Small, quiet, romantic, reasonably priced cabin, next to a great trout stream
Helton Creek Guest Cabin is a 1 bedroom, 1 bath, 300 sq ft cabin, perfect for a quiet week or weekend on a state maintained trout stream, Helton Creek. This guest cabin is great for the extended family or a couple/family who may want to rent it by itself at more reasonable rates, with or without renting the main cabin. It features 1 bedroom (queen bed), 1 bath, a queen-size sleeper sofa in the living room, and kitchenette with all utensils, hot plate, coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave/ large convection oven. We had a great time! Enjoyed the hot tub every night after hiking at Grayson State Park which is super close by. Cooked on the grill also every day. Only downside was that we were leaving on a Sunday and didn’t think of the recycling center being closed, so we had to drive around with stinky trash…

Sorry about the stinky garbage, but thanks for your diligence. Glad you enjoyed the stay.
The cabin was great, the location was great, even the weather was great. Very relaxing, lots to do around the area, hell you can even see stars up in the sky its so dark because you are away from city lights. Very easy check in and out. Best part I did is in the picture below. Thanks for a great week. Barry and Kathie

Unfortunately, we left a day early due to issues. The pros: very majestic view. Nice hot tub, communicative ownersCons: heater was impossible to regulate, at one point cabin was 91 degrees. We had to open the windows to cool down and turn on AC unit. Beds- absolutely horrible. Bed was so old it looked like a taco and my husband and I rolled into each other, we could feel springs. The second night my husband slept on pull out couch with a bar in his back which he said was better than the taco bed. I would also mention, it’s not private, it’s nestled between two homes on a road that had a good bit of traffic.

I'm sorry you had such a horrible stay with the heat and the bed that you said sagged in the middle.
I think you have never stayed in a cabin with a propane heater, but that little heater can warm up the place in a short time. It sounds like you were nervous to slowly adjust the control knob as it should be to a comfortable setting. We generally do not get complaints about the heater. As far as the queen size bed, we will check that out and if need be, replace it.

This is an awesome cozy cabin right on Helton Creek. The kitchen is basic, but nice. There is no stove or oven, just a hot plate and microwave convection oven. We have stayed here before. The only disappointing part, was the lack of fishing, obviously due to the horrible floods.

Cute cabin right on Helton Creek. We enjoyed the hot tub on the porch listening to the water cascade over the rocks in the creek. We spent most of our time outside on the porch or exploring the creek. Really relaxing and peaceful. The owners were very quick to reply to our question regarding the hot tub. Thank you for sharing your little piece of heaven.
My wife and I were in need of a stress break. We found this listing and decided to give it a shot since we are both outdoors people. We found this to be a wonderful property and the trout fishing was amazing! I will recommend this to friends.

We loved staying at this cabin. It was the perfect little get away spot. It had everything we needed and we were close to enough but just far enough away from town. We will be back to visit again! The owners were also very friendly and helpful during our visit.

Charming spot
We came for our 5th wedding anniversary. Was exactly what we needed- time away and in the quiet of the mountains. It’s so perfect, has everything we needed. Grill works great, the hot tub is SO nice, and you gotta start a campfire under the stars 💕 we hope to come back next year!!

My husband and I rented the cabin for my birthday with plans to go hiking in Grayson Highlands. However, it rained the entire time but we made the best of it. We enjoy a relaxing time at the cabin and visited neighboring towns.

Thanks for staying with us, even though you had the electrical problems the last day of your stay. We still have not gotten an electrician out there to find out the problem, but a fairly sure it was caused by the hot tub jets.
Come back and visit us again sometime.
Best regards,
Jim

Cabin was a little tight for 3 adults & 1 English Bulldog. We made it work though. Everyone absolutely loved the porch area, even our dog loved it, with the sounds of the creek.
