Beautiful, quiet location. Roomier than photos appeared. It is a climb up, as was clear in description. Nicely furnished. Very good internet connection, although Roku TV tended to drop off. Lots of birds and deer! Would stay here again.
Cute place. Very quiet. Can be easy to bonk your head on the slanted ceilings and the water tasted metallic but it’s easy to buy bottled water and watch your head. Great lobster roll right down the street. Convenient beach. Nice town. Close to Acadia
couldn’t be happier with the treehouse and the property as a whole. we were delighted to see a doe and her fawn right outside our car the first time we left to go into town. southwest harbor was a great experience, we went to salt shop for dessert every day! very happy with our choice to stay on the “quiet side” of the island and only trek into bar harbor to get to the park for the classic hikes like the beehive. the mountains on the west side offered beautiful views and made for peaceful hikes. the treehouse was an excellent homebase for a serene get away.
The space is perfect for two people, but the kitchen and bathroom may be too small for some people. I loved the unique setting and the fact that it was not in a touristy area but that you can get to Acadia National Park in less than 30 minutes. A nice change of pace from the craziness that is Bar Harbor. We did lose hot water on our third night, but a quick text to Anne and it was fixed by the time we needed it in the morning.A lovely place to stay if you want a quiet, enjoyable stay in the heart of MDI.
I personally loved the quiet side location. Nothing wrong with this rental, but nothing spectacular about it either. I think "honeymoon retreat" is an odd name for this place versus something on the quiet side of acadia. I stayed here by myself, but can't imagine it being romantic, like one would think with the name honeymoon retreat. This rental says no kids, but the rental next door allows kids so you can still very much hear kids. Might as well allow them. I was thinking "no kids" would mean I wouldn't hear them either. I love the detailed information about the area that is provided to you as a renter. I would stay again for the mere location of this property.
The property is well priced and located on the quiet side of Acadia Park in Southwest Harbor. Good access to the Park, very clean, and very comfortable!
Daunted at first by the metal spiral staircase to get to our Treehouse nest, the outdoor stairwell became like a portal- a welcome home rite of passage after a day exploring the wonders of the island; a departing spiral handshake saying I’ll be here to welcome you when you return. The Treehouse had everything we needed and more.
My wife and I booked this in the Seawall area of Mount Desert Island for our stay while hiking and sightseeing around Acadia. This home and its location were exactly what we needed to enjoy the National Park and an escape from the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor. After exploring all day, it was great to return to this quiet side of the island where we were greeted by the island deer! A climb up the spiral staircase would help us wind down. The new deck was a place to rest or stargaze amidst the surrounding tree tops. Inside was very cozy, perfect for us. This home felt very much like our own while we were there! Looking forward to our next trip here.
Great location! Just outside of Southwest Harbor. Private road, wooded surrounding, private beach. No a/c, 1 fan. Nice deck and walking distance to great lobster stand. Would definitely stay there again!
My partner and I have been planning this trip for months! We got engaged during our stay. ☺️Such a cute place and very close to Acadia National Park and all the cute shops/restaurants in Bar Harbor. The lobster pound is walking distance and is amazing. Everyone was so friendly. Take advantage of the private beach!
We had a great weekend at Anne's place! She was prompt at getting back to us with any questions or concerns we had, and she sent an incredible list of recommendations all over the island for our visit!
The VRBO had plenty of room for two people. The bathroom and shower were small but Anne provided all the amenities we needed for the long weekend.
Everywhere we went from the VRBO was about a 20 minute drive, but it was lovely to be away from the crowds and explore a quieter area of the island.

Guess my only real complaint is that We had booked this cabin for three days. We were supply two towels only. The shower was so small, hardy can move in it. The area around the cabin in town/baths or and the Acadia park will worth the trip. If we were to go again we would probably choose to stay else where. We didn’t feel we got what we paid for at 800 for three night.
Location, comfort, cleanliness were optimal in the Treehouse!
Walked to the rocky beach (@ 100 yards). Super comfortable bed. Lobster pound serving seafood and ice cream and pie is 300 yards away. We had to break for deer crossing the driveway. 🙂
