The cabin features a shower with hot water—heated by the stove in the living room—as well as a sink with cold water. Lighting is provided by kerosene lamps—here you can experience the simple life without electricity, but with plenty of charm and tranquility.

A balcony and a meadow with outdoor furniture invite you to relax and offer magnificent views of the East Tyrolean mountains. Perfect for nature lovers, adventurers, and romantics who want to enjoy the silence and unspoiled beauty of the Alps.

Nestled in the unspoiled nature of the Villgratental Valley lies the Unterkofler Almhütte, an authentically preserved East Tyrolean alpine hut that brings the magic of bygone days to life. Here you’ll experience true mountain hut romance—without electricity or the hustle and bustle, but with the authentic charm of past generations.

With a living area of 64 m², this rustic cabin accommodates up to 6 people and captivates with its cosy atmosphere and traditional construction using local wood. Those who love simplicity will find the ideal retreat here amidst the Tyrolean mountains.

Amenities & Comfort

The Unterkofler Almhütte features one double bedroom and two twin bedrooms, all rustic and lovingly furnished. The bathroom, equipped with a shower and toilet, is supplied with hot water by the stove in the living room—just like in the old days.

At the heart of the cabin is the large, cosy living room with a brick wood-burning stove that can also be used for baking. This is where guests cook, keep warm, eat, and laugh—it’s the heart of the cabin. A sink with cold water is also available.

The alpine hut is lit by kerosene lamps, as there is no electricity—a true experience of authenticity and a chance to slow down.

Outdoor Area & Location

From the large south-facing balcony, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Villgratental Valley and the entire Winkeltal mountain range. With a little luck, you can spot deer and chamois in the mornings and evenings.

A meadow with outdoor furniture invites you to relax, read, or simply take a moment to unwind.

In the lower part of the alpine hut is the former wood and feed storage area, as well as an unused stable—relics from its farming past that preserve the hut’s authentic character.

Numerous hiking trails start right from the hut, such as the popular hike to the Seven Lakes or to the Hochgrabe (2,951 m), from where a fantastic panoramic view of the entire Villgratental valley unfolds.
