About Wayne Graves
We are both avid Silent Sports Enthusiasts who enjoy this magnificent outdoor playground of Duluth on a daily basis. Eve is originally from Southern Wisconsin and a huge Badger and Packer fan. Wayne is from the Proctor area which is just outside of Duluth. We Mountain bike, road bike, paddle, run, row, Nordic ski and do anything else that is silently powered by us in the outdoors on a daily basis. Eve has written articles for Silent Sports Magazine for the past twelve years along with blogging on Northlandrunner. In addition, she has been the top ski trail reporter for Skinnyski for the past few years! Wayne has been working for Super One stores for thirty years and enjoys his job! Eve who was formerly a teacher and accountant, now coaches adults who are beginners and those who like to go slowly in running roads, trails, and Nordic skiing. Both Eve and Wayne officiate at the state Nordic and Cross Country meets along with volunteering for all of Grandma's events. Eve also times a lot of silent sports events, takes photos at many of them, and puts a few on.
Wayne Graves purchased this House in 2004
Why Wayne Graves chose East Hillside
We lived here until recently when we moved ten miles away to be able to walk out the front door and into several parks, the Superior Hiking Trail, and have some land.
What makes this House unique
This property is centrally located and has safe indoor storage for all those Silent Sports toys along with a waxing area and bench for Nordic skis. UMD, St. Scholastica, Chester Bowl, Bagley and Lake Superior are all within a mile of this house! Our website details how close we are to so many other outdoor playgrounds!
100% refund if cancelled at least 60 days before arrival date.
September weekend stay
Overall we had good stay. Only issue maybe bigger coffee pot.
Second time stay
This is a no nonsense, clean, comfortable place to stay with easy access to Duluth, Superior and the North Shore. The library of retro VHS tapes is a blast. We have stay twice for golf and hiking outings with 5-6 people and fit perfectly.
We enjoyed our stay.
Thank you Eve and Wayne.
Very nice stay
We got what was advertised ,clean comfortable house. The only problem was they need to upgrade the TV other than that it was awesome place and location.
Nothing fancy. Not too modern technology wise. No internet. Few plugins. Clean. There really is only one bath the half bath is really a weird toilet in the basement. With our group we could of used another bathroom. Parking in the garage was nice. Eve was good to work with.
Tammy's group arrived four hours later than our 7pm check in time so we were unable to properly check them in. Unfortunately it appears that the long email we sent with house information went unread. We are non technology house that allows you to spend time visiting with your guests, playing games, reading books, communicating instead of staring at the TV or a computer which is clearly written in our description. We do have hundreds of VHS tapes and at least 25 DVD's too along with local TV. The Pink Throne with the unique reading materials in the basement bathroom is a highlight for many of our guests! There are at least two places to plug things in, in each bedroom in the house and more in the other rooms which I could have shown the guests had they asked us. We also have many power strips at the house people are able to use. We would have been happy to show them had they let us know!
The Place worked well for our brief stay in Duluth. It was great we were able to bring our 2 dogs with. It was a hot week-end and it would have been nice to have had air conditioning in the bed rooms. Otherwise a good place.
We have air conditioning and offered it but you declined. We would have been happy to come back and put it in if you would have asked.
Silent Sports lovers will have a plethora of magnificent mostly free trails and lakes to explore less than a mile to 30 minutes away. Waxing bench, extra bikes and skis available upon request. See website for more information. 2 night minimum set by the city from Sept 15th to June 14th 5 night minimum from June 15th to Sept 14th
