Gîte Tournesol – Holiday Homes at Bas Marais in the Heart of Nature

Welcome to Gîte Tournesol, set in a Natura 2000 protected area where peace, relaxation, and open space await you on 2 hectares between woods and canals. Bas Marais is nestled in the Marais Poitevin, southern Vendée.



This bright gîte accommodates 5 guests, featuring large glass doors opening onto the garden and canal. The fully equipped kitchen includes a dishwasher, washing machine, electric oven, and microwave, and opens onto the living room with TV. There is one bedroom with a double bed, another with a bunk bed (double below, single above), and a spacious bathroom.



Each gîte is semi-detached and offers a private garden at the back, separated by shrubs, with a terrace, barbecue, outdoor furniture, and loungers facing the canal.



The heated, secure pool is open from mid-May to late September (weather permitting), from 9:30 am to 9 pm.



For your leisure, enjoy outdoor games: football, badminton, table tennis, volleyball, darts, swing, slide, and Molkky. Bikes are available to borrow, and you can take a boat trip on the Canal des Hollandais.



Fishing enthusiasts are welcome—please bring your own gear.

Bed linen and towels are not included but can be booked in advance, with beds made for your arrival. Baby essentials (made-up cot, high chair, bath) are available free of charge on request.



A cleaning package and underfloor electric heating are available for an extra fee. Some basic supplies are provided.



Located 20 minutes from Luçon, 40 minutes from Vendée’s sandy beaches, 45 minutes from La Rochelle, Île de Ré, and La Roche-sur-Yon, 25 minutes from Lake Mervent, its zoo and Vouvant, and 1 hour from Puy du Fou park.
