The "Friesen-Cottage"—a dream home in the heart of Friedrichstadt!
Just 100 meters from the market square lies this small, historic house—a retreat with an enchanting cottage garden that can accommodate up to four people.
This newly renovated gem is a pet-free, non-smoking home. It features two tastefully decorated bedrooms with double beds (one 160 wide and one 140 wide), a spacious, light-filled living/dining area with a TV and a cozy couch. Wi-Fi is, of course, available, and the TV is streaming-compatible. So if you’d like to use your own Netflix or Prime accounts, you’re welcome to do so.
In the modern, fully equipped kitchen, cooking enthusiasts—and those who want to become one—can really let their creativity run wild. An induction cooktop with an automatic range hood, a high-quality oven, a refrigerator with a freezer compartment, and a dishwasher are all ready for use—as are a coffee maker, electric kettle, and toaster. High-quality tableware and fine glassware round out the perfect dinner.
The rainforest shower in the modern bathroom can make you feel like you’re by the North Sea on gloomy days, while the newly laid terrazzo floor evokes a sandy beach with colorful pebbles—a small, exquisite oasis of well-being. A hair dryer and a makeup mirror are provided.
The outdoor area of the “Friesen-Cottage” becomes a secret favorite spot, especially in the spring and summer. Even the walk to the garden evokes the world of Rosamunde Pilcher—boxwood hedges border the lush perennial beds, where the most beautiful roses fill the air with their fragrance. A charming terrace with teak furniture invites you to enjoy coffee and a sundowner. Here you can make plans, unwind, and enjoy life—but barbecuing is prohibited.
If you want to leave this garden paradise behind the house, you’ll find the charming old town of Friedrichstadt right in front of the house. Various restaurants are within a five-minute walk—as are a good Edeka grocery store and a bakery. If you don’t want to drive all the way to the North Sea, you can go swimming right in Friedrichstadt in the Treene River—a small snack bar at the swimming spot serves fries, ice cream, and drinks. Or you can hop on a bike and explore the area. Bikes and e-bikes can be rented in town. A SUP tour through the canals or a pedal boat outing are must-dos when the weather is nice.
You don’t need a car to get to Friedrichstadt. The train service is excellent—trains run hourly to and from Hamburg, Sylt, and Husum. From the train station, it’s a ten-minute walk along a paved path to the vacation home.
Rediscover a slice of paradise and treat yourself to a getaway at the “Friesen-Cottage.” The house and your hosts look forward to welcoming you!
