Four à Pain d'Eugénie – A Cozy Retreat in the Heart of Mont-Saint-Michel Bay

Located in the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel, just 20 minutes from Saint-Malo, our charming cottage "Four à Pain d'Eugénie" is a former independent 25 m² bread oven, transformed into a cozy retreat for two guests.



Enjoy peace, elegance, and rural romance in this standalone cottage, part of a carefully renovated historic farmhouse that blends old-world charm with modern comfort while preserving its Breton soul.



The studio features a bright living area with a kitchenette, lounge corner, and a private terrace overlooking a cider apple orchard, a spring, a pond, and a small lake. The sliding glass door disappears into the wall, opening the living space directly onto the terrace—an open-plan layout with no separate closed-off lounge. The bathroom has a spacious walk-in shower and toilet. The bedroom offers a 140x190 cm bed with orchard views. Outdoors, relax on garden furniture and sun loungers.



For your comfort, the bed is made on arrival and towels are provided. A continental breakfast basket is available on request at booking for an extra charge. Nespresso capsules are also available for an extra charge.



We kindly ask guests to leave the property as clean as they found it. Cleaning is available as an option for an extra charge.



Mont-Saint-Michel and its bay are must-sees: Dol-de-Bretagne, Saint-Malo's walled city and beaches, Cancale with its oysters, Dinan's medieval town, Granville, Brocéliande forest, the Roche aux Fées standing stones, Bayeux, Caen, and the D-Day beaches are all within a day trip.

Un séjour parfait !

Pros: Le logement est très agréable, très bien équipé et idéalement situé pour explorer l'ensemble des sites d'intérêt entre le Mont Saint-Michel et Saint-Malo. Un grand merci à notre hôtesse pour son accueil si chaleureux. Ses conseils ont été précieux tout au long du séjour : elle connaît parfaitement sa région et sait orienter vers les plus beaux endroits à visiter ainsi que les meilleures adresses pour déguster les spécialités locales. Ce fut un vrai plaisir de séjourner ici. Nous recommandons ce logement les yeux fermés !

Slapen in een oude bakkerij op een mooie, rustige locatie.

Pros: Onze host, Nicollette, heeft ons uitgebreid geholpen met het vinden van leuke dingen om te doen. We hebben dankzij haar verschillende natuurexcursies ondernomen, daar hebben we ontzettend van genoten. Ook als er iets anders aan de hand was, stond ze meteen klaar om ons te helpen. Bijvoorbeeld toen we eclipsbrillen zochten om de zonsverduistering te bekijken of toen ze merkte dat we niet graag in de zon zitten. Ze bracht ons spontaan meteen twee grote parasols. Het huisje staat op een mooie, rustige plek, met veel vogels in de grote tuin. Toen we er waren was het erg warm, maar door de ligging van het huisje hebben we daar nauwelijks last van gehad. Het huisje is wat aan de kleine kant. Wij hebben daar geen last van gehad, omdat we al onze tijd buiten hebben doorgebracht, op het grote terras.

Es war ein sehr herzlicher und persönlicher Empfang.

Pros: Der Blick auf die Parkartige Umgebung, trotz Straße in der Nähe war es zu 98% sehr ruhig. Man ist sehr schnell auf der Autobahn in Richtung St. Malo oder Mont St. Michel. Intermarché , Carfour und Super U sind in wenigen Minuten mit dem Auto zu erreichen. Ich fand auch das Frühstücks-Angebot sehr gut. Das Bett ist fest und man schläft sehr gut darin. Sehr gut auch die begehbare Dusche. Nicolle ist sehr kommunikativ und versteht es sich mittels Englisch oder Übersezter Software auf ihrem Mobile gut zu verständigen. Die Küche ist klein aber fein. Es fehlt im Prinzip an Nichts. Cons: Das fehlen eines richtigen "Wohnzimmers" wird durch die breite Fensterfront die sich völlig in die Wand schieben läßt und so einen ungehinderten Zugang zur Terrasse öffnet mehr als wett gemacht. Das Waschbecken im Bad ist sehr stylisch. Leider spritzt das Wasser in alle Richtungen heraus wenn man den Hahn mehr als halb aufdreht. Da würde ich, liebe Nicolle, ein anderes Becken bevorzugen. Aber das ist nebensächlich. Ein Sonnenschutz über der Terrasse wäre die einzige Sache die ich wirklich vermißt habe. Dabei gibt es mittels Ösen rechts und links der Fensterfront, außen, schon geeignete Möglichkeiten ein Sonnensegen o.ä. mittels Ösen anzubringen. Ich hoffe Nicolle und Yves machen da noch was. Spätestens am Nachmittag ist aber sowieso Schatten auf der Terrasse. Also ist das auch auch o.k. und nicht wirklich schlimm. Da ich tagsüber immer unterwegs war, war das kein Problem für mich.
