About the host
Hosted by Jeanette Folwell
We are Rob and Jeanette Folwell, a husband and wife team who moved to the glorious Lincolnshire Wolds in 2007. Rob a retired Inspector from Leicestershire Police wanted to create a self catering holiday business to enable us to work together, so we purchased and created Greetham Retreat.
We truly enjoy our jobs and consider it a pleasure to meet the wonderful people who choose to stay with us here at Greetham Retreat. The area is so friendly and welcoming, something we noticed immediately and our guests often comment on.
Jeanette has worked within customer service since leaving school and we try to make your whole experience of Greetham Retreat memorable for all the right reasons. We visit lots of attractions and pubs, coffee shops and restaurants so we can confidently recommend them based on our experiences, the best way we think. We also provide lots of visitor attraction leaflets and keep this as up to date as possible. A large Ordnance Survey map covers one wall of our information room and a large folder of walks and cycling routes are available to guests too. These are so important to help you find all the great places on offer here in friendly and uncrowded Lincolnshire.

Why they chose this property
We discovered this unloved and derelict crew yard and lovingly restored and converted it into a complex of five luxurious self catering cottages with the accommodation being set in over 4 acres of natural grounds. Sitting a 100 meters above sea level and in the Lincolnshire Wolds AONB (designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty).
Our vision was to create a rural haven for our guests to enjoy with natural features such as wildlife ponds, wildflower meadows. We also planted over 650 deciduous trees in 2008 to create a large woodland and glades. Plenty of seating is dotted around the grounds to enable you to rest and drink in the far reaching views over the Lincolnshire Wolds, including a large picnic table and benches made from some fallen trees and old roof timbers from the barn.
We are located centrally between the City of Lincoln and everything this vibrant city has to offer and the beautiful coastline with it's famous resort of Skegness and it's much quieter sandy beaches, all of which are dog friendly.
We live on site but 100 meters away from the holiday cottages which was also important. Close enough to be available for helpful advice and ideas but far enough away to allow you the uninterrupted freedom and relaxation you may be looking for.

What makes this property unique
The views from Greetham Retreat are truly stunning as you can see for miles over the Lincolnshire Wolds with it's undulating hillsides and ever changing arable fields. A large network of public footpaths, bridlepaths and quiet country lanes make this area a fabulous place to explore either by walking, cycling or even driving.
