Beautiful VT Farmhouse. If you are looking for a truly VT place to stay this is it lovely renovated farmhouse sitting right on a little Vermont pond close to everything you like to do hiking biking sightseeing right in the heart of the northeast kingdom in Cabot Vermont if you’re looking for white walls, chrome and square rooms keep scrolling. This is the second time we rented this house for our family and we would not put our family up in anything but the best Kathy Matthews.
Absolutely love this house and the location. Visited with my wife, dog and parents. Complete relaxation. Used the kayaks most days and fished from the canoe and row boat. Sadly no fish were caught but I'm sure they enjoyed the supply of fresh worms! I'd highly recommend.
Enjoyed our weeks stay, as always. Beautiful farmhouse with everything you can think of for kitchen facilities and a beautiful water view. This very much feels like a family lives here. And the West Hill Pond is right out your back door, a pristine and private pond that is as large as many lakes and totally private. Only 4 or so houses on the entire pond. We particularly enjoyed a daily canoe around the pond and the call of the loons. Unique home and location.
Had so much fun at this VRBO stay. It was an idyllic Vermont summer stay with beautiful views and overwhelming calmness. The house is filled with charm and fascinating artwork. Cute towns nearby. Would recommend staying here.
My family including grandchildren totally enjoyed our second stay. The farmhouse, property and the loons on the private pond made this an amazing vacation.
I really enjoyed my stay at Heather's Farmhouse! It is beautifully decorated and the large kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need. The beds are very comfortable with nice linens.
The pond is quiet with lots of wildlife. Sunsets at night were very pretty.
I hope I can stay there again next summer!
Our second stay at the pond house and we couldn't love it more!! Beautiful, peaceful scenery. The loon family was wonderful to observe. We swam, fished, canoed. The house is so comfy and spacious. The kitchen has everything you can ever want!! The area has nice hiking trails and the town center has stores for basic needs. A perfect getaway!
I stayed with my wife and two young children at Heather’s home. The house was beautiful and spacious, a lot of great artwork and creative details. The toy closet was great for the kids. The location is a little far from some of the major ski trails and shopping areas, but is perfect if you’re looking to stay by the pond and cook in most days. Our family would definitely stay again.
The home was charming and warm and had a designer touch. There were antiques and artwork and beautiful ceramics The floors were lovely with hooked rugs and orientalsThe kitchen has all you need..The beds were very comfortable. The views of the pond were just beautiful. The pond is very clean.I was hoping for no TV or phone servie but this had both. The Cabot road has a few places where the edge of the road has deteriorated due to the flood.Pay attention and drive in the middle when possible

Quaint, rustic, historic house
The view of the pond is beautiful. We enjoyed our stay but there were a few things we were disappointed in. The kitchen was very nice and well-appointed but could use a deep clean and brighter lighting over the island and kitchen table. Being March, it was very cold and windy the first few days we were there. Both the front and back kitchen doors blew open a few times. Like many old homes, there is no heat upstairs so the two upstairs bedrooms were chilly. The downstairs bath has a clawfoot tub/shower with a curtain that tends to stick to you while showering. The upstairs bath is more recently renovated and easier to shower in. I'm not sure why I didn't notice that there are no photos of the bathrooms in the VRBO listing. The washer and dryer are in the basement which is fine but the basement foundation walls were covered with dead mice which startled me.
I was surprised to read some of the checkout/cleaning requirements posted on the refrigerator. I really wish that VRBO would require full disclosure in the rental listing. I've never before been asked to wipe down the bathrooms or put all the clean dishes away. Typically, running the dishwasher, wiping down counters and sweeping are required.
As an FYI, the Headwaters Restaurant & Pub in Cabot is permanently closed but the Cabot Village Store is very convenient. It's open everyday and has long hours.
Great Vermont location and an excellent Vrbo experience.....our first! Had excellent communication with the host when needing to make a change ----adding a pet to the trip.

Beautiful surroundings but house was dirty and needed repairs. Downstairs bathroom had mildew on shower curtain, dirty rug, and toilet seat fell off. There was no water pressure for showers. The house itself was roomy and comfortable.
Fully equipped kitchen. Very pet friendly. Beautiful views. The decore in the living area was a bit odd. Very scary for my almost 3 year old granddaughter. I would recommend replacing the African masks and other stuff with something a little less creepy. A couple of pieces are included. The kitchen is beautiful. We spent a lot of time in there. The claw foot tub in downstairs bathroom was not used. Not easily accessible for my mom and aunt as they are in their 70’s. The view of the lake is beautiful.

Place was very dusty and many cobwebs. Location is nice with view of the pond, but roads getting around could be a little tricky. Comfort of beds left some to be desired. But sitting looking out main windows was delightful and sitting on the dock was great.

The farmhouse did appear to be recently renovated but the house smelled terrible. Seemed to be a combination of the very old furniture and the water. The property is obviously on a well and the water smelled terrible, especially in the downstairs bathroom. Would not recommend.
Beautiful home & setting. Responsive host. Loved being on the pond & having access to the kayaks. Many amenities. We had a great time at the Cabot cheese & fall festival.
Love this beautiful farmhouse. So relaxing, peaceful, quiet and the beauty of the pond is amazing. The loons are extra special. The home has everything you need for a fabulous vacation away in Vermont.
Wow! We had the best time at Heather’s house. The home is charming, comfortable, well equipped, and perfect for a family. Our kids had so much fun fishing and swimming in the pond. My favorite aspect of this home is lots of privacy and unbelievably views of the water from the kitchen and living room. Thank you Heather!
The pond and the pond access are amazing. Love how quiet it is. I wish I had had more time to read out there by the water. Thanks for a wonderful venue and very easy stay.
