The perfect end to our 2-month stay in Italy.
Livia’s Cetona cottage was one of the true highlights of our trip. First, the location is ideal. The cottage and its terraced gardens provide the peaceful setting and views of the Tuscan countryside, with easy access to many fine walks; at the same time, it is a quick walk into Cetona, one of the loveliest Tuscan villages we visited—as it is a real community not centered on the tourist trade. Second, the cottage itself is wonderful. It has a comfortable sitting room, a separate room with a table that serves well as a desk, indoor breakfast room, a comfortable bed in a cozy upstairs bedroom, and outdoor gazebo and sheltered dining table—thus providing lots of spaces to read, write, nap, eat, etc. The kitchen was easily the best stocked of all the homes we rented during our travels. Plenty of pots & pans, serving bowls & platters, and (especially appreciated) a well-stocked spice rack. Finally, Livia is a true host who made us feel welcome in a home she obviously cares for and loves. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine and other thoughtful amenities—a variety of teas, coffee, milk and juice in the fridge. She also arranged for the cottage to be tidied up while we were still there. And mostly, we enjoyed meeting Livia, hearing a bit about the history of Cetona, talking books and discovering areas of mutual interest. The best part of traveling—making genuine connections with the people met along the way.

Beautiful cottage, stunning village
The property was beautiful, well equipped, and exactly as described. The housekeeper was very helpful and the owner was very generous with information and with equipment at the cottage.
