Vintage Bungalow - 1 Block to Beach Acesss

This charming beach bungalow was built in 1942 and it resides in a soulful tropical yard in the best neighborhood of Encinitas. City permit number: RNTL-007058-2016. The yard and home speak of relaxation but the ocean beckons. The living and dining areas are open and accommodate a family gathering comfortably. Each bedroom has a queen sized bed with closet and plenty of storage. There is also a third bdrm. with a comfy queen sleeper sofa.

The remodeled galley kitchen is a chef's dream with granite counters, stainless appliances, six burner gas stove and complete drawer of spices for gourmets. The dining area seats 8 comfortably and a trifold door opens onto the deck overlooking a large tropical yard which is incorporated into the living area. There is a BBQ and outdoor shower on the side patio, and off street parking is on the rear of property The property is shared with the constant gardener and hubby who live in the cottage at the back of the large yard, they are the owners and very friendly and helpful if needed.

Very cool Encinitas home

Great home, perfect fit for our needs. Close to all Encinitas has to offer and a short walk or drive to where ever we wanted to go. Would definitely stay there again. Wonderful hosts!

Perfect getaway!

We had the best stay at this quaint and magical bungalow home. Wendy and Paul were the most gracious and we couldn’t have asked for better hosts. The location was a perfect walk to the beach, restaurants/bars and shops. The place had everything we needed. Porch hangs and spacious yard for bbq’s were such a bonus for us. We can’t wait to stay here again!

Our family stayed in the beautiful Mermaid Serenity for the first time! We celebrated Thanksgiving with our entire family, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience! Wendy & Paul’s home is warm and comfortable, just like being at home! The best vacation rental EVER!!!!

Wonderful small neighborhood vibe within walking distance of Moonlight State Beach and ocean cliffs for sunsets and surfer viewing. Lots of local dining options. Well equipped kitchen, comfortable bedrooms. Beautiful gardens. Cozy Christmas decorations.

Home away from home

This is a very special place. Three bedrooms, so lots of room; offers so many details- a few yoga mats if you want one, a selection of beach towels, a tray for if you want breakfast in bed, boogie board or two, bbq cookout grill-- all including a lovely private yard with lush,exotic plants and an outdoor table. We absolutely loved it. On street parking wasn't difficult

Wendy and Paul are warm, welcoming hosts, available and easy to communicate with. Wonderful, comfortable, cozy home stocked with absolutely everything you could need and amazing yard/landscaping. Wendy and Paul are welcoming, warm and available hosts. Neighborhood is close to beach, great tacos, Italian cuisine, coffee shops etc. . Perfect location for us, a family with 2 young children. Would definitely recommend this great spot!

Encinitas at its best

The house felt like home. Anything and everything we needed was right there in the home. The owners and the house were warm and welcoming. We were in town for only four nights visiting family with my brother-in-law and sister-in-law. Wish we had more time to enjoy the grounds of the house. It had beautiful flowers and trees; perfectly charming. The house was situated within short walking distance of two access points to the Pacific and to downtown Encinitas. This was the best experience we have had with an out-of-town rental. Wendy and Paul are wonderful.

Perfect!

This charming bungalow was exactly what we were looking for. So relaxing and comfortable. The garden was beautiful and we enjoyed the deck with the folding door from the dining area. The location was a pleasant short walk to restaurants and the beach. Everything we needed for cooking or grilling was at our fingertips. Wendy and Paul were so pleasant and unobtrusive. I would recommend this lovely property highly!!

One of the best rental experiences you will ever have

This amazing property is clearly loved and cared for by its owners, and that translates to those lucky enough to stay here. The house is a perfect blend of modern and traditional and is immaculate, homey, roomy, and has everything you could ever imagine needing. The grounds are immaculately kept and gorgeous. The area is convenient to everything, but also quiet and off the beaten path. Easy walk to beaches, town, restaurants, etc. We have stayed in many rental properties, and this one is now at the top of our favorites list.

Seaside Serenity

This beautiful Craftsman home has the charm and coziness for those seeking a beach retreat with plenty of small town charm. Walking distance to dining, coffee shops and the beach made the location ideal. The gorgeous dining room extends into the patio via a large bi-fold glass door. Our family thoroughly enjoyed dining el fresco with the warm weather and ocean breeze. Our host, Wendy, provides a well stocked kitchen for those who love to cook on vacation also. Thank you for providing such a warm welcome to our family. We shall see you again!

Beautiful Property

This property is exactly as described! The location is perfect in very walkable area. The house is well maintained and has everything a family needs. The backyard garden is gorgeous! There are plenty of restaurants, ice cream shops, coffee shops, and bars within a short distance. You can walk to the moonlight beach access in a few minutes. It's also close to the touristy places like the SD Zoo and Legoland. Finally, Wendy and Paul are superb hosts! They provided us with plenty of recommendations in the area and we're quick to answer questions when we had them. We loved our stay and will definitely be back!

So Glad we Found the Mermaid Serenity Vacation Home

Staying at Wendy and Paul's vacation home was such a treat! Their lovely home and beautiful relaxing grounds were such a delight to spend time at. Everything is well thought out to accommodate just about any need, so don't bring it, they probably have it. The home was very clean, well maintained and comfy; it was like a home away from home. This was a great place to experience California beach living; walking distance to just about anywhere in the beach community of Encinitas. Wendy and Paul are great hosts; very warm and welcoming. We can't wait to come back!

Beautiful home in the heart of Encinitas

This was our favourite property stay yet. Paul and Wendy were so kind and gracious. My favourite thing about this property is it is a true home- not just a vacation rental, so the house has true amenities. We have to cook at home due to our children's allergies, so we really appreciate having a fully functioning kitchen! Our children absolutely adored having a yard- it was such a treat for us Canadians to play barefoot in February! The house is so quiet, and it's harder to hear the train from here than other places we've stayed. It was the ideal place to rest, and a quick walk to Stone Steps or Moonlight. I can't wait to come back!

Beautiful yard

The house is a bit older than I anticipated, and hosts are closer to the house than I realized. Wendy and Paul are wonderful though and put out everything we needed for the kids. She even had ducks in the fountain and scooters for them to play on. They were friendly, but also gave us privacy. I was a little concerned about our noise from kids inside as I could hear us well from outside. Off street parking wasn’t obvious, but is available from the back. It was easier to park on the street. The neighborhood is beautiful and so close to both stone steps beach and moonlight. We walked many times. It was nice to feel surrounded by locals instead of just tourists. The yard was gorgeous and the kids enjoyed playing in it. It wasn’t completely fenced off like I thought, meaning the toddler could get out and made us extra cautious. The home is cozy, linens and towels were clean and comfortable. We had some cleanliness issues that could have been better, but informed Wendy and sounds like will be resolved. There were also ants in the kitchen if there were any crumbs. The house is a bit cluttered, but does have anything you might need. Overall, we really enjoyed the area and our stay.

Perfect!

Perfect older home charm with modern updates. This property had everything you could possibly need. Very well maintained property and the hosts Wendy and Paul are very welcoming. Quiet neighborhood and close to the beach. Landscaping made you feel like you are in your own oasis. Absolutely beautiful. Very happy with our choice of vacation property.
