Nice villa with a nice pool between the mountains close to Rome city center
Nice villa with a nice pool in a nice place if you like nature and want to see city center of Rome. Very friendly host. Only be prepared for mosquito's.
- Friendly and helpful host
- very authentic villa with lots of space and typical furniture
- Kitchen with good equipment
- Great view from the villa over a magnificent landscape
- great garden, for our use only
- refreshing and clean pool, host takes good care of it
merci d'avance
Beautiful setting for a relaxing stay in Italian countryside
The house is a very solidly built and is quite well appointed inside. There is air-conditioning only in the one larger bedroom downstairs; the room up on the mezzanine has only a ceiling fan and tends to stay hot even with windows opened. There are bug screens on all doors and windows and the door hardware is incredibly solid and the house can be zipped up very securely. Eugenio, the owners son, did emphasize the need to lock the place up if you were away for the day in Rome for example. The pool and the deck chairs etc are wonderful. The pool isn't heated but the water temperature was always warm.
The location is convenient for Rome (we went in by train one day which was very easy and cheap (7 euros each I think) with free parking at the station (Gavignano Sabino) and a travel time of about an hour. At that time masks were still mandatory on trains which we had been blissfully unaware of until sitting maskless on the train!
The other trip we made to Rome we drove as we were taking in some of the outlying sites like Ostia. Again about an hour on the toll roads (which are not expensive btw). Ostia btw is amazing (they compare it to Pompeii and I can see why!)
We did a trip to Orvieto which is an incredibly beautiful hilltop town with castles, cathedral, Etruscan tombs and its stunning well with its double spiral staircases.
A longer drive got us to Montepulciano in Tuscany. My daughter is a huge "Twilight" fan and this very picturesque town was featured in the show. Did a wine tour at a winery in the village which had amazing underground cellars.
Casperia itself is unremarkable and restaurants of note are kind of lacking anything of interest.
The little village of Rocchette was worth the half hour drive. Nearby to there is a ruined castle of some size.
All in all a lovely place to stay and we all thoroughly enjoyed the house and pool.
When leaving we were suddenly asked to pay an additional 24euros "for internet". Internet was always included in the rental cost so we politely declined their offer; it did however leave a bit of a sour note to our stay.

Awesome house in the middle of fruit and olive trees
We moved in the house after a hectic week spent at Roma. We felt immediately at home, everybody finding what they were looking for: reading, swimming pool, walks amid the trees. We discovered this beautiful region of Lazio on the advice of Stefano and Gabriela, which is not yet invaded by tourists.
Our hosts took care of us as if we had been long time friends and we sincerely thank them for their presence and help in any case.
We do recommend this amazing place and will definitely come back as soon as we can.

Excellent villa, beautiful views, lovely pool
We spent an amazing week in this villa, the house has lots of space for children and adults to play and relax in and the terrace has beautiful views over the valley and across to the hill villages. Stefano, Gabriela and Eugenio were very welcoming but not intrusive. The pool was great for both children and adults, a good depth but with a shallow end for smaller children.
