Excellent experience highly recommend!

Everything was great, prime location, kindest host, clean appartement, very quite. I would definitely return here and highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a place in Lyon.

The perfect apartment

Michael and Julie have thought of everything for this perfect rooftop apartment. It has everything you need. Views on four sides, a balcony, a washer and drying rack, a dishwasher, bags to take shopping to pick up your bread and pastries, your choice of coffee machines, Lyon guidebooks and maps and more. And everything was clean and comfortable. Just bring your clothes and a love of food and exploring a wonderful city and know each night you can climb up to your roof top home where city noises almost disappear and you just hear church bells and birds and enjoy roof top views. Michael and Julie answered any and all questions. They were there for check-in and check-out and left a number of nice personal touches. Loved the homemade jam. It is a number of flights of stairs to the apartment but it’s what will allow you to enjoy all the wonderful restaurants and cafés the city has to offer and ensure you get a quiet night’s sleep. Michael will help you bring your luggage up and bring your luggage down when you leave. But really don’t pack too much as there’s not a lot of closet space and you have everything you need already there in this smartly designed and furnished apartment.

Very comfortable in all ways.

My wife and I stayed in this flat Sept 24 to the 27th 2018. The place is clean and well organized. Our hosts Julie and Mickael were very helpful and in our opinion doing a great job. The fact that it is on the roof gives you a 360' view and also makes it airy. The only thing to consider is the steps to get to the door as there is no elevator in the building. It is walking distance to everything you need. We had a wonderful time exploring Lyon. Thanks again Julie and Mickael. Sal & Cindy Montreal Quebec

Fantastic well designed apartment

We had an amazing five days in Lyon thanks to Michael and his well informed knowledge of the town. The flat is beautiful with amazing views in the heart of Lyon, walking distance to anywhere you choose. Lots to see and do in the immediate vicinity of the flat. Very airy (7 windows) apartment and good bed. Stairs would be a challenge if you're not fit but Michael will carry your luggage for you! Bonus! Would recommend this apartment to family and friends.

Romantic retreat on Lyon's rooftops

Sur les toits de Lyon est l'endroit parfait pour passer quelques jours comme touriste à Lyon, vu la location super centrale et le couple très sympa qui vous accueillera et vous donnera plein d'informations sur Lyon (des secrets inclus!). mais aussi si vous aimeriez vous y installer pour plusieur semaines ou mois, car l'appartement ne manque vraiment rien! C'est super confortable, il y a même une cuisine, une douche/WC et une machine à laver, une télé.. La vue des toits et de la colline, enfin de la ville d'en haut, est spectaculaire.. On peut rester à la fenêtre pendant des heures.. On va très certainement y rentrer un jour.. :-)

Des marches qui se suivent et se suivent... nous donnent cette impression de rajeunir (ou presque) comme l'expérience d'une chambre de bonne sous les toits, mais oh surprise nous sommes bien au dessus de ceux ci, dans une des rareté de la ville. Ce n'est pas la seule ( de rareté), le lieu est accueillant, chaleureux, et on aimerait qu'il soit nôtre; il est le temps d'un séjour, et ceci grâce à cette justesse de réserve des propriétaires qui quand nous les rencontrons au début et à la fin, nous avons la sensation de discuter sur le palier avec nos voisins préférés de l'immeuble. La finesse qui se dégage d'eux on la retrouve dans le lieu, les prestations proposées, les conseils mais aussi leur écoute. Que dire de plus ( beaucoup, mais à chacun de découvrir suivant ses propres attentes) si ce n'est que l'appartement est idéalement placé, et il est encore une fois à l'image de nos hôtes et magiquement à notre image aussi. Exceeded my expectations

I spent a month in 'Les Toits de Lyon' and it truly felt like a home away from home. The pictures are an accurate representation of the apartment (very modern, but in building from the 17th century) and the views are even more magnificent than what is described! Julie and Michael were so lovely and very well organized. The apartment was clean and they went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. They replied promptly to any question I had before I arrive and during my stay. Michael was so kind to carry my suitcase up and down the stairs. And the climb to the apartment is well worth it for the view - and as a bonus, I'm fitter for it! The apartment is situated in a great part of the city, close to the Soane river with markets, boulangeries, pharmacies, etc all very close. Although I only used it a couple of times, the metro stop is also close to the apartment. I would recommend this place for any length of stay in Lyon - a weekend, a week, a longer holiday as I had. I hope to return again.

Génial ! Super séjour

L'annonce est plus que conforme avec la réalité. Que des points positifs : superbe appartement avec du mobilier de qualité, situation idéale en plein coeur de la presqu'île, propriétaires accueillants. Rien à redire. Et petit plus : nécessaire pour cuisiner (heure, vinaigre ...), un petit "kit" pour une pause (quelques capsules nespresso, sachets thé, sucre), "kit nettoyage" (pastille lave-vaisselle, liquide vaisselle, éponge ...). Tout simplement génial. Encore merci à Julie et à Claude pour ce séjour.

When I decided to come back to Lyon, I was sure that I would like to stay in the same place. The apartment is in the downtown (1st 'arrondissement'), with easy access to the metro, bus and to the Vélo'v station; in the last floor of a classic building from the 17th century and has all the appliances that we need - including wi-fi connexion. It is very charming, comfortable, beautifully decorated, and always clean and quiet. You can easily find supermarkets, restaurants, bars, museums and nice shops in the same region. I should highlight the beautiful view of the city (360º to the Fourvière, Vieux Lyon and the Croix Rousse) and the warm welcome from the owners, Julia and Mickaël. They are really nice and always available.

"Le gîte de charme "Sous les toits de Lyon" porte bien son nom. Quel plaisir de découvrir la basilique de Fourvière, de jour et encore mieux de nuit, les toits des cahuts de la Croix-Rousse et ceux du vieux-Lyon... Le gîte est de tout confort et permet de passer un agréable séjour dans cette ville qui mérite d''être visitée. Une importante documentation est disponible. Question localisation, on ne peut pas trouver mieux avec des grandes surfaces, des commerces divers et les fameux bouchons. De plus, Mickael et Julie sont aux petits oignons pour les hôtes, donnant de précieux conseils pour découvrir Lyon. Bref, rien à redire et surtout vivement notre prochain séjour chez eux. Wow! where to start! Beau...

Wow! where to start! Beautifully presented studio apt. Top shelf kitchen amenities, TV, furniture. Lovely finishes. Beautiful windows. Amazing view of the rooftops of Lyon ;-) Divine, mesmerising view of Fourvière Basilica. Swallows swooped & sang & the little cat, on the second floor, who was perched in his specially built 'window box' watching the world go by, was so sweet. Mickaël & Julie are beautiful people. Helpful, kind, caring. They left little treats for my arrival... almond cakes (which were replaced for my second week);! A magnificent box of chocolates. Mmm. Lyon Pastilles in a lovely Lyon tin. They thought of Everything! Maps, umbrellas, books, magazines. Lovely French linen tea towels. Generous Paper towels & Toilet paper supplied. Gorgeous bathroom soap etc waiting to be used. Dishwasher tablets, dishwashing liquid. I adored the laundry liquid. My clothes smelled lovely. I stayed 2 wonderful wks - the immaculate apt was cleaned & linen replaced after a week. Thank you. Thank you Mickaël, for carrying my suitcase up & down the stairs. Such a big ask. Bed was very comfy. Ceiling beams a joy to behold. Sympathetic wall colour & furnishings. The great little washing machine was easy & fast to use. Special oven/microwave was amazing. Kettle I loved you ;) Lovely shower. Separate toilet was nice. Furnishings & fittings were absolutely top notch quality & it was a pleasure to come back 'home' every night. Close to wonderful sights. Great local Market on the river quai. Close to supermarket, many good Cafes & easy walking to major streets. A great Sushi place close by. There are 150 steps from the street level to the studio door. Once I got used to this it was fine. Steps get smaller towards the top. Care needs to be taken for my age group. I'm 64 yrs young! I adored my time here & will go back to Lyon again. Thank you to my lovely Lyon Famille xxx

"It was a very pleasant experience. The apartment is clean, beautifully decorated, well equipped and comfortable. Very conveniently located with easy access to the metro (station Hôtel de Ville/Louis Pradel), bus and to the Vélo'v station (the citybike system provides 340 different stations all over Lyon).
