Ham's House is a beautiful barn conversion situated on the owner's smallholding on the outskirts of Milson near Cleobury Mortimer in Shropshire and can sleep two people in one king-size double bedroom. The property also has shower room. The rest of the barn conversion contains an open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area with woodburning stove. To the outside there is off road parking for two cars and a patio with furniture. The area has an abundance of walks and there are cycling trails in the Mortimer Forest. With Tenbury Wells and Luldow nearby, Ham's House is an ideal base for a romantic retreat.
Amenities: Electric underfloor heating with woodburning stove. Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, TV with Freeview, DVD, radio, WiFi (no streaming), selection of books, games and DVDs. Fuel, power and starter pack for stove inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Off road parking for 2 cars. Lockable bike storage. Patio with furniture. Use of the owner's tennis court by prior arrangement (rackets and balls not supplied). Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shop 3 miles, pub 2 miles. Note: The owner has dogs that roam in the grounds. Note: the property is 3 miles from the nearest bus stop, so may not be suitable for people who do not drive.
Region: A E Houseman once wrote that Shropshire was “the quietest place under the sun” and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as one of the least crowded and most peaceful regions in England.
Town: The small village of Milson boasts an 11th century church and beautiful unspoilt countryside. The nearby riverside village of Neen Sollars dates back to the Saxon times and is home to the popular 'Live and Let Live' pub serving real ale and home-cooked food. Just three miles away, beneath the shadow of the mystical Clee Hills, the pretty town of Cleobury Mortimer provides a refreshing selection of shops, pubs and restaurants in an array of Georgian and Tudor architecture, along with a striking parish church with an unusual, twisted spire.
