Nature begins right on your doorstep. Kvamskogen offers beautiful walking trails through varied mountain landscapes, idyllic fishing lakes, and fields of blueberries and cloudberries in late summer and autumn. With a bit of luck, you can spot hares, squirrels and numerous bird species from the kitchen window – little moments of nature that make your stay special.



In winter, Kvamskogen is transformed into a paradise for winter sports enthusiasts. The cross-country ski trails start right by the cabin, so you can strap on your skis straight outside the door and set off along perfectly groomed trails through the stunning mountain landscape. Those who prefer downhill skiing can reach the Furedalen Alpinsenter in just a few minutes’ walk. This makes it easy to combine relaxing hours at the cabin with active days on the slopes.



Despite its peaceful mountain setting, there are plenty of day-trip destinations within easy reach. The villages of Norheimsund and Øystese are just a short drive away and offer shops, cafés and restaurants on the Hardangerfjord. Bergen is also ideal for a day trip – with the historic Bryggen district, the Fløibanen funicular, interesting museums, a wide range of shopping options and excellent dining. There is also a grocery shop nearby.
