Hikes through the Lubenbach valley or up the Ruppberg, from the summit of which you can enjoy an impressive panoramic view of the Thuringian Forest, are particularly attractive. The surrounding area also offers numerous worthwhile excursion destinations. Oberhof offers winter sports facilities and the Rennsteiggarten, while Meiningen delights visitors with its theatre, culture and historic old town.
