Amazing village stay off the beaten path
We spent 2 nights here on our way to Umbria. Very responsive and kind owner who was so accommodating and easy to communicate with before/during our stay. The home is so beautiful and exactly as described. The village is very small, with kind and helpful residents and not touristy. I would highly recommend this stay to anyone looking for somewhere off the beaten path especially in peak holiday seasons. Would love to return one day!
We had a wonderful stay at Anna’s place! We loved hearing the church bells every day. The house has the most incredible view. I 100% recommend this house.
This is a very tiny village with no shopping for extras; however, it does have a wonderful bakery, a few restaurants, an ATM, and a small grocery store. There is a wonderful restaurant owned by a wonderful older couple that is well worth the visit. The house itself is great. If we come back to this area, we would definitely stay here again. The homeowner even has toys for small children. I really can't say enough good things about the house, the facilities, etc. It is a very peaceful place to stay and there is privacy for everyone. We really loved it. The only thing that I would say that is possibly negative goes to me - really read the guide book that the owner has prepared. I read the guidebook, but I really only scanned it for the information that I was interested in. The hot water heater went out on our last night there and if I had truly read the information, I could have fixed it within 5 minutes, instead of 15 minutes. So, the problem was clearly with me - so my advise is read! Finally, the owner is very responsive and is just a kind person. I think you will enjoy doing business with her and will enjoy your stay here.
A really beautiful house in a lovely Tuscan village. The house has everything you need and the views from the roof terrace are simply stunning. Montiano is also a great base for touring southern Tuscany where there is loads to see and gorgeous beaches only a few kilometers away. However, the highlight every day was knowing we were going back to that roof terrace with those views, sharing some wine and watching the swallows zoom around the rooftops. Also, Anna Maria is a fantastic host. So helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. She gave us some great tips about where to go and what to see. I cannot recommend this property highly enough. If you are looking for somewhere special to stay in the area and you are lucky enough to find this house free, book it. You wont be disappointed!
Charming and Authentic
We had a wonderful one-week stay in Montiano. The apartment was large (over three floors), charming, romantic and authentic. It felt like walking into the past, while the apartment was still modern and well-equipped. The roof terrace was a wonderful place for both breakfast and a glass of wine in the evening. The apartment was the perfect place if you look for a stay in a peaceful medieval Tuscan village "at the top of the hill". The owner, Manitta, was friendly and helpful.
Perfect accommodation for excellent holiday
Our big 3 generation family with grandparents and 5 children ranged 5 - 17 spent unforgettable 2 weeks at this apartment. We all were happy in Montiano and enjoyed holidays to full. Brilliant location gives possibility to visit Florence, Siena, Rome, Pisa, and many other wonderful places. Sea is seen from the window. The views are breathtaking. Local people are very friendly and ready to help. There are playgrounds and a football field. We felt safe and welcome in this wonderful place.
The apartment is spacious and really authentic. All the modern conveniences and facilities are available. Wi-Fi is available at the Cafe- Bar nearby, where stuff is very helpful and friendly.
The owner was informative, respectful, was there when required and knowledgeable of the area.
Wish you to enjoy your holidays as we did!
