About this property
Time out in the countryside at Klosterforsthaus Hohe Heide
In the old forester’s lodge in the middle of the forest, far away from civilization, enjoy untouched nature and silence, sleep heavenly, and recharge your batteries. A true countryside getaway!
Step outside the house and you are right in the heart of nature. Gather wild herbs, forest berries, and mushrooms right on your doorstep, or encounter hare, deer, badger & friends.
A farm holiday—just without the fence. At night, you can admire the stars by the fire bowl and gaze into the depths of the universe. The house is perfect for families.
The accommodation
Beautiful half-timbered forester’s house from 1750, with individually and stylishly furnished rooms, clay walls and ceilings, and exposed wooden beams. Pleasantly cool in summer and wonderfully cozy in winter thanks to the stoves.
The large bedroom features a wood-burning fireplace stove. In the kitchen, in addition to a gas stove, there is an old cooking range that is also fired with wood. There is also central heating with beautiful old cast-iron radiators.
The accommodation is suitable for 2 to 5 guests.
Guest access
You rent the entire spacious ground floor of the house, covering approx. 100 m². The attic is currently not developed. You also have access to the entire garden. The property is not fenced and blends seamlessly into the surrounding nature. Your car can be parked free of charge across the road.
Other important notes
What to expect—and what you should enjoy:
An old, carefully renovated house with character and quirks—no slick new build with showroom-perfect furniture, but lots of lovely details instead.
Historically very low door frames in parts of the house—taller guests will need to mind their heads.
A nature-oriented garden: while we mow the lawn regularly, we also leave plenty of areas untouched for birds, animals, and insects that share the garden with you.
Speaking of animals: the house has a hunting and forestry background, which means there are a few antlers and local trophies. Children usually find this extremely fascinating!
A beautiful secluded location in the middle of Klosterwald forest with only a few neighbors—you’ll have plenty of peace and quiet, but you do need a means of transport to reach the nearest shops (Heiligengrabe, Pritzwalk, or Wittstock).
About peace and quiet: generally, neighbors are very considerate of each other when it comes to noise, while of course tolerating what is necessary.
The large bathroom with shower is accessed through the large bedroom.
The WC with washbasin is accessible to everyone via the central hallway. ;-)
The king-size bed in the large bedroom measures 160 cm x 200 cm.
The queen-size bed in the small bedroom measures 140 cm x 200 cm.
Many guests are pleasantly surprised to find that the house feels much larger inside than it appears from the outside. ;-) The floor plan covers approx. 100 m².
