About this property
Quiet Hill-Country Get-A-Away For Families/Small Groups. Winter Texans Welcome!
Beautiful, well-furnished 2-bedroom, 2-bath cabin (actually a house with a cozy cabin feel) in the Texas Hill Country just outside of New Braunfels, Texas and minutes away from the historic town of Gruene, the quaint town of Wimberley and the famous outlet shops in San Marcos. Also only an hour away from the larger cities of Austin and San Antonio.
Our property offers a quiet, serene get-a-way with over 400 feet of frontage along the cold and refreshing Guadalupe River. Included with your stay are complimentary sit-on-top kayaks, paddle boats, tubes and SUP's (Stand Up Paddleboards). All the popular lake activities (sailing, jet skiing, etc) available just down the road on Canyon Lake. All modern conveniences including central ac/heat, cable TV and wireless internet. Indoor fireplace and covered outdoor seating area with fireplace and gas grill. Great place for fun in the sun during the summer months and an exceptionally serene retreat during our moderate-weathered winter months. Winter Texans are always welcome and be sure to contact us for special discounted rates for stays of 30 days or more.
FYI, our cabin is very nicely furnished, but is not huge. Although we can actually sleep 10 people in the 5 available queen-size beds (2 in each bedroom and a sofa sleeper in the living room), it can get a bit cramped at times with larger groups, depending on how "cozy" you want to be. Although we have had several groups of 8-10 people who have enjoyed their stay, it is our opinion that six is the most that can fit "comfortably" in our cabin. Of course, we have plenty of room outside for entertaining.

This was, by far, the best VRBO we've ever stayed at! Hosts were very gracious & easy to communicate with. The house was absolutely amazing. Right on the Guadalupe River with easy access to the river that was so peaceful & quiet. Beds were comfy & everything was super clean. The house was beautifully decorated & very cozy. 10 out of 10 highly recommend! We will definitely be staying here again when we come back to visit.
We just loved this place! We spent so much time at the covered patio watching TV every evening. Deer, armadillo and lots of birds on property. We didn't take advantage of the short walk to the beautiful river relaxation/kayak area as we were always on the go as this location is so close to our favorite spots. Washer/Dryer was a huge plus and we loved having 2 bathrooms with roomy showers. Hosts were very welcoming and helpful.
This is a wonderful house and very peaceful and quiet. We loved watching all of the deer. The owners were extremely hospitable and helpful! We plan to stay here again.
This is a super cabin that offers a comfortable stay with perks! Wonderful covered & uncovered outdoor seating areas next to cabin with both a fireplace & fire pit. Other outdoor seating is right on the Guadalupe River. Host & Hostess both were so nice & we’re available for any questions. Great stay!
This is the most awesome place on the Guadalupe, just can’t say enough about this cabin. The owners are so nice and welcoming. I can’t wait to stay here again!
Great little place just off the Guadalupe … and away from traffic & commotion. The place all the amenities & then some. We had rain but still had a great visit and would LOVE to get back to enjoy all the outdoor stuff offered.
Perfect stay with all amenities no worry trip our family and especially my husband for his bday. Even provided wood for the fire pit. We all had fun on kayaks and paddle boards on the river or just tube and relax. Great trip we will definitely book again.
Cabin near the Guadalupe river with great views and nature.Bedrooms and bathrooms were very comfortable.Kitchen and living area is small enough that 4 people would be the max size group that I would stay with.Very clean and the cabin itself was absolutely lovely with great outdoor seating area.Would stay there again if in the area!
We had a great stay at the river cabin. Plenty of privacy and a friendly host. The river was great to cool off in after our sunny adventures. Everything was clean and well stocked. I’d rank it as one of the top places we’ve stayed.

About the host
Hosted by Ralph Voss
I'm an ex-civil engineer who was lucky enough to have this beautiful property passed down to me by prior generations of my family. I have spent most of my life trying to find a way to make this property my full-time home. Finally, after marrying my beautiful Argentine wife, Analia, we decided to build the rental cabin in 2007 so we could enjoy and share this one-of-a-kind property with others. Ana and I both are very active recreational athletes who love to bike, swim, hike and run. Ana is currently a nine-time Ironman finisher with plans for more in the future.
Why they chose this property
This property has been in my family since the late 1950's. With our personal home on site, we decided to build the rental cabin in 2007 so we could share this beautiful, unique slice of heaven with others.
What makes this property unique
The combination of the beautiful outdoor setting with the modern, fully-equipped amenities of our luxurious cabin offers both the opportunity for quiet rest and relaxation as well as fun activities and sports on the river. The fall and winter months are particularly peaceful and a great time to enjoy both our indoor and outdoor fireplaces. And with ample shopping, dining and entertainment choices just minutes away you can rest assured you will never be bored during your stay!
