Peaceful lake vacation
We loved Coles Pond! So tranquil so quiet. Thankfully no fast boats or jet skis here! House was comfortable. Owners were gracious and communicative. Would definitely return again!

Nothing beats Vermont fall colors
We loved: being next to Cole's Pond; the canoe, the directions to get there (lots of dirt/gravel roads), the beautiful fall colors, tge alpaca lady/neighbors, the mountain top cafe/goat lady, the firepit and BBQ grill, tge local maple syrup, the local corn maze, Concerns: home was not clean (we thoroughly cleaned coffee pot, some dishes) as the windows were extremely dirty and there was fur left around. Upstairs had spider webs and the bed was box springs/mattress on the floor (no bed frame), kitchen was sparsely supplied and every time we used oven the smoke alarm went off (not our fault, nothing burning). We finally figured out how to watch our DVDs but no volume control on any remote worked. No voice cell service (we have Verizon), but texts came through and internet worked most of the time. Despite these few issues, We did enjoy our stay and would love to return. We do recommend the cabin. It does have close by neighbors on both sides as another review mentioned but they are hidden by the trees. Thanks for letting us stay! Monti

Vacation on the lake
Overall experience was great. Very friendly owner who responded quickly and to the point on all of our questions and requests. On-line description does not give you impression that you'll have neighbors on both sides of the property in very close proximity. We were lucky, though, and there were no actual people in both properties next to the house during our stay.

A day at Cozy Cabin.
Wake to the loons. Coffee on the deck. Stroll through wild flowers and butterflies. Chat with friendly neighbors. Swim and paddle the pond. Soak up the sun on the dock. Kick back with your favorite read. Sunset dinners on the deck. All the stars in the universe. Drift off to sleep, again with the loons. Repeat..

About the host

A native of New England. As a child, I spent many summer vacations on Lake Willoughby (not too far from here). There's nothing like starting your day with a cup of coffee and sitting by the lake. Even if it's a bit cool, just wrap up in a blanket and watch the loons and the ducks swim by. Day trips to Stowe and surrounding areas are always fun. But, there's nothing like coming home to Coles Pond. Start up the grill, get out some crackers and cheese, a cool drink and watch the sunset; and you just might catch a glimpse of a moose taking a dip across the water! You never know what you might find here!

Why they chose this property

Walden Mountain is nature at it's best and right on the water.

What makes this property unique

It's beautiful - out in the middle of no where (seemingly). It's great for fishing, kayaking, swimming and relaxing. At the same time, it's close to shopping, Barre Granite Quarry & Museum, St. Johnsbury Atheneum, Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream home site & free tour (Waterbury), Cabot Cheese Factory, Stowe, The Von Trapp Family Lodge, Mt. Mansfield Chairlift rides and Alpine Slide, country stores (all sides approach), hiking and more.
