This spacious and sunny ground-floor apartment stands out for its well-thought-out and functional layout. The large, open-concept living-dining area offers a cosy and relaxing space for the whole family. From here, you can step out onto the large sun terrace (southwest-facing) with a wonderful view of the park-like garden. The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, oven, and glass-ceramic cooktop. A large dining table seats up to 6 people. A Smart TV and a Senseo coffee pad machine are also included.
Since charcoal grilling is not permitted due to the fire hazard, an electric grill ensures cosy barbecue evenings on the sunny terrace. The apartment also features two bright, spacious bedrooms, a beautiful shower room (with a toilet and hair dryer), and an additional guest bathroom. To ensure a peaceful night’s sleep, all windows and the patio door are fitted with professional insect screens. The apartment is also allergy-friendly, with tile or laminate flooring. Since it’s located on the ground floor, it’s also suitable for people with disabilities. The costs for heat, water, and electricity are included in the rent.

Groß Zicker and Surroundings

Groß Zicker is a beautiful former fishing village on the Mönchgut peninsula in southeastern Rügen, which still retains its quiet, unspoiled beauty. Our holiday rental is located in the biosphere reserve, just a 5-minute drive from the beach or a short walk to the swimming spot on the Bodden. Nestled between salt marshes and hills, you can enjoy the view across the Bodden and the vastness of the landscape. The proximity to the sea and the romantic tranquility of fall and winter characterise this unique setting.
Numerous well-maintained hiking and biking trails through the Zicker Mountains and along the Bodden coast are a delight for every hiking enthusiast. Kilometres of sandy beaches in the immediate vicinity invite you to enjoy swimming. There is a kiteboarding and surfing school in Thiessow (5 km). You can go horseback riding at the riding stable in Alt Reddevitz (5 km). There are several golf courses in the immediate vicinity and 20 restaurants within a 5-kilometer radius.
The lively seaside resort of Binz is only about 23 kilometres away (30 minutes by car), perfect for a day trip or a stroll along the promenade. We recommend visiting the “VITAMAR Water Park” in Binz, the “Karls Erlebnisdorf” in Zirkow—which is great for kids—and taking a ride on the “Rasender Roland,” the historic resort train that departs from Baabe and travels to many idyllic parts of the island. In Gager (0.5 km), you can book a sightseeing boat to destinations in the surrounding area. In the summer, the highly recommended “Störtebeker Festival” also takes place in Ralswiek.
Location
The picturesque village of Groß Zicker, a designated historic landmark, is considered one of the most romantic places on the island—with thatched-roof houses, small cobblestone alleys, and a special sense of tranquility. Groß Zicker, with its three-sided farmsteads, is best known for the parish widow’s house. Built around 1720, this half-timbered house with clay walls is one of the oldest residential buildings on Rügen. The old village church with its wooden bell tower is also worth a visit. The village also offers idyllic places to stop for refreshments, as well as a small natural harbour with moorings for fishing boats and recreational boats right on the Bodden.
