The beautiful 13th-century stone farmhouse is set on a knoll just 2km from the picturesque medieval hilltown of Cetona (one of “the most beautiful villages of Italy”). Pencil-thin Italian cypress punctuate the vistas surrounding the farmhouse, with views of olive groves, grapevines, and fields, as well as Cetona itself lying on the next hill. We have furnished the second floor of our home as a charming and very comfortable 2-bedroom apartment with private entrance. The double rooms have 2 or 3 windows that make them light and views, each with its own bathroom. They have air conditioning and heat pump, equipped with fine linen.
You have cozy kitchenette and spacious dining room. The apartment has a gentle beauty; time has worked its magic to give a warm patina to the terracotta floors, wood doors and shutters with their original hardware, high timbered ceilings, and large stone fireplace in the dining room. Lovely antiques and country furniture add to the charm. The two en-suite bathrooms are modern. The large lawn surrounded by cypresses, is equipped with deck chairs and table for the guests.Cetona itself is well worth an extended visit – off the beaten track but with a lovely warren of narrow cobblestone streets and staircases that wind through the little town, and two outstanding restaurants (Nilo and Merlo). Cetona is well located for visiting other interesting hilltowns such as Montepulciano, Pienza, Orvieto, Panicale, and more.
The apartment consists of 2 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and large living room with fireplace and 3 large windows, furnished with sofa, dining table, antique furniture. The kitchen, in the ancient Tuscan style, is equipped with stove, sink, refrigerator and washing machine. It's possible to add 1 bed for child per room.
At Caio you can eat: Eleanor and Stephen, who live on the ground floor of the house, are happy to let you taste the typical dishes of Tuscany and cook pasta, bread and cakes made by hand, roasted duck, goose, chicken and pork vegetables and vegetables from the garden, barbecue and grilled Florentine.
