A few minutes from Cordoba, very close to the village of Almodovar del Rio, at the foot of the Natural Park of Hornachuelos, in the heart of the Sierra Morena and with the Breña II reservoir as a witness, is "La Garrida". Almodóvar is a charming Andalusian village of about 8,000 inhabitants, included in the Roman Betica Route and among its many attractions is its impressive Castle of La Floresta, a fortress of Arab origin, one of the best preserved in Spain and with spectacular views of the Guadalquivir Valley and the countryside of Cordoba. La Floresta becomes Altojardín, the seat of the Tyrell dynasty in the series Game of Thrones. La Garrida country house is located at the foot of the Hornachuelos Natural Park, which is home to one of the best-preserved areas of Mediterranean forest in the whole of the Sierra Morena. Its trails will transport you to places full of charm where you can contemplate the flight of birds such as storks, eagles or vultures, as well as observe otters, mongooses, wild boars, deer and even lynxes.

La Garrida is located in the heart of a small olive grove of about 8,000 square metres. A newly built house in keeping with the Andalusian rural aesthetic where traditional and modern elements are combined, without forgetting respect for the environment. The house is surrounded by gardens with native vegetation and aromatic plants that will be a pleasure for your senses. La Garrida Rural House has a privileged location. During your stay at La Garrida you can practice various activities with the whole family such as hiking, cross or trail running, mountain biking or horseback riding, as well as water sports, including wakeboarding or waterskiing. If you love motocross, the El Pinillo circuit is very close by, where you can enjoy your favourite sport.

In just five minutes walk you can access the Breña II Reservoir, one of the largest in Andalusia, where you can practice Wakeboard and Watersky. Close by is the Centro de Actividades en la Naturaleza (Nature Activities Centre), which offers a wide range of complementary activities such as solar boat rides, kayak hire, paddle boarding, archery, zip-lining and climbing on a climbing wall. A visit to the city of Cordoba, 22 kilometres away, is a must. It is the queen of World Heritage Sites, the only city in the world with four UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the Mosque-Cathedral (1984), the historic quarter (1994), the Fiesta de los Patios (2012) and the archaeological site of Medina Azahara (2018). Of all of them, the jewel in the crown is undoubtedly the Mosque-Cathedral, the only Cathedral in the world that is located inside an ancient Mosque, a monument that will surprise you, impress you and will remain forever in your memory.
