The apartment was very nice. Great location. Great access to the Metro. No complaints at all. We had a great first visit to Paris
Diane was more than helpful.
Wonderful family vacation
Stayed one week in this lovely apartment in a quiet Paris neighborhood. Vacationed with spouse and 17 year old son and enjoyed the ability to walk to many sites such as the Pantheon, Notre Dame, The Latin Quarter and Sainte Chapelle. Metro station is only 1/2 a block away so this made easy access for longer trips. Many great restaurants and bakeries were in the area as well as several small grocery stores and fruit stands. The apartment was a pleasant and quiet respite after long days of venturing out shopping and site seeing. Deidre and Diane were great to work with and check in/check out was easy. I would highly recommend this apartment.
Quiet and homey
Our little family of three enjoyed an eleven day stay in Dierdre’s sweet apartment. My favorite memories are the late summer sunsets with Sacre Coeur in the distance, the windows thrown open in the early morning light with a fresh baguette and croissant from Madison Gaumer (just downstairs and to the right), and the perfectly firm bed at the end of a long day exploring Paris.
It was snug but manageable with a six year old and we even huffed and puffed up the steps gladly after endless gelato cones and croissants. The tiny kitchen had a good sized fridge and lunches and dinners were accomplished easily on the gas cooktop. The bathroom had a nice deep tub for soaks and though compact was clean.
For a week we heard the laughs and yelps of children playing in the schoolyard nearby, always at a decent hour, but the next week all was quiet. Nights were very quiet, even with the windows open, and as a light sleeper I was always able to sleep soundly.
Grocery shopping was quick and efficient around the next block and a small fruit market is nearby. Bakeries and coffee shops abound, our favorite coffee was from Strada Cafe two blocks away. The Petit Cardinal was a hoot for a late night snack and Terronia, on the same block, was our favorite meal of the trip.
We utilized the bus and metro just around either corner of the apartment at least once a day and found all the information left for visitors very useful. Diane was patient and attentive at check in and we appreciated her organized welcome. All in all, it was a great base to explore Paris, especially for those who enjoy a good stroll. We miss Paris dearly and our time in this charming gem of a place.
This apartment was perfect in location. 2 Metro lines in walking distance. Restaurants nearby. Apartment is decorated beautifully and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The owner and manager are both lovely to work with and so helpful with information. I would definitely stay here again.
Great apartment in perfect location
Had a great time in Paris at this apartment. The apartment is in a great location, well kept with lots of amenities. The attention to detail is beyond expectation - ranging from a well stocked kitchen to all the useful visitor information you could need. Would definitely stay here again.
About deirdre slevin
Originally from Dublin, I lucked into my apartment in Paris 18 years ago. I knew as soon as I walked through the door and saw the light and the view that despite the 4 flights of stairs, this was IT!! So light and airy. It helped that it had just been beautifully renovated by an Italian and her architect, who had maximized the space while keeping the architectural details. But I had to live in it to fully appreciate how brilliantly convenient the location is, even though I had previously lived in 3 different and very nice parts of Paris, including one in another part of the Latin Quarter - even closer to the river and Notre Dame, but jammed with tourists and fast food joints. The 2 different metro lines and 4 buses within moments of the front door are something for which I give thanks on a daily basis as I go about my daily life without a car. As I rent it when I am not in Paris myself, you will be met at the apartment by Diane Carruthers, who is from Montreal . She has been living in Paris for years and who will do everything she can to make your arrival and introduction to the apartment smooth and stress free. We both want our visitors to have their stay live up to their hopes, and they do seem to, judging by all the appreciative comments they write in the guest book. All the best Deirdre Slevin
