About this property
Val D Ayas: chalet - 5 rooms - 6/10 persons House with garden
Perfect for families with kids, skiers and climbers. The starting point for Mount Rose, the second highest peak in Europe.
Our house is Ideally situated in the Alps, close to the wild and to the Antagnod and Monterosa ski areas. Quiet, with a nice garden facing south, it is located about 300 meters east of Antagnod, a nice historic mountain village in Val d’Ayas (Aoste. Italie), getting a lot of sun even during the winter.
The main house has three bedrooms (a triple one, another with a queen size bed, and the third with 2 bunk beds), two bathrooms, a large living-dining room, with two sofas that can be used exceptionally as beds. There is also a cot bed for toddlers.
There are two entrances, directly from the sunny garden (facing south).
The house is very comfortable and well furnished and equipped, having everything necessary to host comfortably 7 people or more (and up to 12 for dinner).
Heating is provided by a pellet stove in the living room plus electric appliances in the other rooms. Since the house is very well insulated and gets plenty of sun also in winter, it takes rather little energy to maintain a temperature of 19-20°C in it. One bag of pellet is provided. Extra should be bought by the tenants. We charge electricity expenses exceeding 50 euros per week (calculated at the price of the month per kW on the two counters next to the entrance doors).
The total consume depends on the outside temperature and the use you make of it. It is reasonable if you keep the inside temperature around 19-20 ° and you do not forget any appliance on when it is not necessary.
For the summer stays, there are plenty of beautiful hikes, from very easy ones to the challenging climbs above 4000 meters. Expert mountain guides are available in Ayas.
For the winter stays, the Ski-lifts of Antagnod are about 400 meters from home. You can arrive in front of the door with the skis (but then you have to walk the 400 meters to the lifts unless someone drives you up..).
MonteRosaSki is one of the most beautiful in Europe. You can travel to the valley of Gressoney and from there to Alagna in Piemonte, skiing for almost 100 km on a day. From Passo Salati, between Gressoney and Alagna, experienced skiers can take the Funivia (CableCar) to Punta Indren, over 3300 meters above sea level, and ski down the Mount Rose glacier.
To get on the MonteRosa ski lifts one has to go to Champoluc, about 3-4 km, or Frachey (2 km more). There are convenient and free buses that go from Antagnod every 20 min, if you do not want to use your car
Supermarket and all essential shops are in Antagnod village (about 300 meters). Pharmacy, Movie theatre and night clubs in Champoluc. Attached please find a few web sites with info about ski, guides etc.
The price of the week changes according to seasons. To it, one must add 60€ for cleaning and 10€ per person if one uses the house linen + electricity expenses exceeding 50 euros x week calculated at the price of the month (costs are reasonable if one does not exceed 19-20°C).
If you are a party greater than 7, you may wish to rent also the room we normally keep for ourselves (unless of course we use it that week). It is about 25 square meters and has a king size bed and includes a third bathroom.
For it, we ask a fee in addition to the cost of the main house, which also varies according to season.
Do not hesitate to contact us should you require further info on the house, village, valley, skiing and hikes.
