Other Things to Note:
What to bring with you!- You're coming to a wilderness area to vacation and if you plan your vacation well you will have a positive experience. In the summertime May and through the middle of June can tend to be cooler early morning and toward the evening hours. Make sure to bring a jacket and long pants you can change into when needed. Bring a pair of tie up shoes to protect your feet. Shoes likes flip flops or sandals will not protect your feet when you are out exploring. Layering your clothing is a good idea and then if your too warm you can take off clothing as needed. At least this way when departing your cabin early morning to go site seeing you will have what you need with you. July and August are pretty warm and you should still bring a light jacket. The rest of the year you will want to bring heavier jackets and long underwear, snow suits etc. You will need to bring your private toiletries like bar soap and shampoo as we do not provide this for you. Cabins are equipped with everything else you should need except food of course. Snow tires and four-wheel-drive are recommended for traveling in Eastern Idaho during the winter. Road conditions can change quickly, and even well-traveled highways are occasionally closed by blizzards or high winds. Before setting out, check the Transportation Department's website or call 511 for an automated, up-to-the-minute status of all thoroughfares. Wise motorists will also carry emergency gear (shovel, snack bars, water, blankets) in their vehicles to be ready for any contingency. Coming Snowmobiling? A reminder to anyone traveling back country areas whether skiing, snowmobiling or hiking: Remember the time of year, exercising all back country cautions. Take necessary equipment and survival gear when venturing into the back country. If you have a GPS and cell phone, be sure to take them with you, but do not rely on them entirely for a safe rescue if you find yourself in trouble or stranded. Cell phones should be kept close to your body & turned off to keep the battery full, so it's not searching for a signal & running the battery down. Avalanche Transceivers and equipment, knowing what the avalanche conditions are, and knowing skills to save lives are a must for everyone entering back country riding or traveling. Plan ahead. Make sure you know the area you are going into before heading into it. If you find yourself in trouble, stop, take a look around you, and do not go any further. The further you go the more complicated and dangerous it is to get yourself to safety, also making rescue efforts more difficult and dangerous. Make mental notes in relation to any physical features or landmarks that would assist in your rescue. Make a plan, stick to your plan, narrow the riding area, & most of all...let someone know WHERE you are planning to go!

The property was spacious and clean. Everything you needed was available. The beds were comfortable and the cabin was great for our large group. We would stay again if in these parts and highly recommend.
We enjoyed our stay in this comfortable, fully equipped cabin nestled in the woods. Lovely property with plenty of room. We would definitely stay here again.
We really enjoyed this cabin for a family reunion. There was plenty of space for all members of our family. It was in a great location close to West Yellowstone (20 minutes away). We loved that it was nestled in the woods. We would definitely stay again. Thank you!

This cabin was perfect for accommodating a large group of people; our group consisted of 8 adults adults and 8 kids. Very roomy with a large living room area as well as separate living spaces on each level. The hot tub was a wonderful addition to our snowy New Years visit.

Comfortable for our group size. Could have used a few more kitchen appliances and utensils, like a griddle, more pots, pans and utensils. Also wish there was bigger area for snowmobile clothes and gear
Walking distance to a nice grocery story, 30 minutes to Yellowstone. Beautiful interior with hiking out the back of the home. Two washer dryer sets. Waffle Iron and nice blender. We were very comfortable. Didnt need AC even in the end of July

It was clean and well stocked with supplies. Great treats were waiting for us. The layout of the lodge was perfect for our large family with adequate personal space and areas to get together. Any time we looked for something we needed it was there. Only thing we had problem with was the grill only partly worked but we managed.

Would stay here again and again, it is truly a great place to be. Some of the other properties in the Island Park area are so far off the highway and it makes it hard to come and go when needed. This place on the other hand is less than a minute off the main highway but surrounded by trees so you don't see or even really hear the cars, it's great!
We had a group of 19 stay and there were beds for all of us as long as you sleep two per queen. The rooms are nice, the bathrooms worked well, (we did have a leak in the basement bathroom ceiling but only when the main floor shower was used, we called and let them know about the issue, so I'm sure that will be a non issue for future guests).
Tons of dishes, silverware and pots and pans so leave all that home and come enjoy this place. Oh yeah the hot tub was amazing too!
Thanks for a great stay!

Holiday's should always be this much fun.
The property was neat, clean and attractive. The decor was inviting but not easily destroyed. (you know little ones....) We packed the house with 20 of us, but the lay-out allowed us to not feel like we were on top of each other. The kitchen was well stocked with what we needed for food prep and serving. We loved the two sets of washer/dryers and all the towels. We brought up extra towels but, like I said, there were 20 of us. There was plenty of parking for our 5 vehicles. Although we weren't pulling snow machine trailers, there was space for that as well. The deck is great, but slick, slick, slick during winter. The roads weren't plowed, but we totally understand why those coming to snow machine prefer it that way. Two of our vehicles were mini-van's and each got stuck once. But nothing serious and both could easily have been avoided. Besides what the cabin offers, we cross-country skied and took the littles sledding behind the Church. Truthfully, we enjoyed it as much or more than the kiddos. We all had a great time. Wonderful memories were made. We'd come back in a heartbeat. Winter or Summer. Thank you.
We just spent a weekend here with all the family celebrating my moms 70th birthday. We had a wonderful time. Plenty of room to spread out. Prepared most of our meals at the house and had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable and the house was very clean. So great to be in the hot tub on the first snow of the season! Easy access from highway yet far enough away you can’t hear it. Would definitely recommend staying here.

A beautiful property, very nicely decorated. Very well stocked in the kitchen and baths. As we had read before, seems to be a problem with the on-demand hot water heater. Heats only sporadically, doesn't stay hot very long, just enough for 1 or 2 showers, but we managed. Enjoyed our stay!

This is a very spacious property that was extremely fun for my large family gathering. The only complaint that we had is that the water a lot of the time would not heat up. It would be very hot, then would turn ice cold after a few minutes. Many of us did not get to shower for the 3 days that we were there due to this problem. Other than that, it was wonderful! Hopefully the water situation will get addressed and we will stay here year after year.
Perfect size and location for our large, extended family getaway. Beautiful setting and great location for Yellowstone and Mack’s Inn for river float. Very clean and spacious and exactly as website described. We loved staying there!
Although this house is described as accommodating 20 guests, the water heater was good for two showers before the water became cold.
A note on the refrigerator stating there is no air conditioning and that guests should open the windows at night plus closing them in the a.m. would have saved us a lot of hassle.
We loved every minute of our stay. The location was perfect for a quick trip to Henry's Lake, Yellowstone, Mesa Falls, and the list goes on and on. There is a market only minutes away which helped for last minute needs or extra fishing gear.

Overall, this home was a great solution for bringing family together to explore Yellowstone. It had two large living rooms, and had a large porch. Mosquitos were abundant, so we didn't utilize the porch like we had planned. The hot tub was great, especially after a busy day of hiking. The only negatives for us were: the kitchen should be bigger when cooking for the number it accommodates. The hot water tanks couldn't keep up with the dishes, laundry, and showers of a large group. While the loft is great at accommodating additional guests, the openness to the main floor living room impacts those guests. Overall, I would highly recommend this home.
