Renovated Waterfront Northwoods Cabin with NEW 2024 Pontoon Boat and fire pit

Our quintessential Northwoods cottage is the perfect gathering for a vacation away at any time of year. Our waterfront location is perfect for swimming, fishing, leisure boating (pontoon included), and family retreats in the summer, and is located on the ATV & Snowmobile trails for winter fun. Our cabin is last in the line on this side of the lake making for a quiet and private location for a swing in the hammock or a day of swimming before lighting a fire and sitting out to listen to the bullfrogs welcome the early evening.

The cabin has 2 bedrooms (plus another walk through "bedroom" with a pullout couch) and 1 subdivided bathroom (sleeps 6 to 8). It was completely remodeled with modern amenities in 2021! Located on a secluded bay on 1300 acre Pickerel Lake, you’ll love our place for the ambiance, access to the outdoors, tranquility and privacy.

Our 51 acres includes 2500 feet of water frontage including a majority of the bay. We provide easy access to the lake with two private boat docks including an L-shaped dock with seating and the Brand New 2024 model pontoon boat, and a second dock with canoes and paddles for exploring the bay. The deck overlooking the lake is the perfect place for a morning coffee or an evening cocktail while enjoying the sound of the lapping waves.

Swimming is available at the end of our dock where it is about 4-ft deep with a fairly sandy bottom. We have a swim ladder at the end of the pier. Nearby areas of the bay have more weeds and muddy bottom. Larger areas to swim are available on Pickerel Lake just a short boat ride away, and popular beaches can be found on nearby lakes.

THE CABIN: The cottage is about 1,000 square feet with 500 square feet downstairs and 500 up-stairs. Three bedrooms include three queen beds, and two pull-out sleeper sofas. The loft bedroom includes a TV and love seat. A fully equipped kitchen comes complete with gas stove, dishwasher, and microwave. Also included are wicker patio furniture, hammock, fire pit, propane grill and laundry on-site. The Cottage is equipped with air conditioning and heat, and a propane furnace for optimal comfort all year round. Level 2 Electric car charging for 2 cars with 40 Amps each; gain approximately 30 miles of range per hour.

THE BOAT: Did we mention this rental includes a pontoon boat with no extra fees? There is plenty of room to relax on or fish from our 2024 Montego Bay Fish and Cruise pontoon boat. The boat is available during the boating season (Approximately MAY 1st-October 25th). This 22-ft boat seats up to 12 persons and includes an adjustable bimini top, live-well, a 90 horse 4-stroke Mercury motor, fish finder, and a 27-gallon fuel tank to enable a lot more boating time! A rental agreement needs to be completed prior to your stay.

The pontoon is kept on an electric boat lift making it easy to lower the boat and head out onto the lake. We keep our rental rates for the cottage and the boat competitively priced to keep this a best value rental. For reference, local pontoon boat rentals alone cost approximately $300 per day or up to $2,100 per week (with NO cottage included). Save money with our bundle!*

Please ask if interested in renting either the outboard motor or the trolling motor or both.

• If you are renting in May, September or October and your rental period does not include a Friday or Saturday night stay.

Beautiful area of WI

The cabin is in a beautiful area. We enjoyed our time there. It's quiet and peaceful, there is lots of wildlife, and the pontoon was fantastic to take a leisurely ride around the lake. The interior has all the amenities of a home, dishwasher, washer & dryer, huge TV, large fridge, and a nice gas stove. I would recommend it to anyone for a relaxing vacation.

Lake average depth 2 1/2 feet. Weeds everywhere. Pontoon with 90 hp Mercury....way to big for incredibly shallow lake. House was average at best. Electricity went out twice...no storms in the area. I went home 2 days early. Waste of money!!

Very nice cabin with brand new pontoon included. Private location, only a few steps to dock. Super comfortable large pontoon with 90 hp 4-stroke, Hummingbird fish finder. Good fishing and nice bars and restaurants nearby. Easy check in and check out process. Definitely will be back!

Great Lake and Boat

Took my 3 sons and 2 grandsons their for 5 days. It was very nice, the boat was great, plus kayaks, canoe, tubing and foam island mat were all available. We fished, swam, watched eagles and had campfires every night. Worked out great for 6 people.

Snowmobiling around Pickerel Wisconsin.

We had a great time. The trails were great all weekend! It was a cold start with below zero temps but Saturday was nice around 20 degrees. The cabin was clean. They had everything needed for an enjoyable stay. It would be nice if there was a good access area to get on/off the lake with the snowmobiles but we made the best of the one spot we could find to get on/off the lake. It was a fun weekend for all of us.

Outdoor fun!

The outdoor opportunities were fantastic; pontoon, fishing, water activities, camp fires, wildlife, etc. As mentioned, Pickerel Lake is not great for swimming-too many weeds. Dan, the owner was readily available via phone and quickly provided solutions when the septic alarm sounded and an issue arose with the pontoon. Cleanliness of the cottage did not meet our expectations.

Peaceful Family Retreat!

This was our second year forgoing our usual vacation at a resort or amusement park to do an "Unplugged Week" at a lakeside cabin. The one we rented last year was booked, so we decided to give this rental a try based upon the privacy of the property and the inclusion of the pontoon. We were not disappointed! Everything was clean and as described. The place was stocked with everything we needed, with the the exception of a flyswatter and kitchen shears/scissors. (But no big deal)! It was great to have a washer & dryer and air conditioning. We did notice that the AC didn't seem to cool the master bedroom as well as the other bedroom upstairs, so we just slept with the door open and the ceiling fan on in that room. While the inside of the cabin is great, we didn't spend much time there! During rainy patches, the kids watched movies they found in the upstairs bedroom and we played a lot of games of Clue. But if it wasn't raining, we were outside. Our 11yo is an avid fisherman and he fished on the dock from sunrise to sunset. My husband also fished, and my daughter and I spent a lot of time lying on the back of the docked pontoon catching some sun, reading, and watching the guys fish. Over the course of 5 days, the guys caught well over 100 panfish off the dock. The cloudy, rainy day was the best fishing -- tons of panfish, a big large mouth, and a Northern. Although the lake is pretty weedy, the water off the dock is shallow and clear, and both kids swam and kayaked there. The best thing by far about this rental is the pontoon boat. In late morning, the fish stopped biting around the dock so we'd take the boat out to fish in other spots. (Didn't have much luck fishing off the boat)! We also hooked up the tube and took the kids tubing a couple of times. We'd never tubed from a pontoon and didn't know if it would be fast enough, but it was a blast! We'd also go for a ride every night after dinner, sometimes to fish and sometimes to just relax and explore the rest of the lake. We saw loons, muskrats, and bald eagles. We only left the cabin twice -- once to get groceries in Crandon and once to have dinner at the Water's Edge Lodge on Lake Lucerne (Good food, free wifi) -- so we don't have any suggestions for other things to do in the area. The owners were great. We texted Dan with a couple of minor questions when we arrived and he was very quick to respond both times. Overall, this is a great place to stay and we'd definitely like to come back!

A nice experience for the family

We spent a week with 4 adults and 3 children and had a good time. The home is well-kept and navigating the bathroom area was not a problem. It is a small home but adequate for 6 people. The kitchen was pretty nice with appropriate appliances and adequate utensils and cookware. There is not much to do around the area for kids apart from water activities on the lake. A trip to Eagle River for a tube float down the Wisconsin River and a dinner out with shopping was a good move. Antigo is good for mid-sized town basic shopping and groceries. Local quick marts have some basics and it’s only a short drive for bait, gas, ice, and misc items. The fishing was not what we hoped for on Pickerel but was still fun. We cast each day for several hours using mostly spinner baits with chartreuse skirts and flashy silver spoons in areas where the weeds were a bit deeper. The whole lake is quite shallow with only a few deeper areas. Trolling with minnows or worm rigs is not really an option with so many weeds. We caught around 50 pike but most were in the 12”-18” range....cigars....fishing mostly in 3’-4’ of weed flats and around the backside of the small island on the SW side of the northern section of the lake. Caught 4 keeper pike around 24” and one LM Bass that was 19”. Also caught around 20 smallies....usually around the edges of bountiful Lilly pads. All were between 10”-14”....no keepers. The dock is actually quite fun to mess around with fishing. Worms and a small hook with bobber catch bluegill in just seconds. Get cheap crappie minnows from the gas station and catch some nice crappies ranging from 6”-10” along with an occasional perch or even a smallie off the edges of the lilies. Even caught a couple pike off the dock. The boat is very nice and ran great for fishing, cruising, and tubing. Live well is great and the provided tube holds three persons and is great fun. There is not very much storage for food items so bring bins or boxes to keep food organized. It might be nice to have shelving or even a storage cabinet installed where the controls for the AC are located. All in all, it was a nice experience for the whole family to experience nature and time together. Do yourself a favor and don’t count on the internet to entertain everyone. It is sufficient to check email or take care of some business, but may cause some strife if the kids want to be on it all the time. Unplug and be with each itger for fun and games and margin.

Snowmobiling weekend on Pickerel Lake.

The house was clean and had adequate amenities. You have to back the trucks and trailers down the driveway which is certainly not ideal! The house is advertised as a 3 bedroom, 4 beds which can sleep 9. There are only 2 bedrooms and 3 beds! That was a problem for us. The TV is upstairs and in a very small room where the 5 of us could not watch the TV so we went to a bar to watch the football game. A more accurate description of this property will be greatly appreciated by future renters I am sure. Everything else was fine.

We love this lake and community, and are excited to share our cottage with you so your family can create lifelong memories of your own.

Our cottage combines Northwoods ambiance, water access, and a new pontoon boat with our completely renovated property. Upgrades throughout make for a comfortable stay for your entire group, and a setting perfect for making lifelong memories.

What makes this property unique

The cottage comes with a brand new Pontoon boat, on-site laundry and sleeps up to 8 people. It is a nearly new building as it was completely rebuilt in 2014, and remodeled with modern amenities in 2021. Includes great views of the lake with good fishing and water access right off the dock.

For winter visitors, we are right on the ATV Trail Route! You can use the blacktop Pickerel Lake road (subject to a 25 mile per hour posted ATV speed limit) to connect to the off-road trails that start approximately 2.5 miles to the west. You can get to the Augustyn Spring trails from there (maybe two miles further-on off-road trails). This connects to the White Lake ATV Trails. You can venture further west and hook up with the Parrish Highlands ATV Trails. Alternatively you can go east on Pickerel Lake Road and connect with the Nicolet State ATV trail.

We are also right on the Snowmobile Trail! Unload your sled and you are ready to venture across the state on your snowmobile.
