Wonderful retreat tucked in the wilderness of the Lower Rattlesnake River and Greenough Park
We are an older couple and traveled to Missoula for our grandson's graduation from University of Montana. We so loved this hideaway studio next to the Lower Rattlesnake River and short drive or bike ride and moderate walk to town. The studio is roomy, well apppointed, complete kitchen, quite funtional bath, roomy closet, fireplace insert, tv with variety of channels, good linens and towels. Jeff is available and not instrusive. Washer/dryer is available right there. It's a perfect accomodation for someone who wants to be off the beated path, near everything in a comfortable place. Cannot recommend enough. We stayed 6 days, 5 nights. Would love to go back.
Wonderful space to spend a relaxing month!! This property feels like you are in the middle of the woods but is really 5 minutes from downtown! Host is very accommodating and we look forward to being able to stay here again in the future!
We loved our stay here. Jeff's place is awesome and so is Jeff. The unit is very spacious. Feels like a one bedroom as the kitchen is in it's own room. Great place for a couple. Jeff went above and beyond to make our stay in Missoula amazing. So glad that we got to meet him. He provided great tips for us for what to do in Missoula. One of the best meals we had in downtown Missoula was at a restaurant recommended by Jeff: Second Set Bistro.
Loved that there were bikes/locks/helmets for us and there for us and the place is a quick bike ride to town or to the University.
The apartment was immaculate and the location ideal. Very quiet and convenient. Jeff was the perfect host. He didn't intrude on our stay but was very attentive to any request. I would highly recommend this VRBO.
I booked this location because of its proximity to the University of Montana where I was attending a workshop. I decided against renting a car and figured I would walk everywhere; however, a 33 minute walk was a little longer than I anticipated. Jeff came to the rescue by letting me use one of his bikes to get around town. It worked out great for me and I would encourage any individual or couple who wants to be close to town, yet tucked away to consider staying here. I had a great visit to Missoula.
The apartment is comfortable, clean, simple (meaning: not over the top) and well furnished with everything I needed for my work-related stay. Kitchen was stocked with all the gear and ready to go. Jeff, owner, was available for questions and hike / walking suggestions but I always felt my privacy was respected. Oh! Easy to get to, just off downtown and I-90 at the north end of a city park and wildlands area. Walked 5 houses away to trail into woods, creek and calm beauty. And it was quiet during daytime and at night (other than the coyotes I heard one night). I'd go back.
Quiet, private basement apartment at end of a private road next to a very nice park. Jeff provided all the information needed for an easy arrival and comfortable stay.

wonderful location
Visited the beginning of Sept. the owner of the property was very helpful/ knowledgeable in providing me information about trips I wanted to take. The living area was very clean and had ample room for one person. Kitchen was well stocked with cooking items if you wanted to cook your own food. I enjoyed being very close to the creek and trails to walk on. Overall a really great location.

Quiet and Convenient
This is a great walk-in basement unit. Right near a wonderful wooded park and river. Wonderfully quiet!! But also only 1-1.5 mile from downtown. Jeff was a great host - friendly and helpful. The unit is more spacious than I expected - nice sitting area with fireplace, walk in closet, roomy bathroom and separate kitchen. Bed is very comfortable. Even though it's a basement unit, there is a large window in the main room (no window well since it's a walk in) that lets in a lot of light. Even though I was there for several weeks during the summer, I never felt I needed A/C since the nights get so cool.
Thank you Jeff for sharing your home with me. I loved Missoula and hope to come back soon.

Beautiful location
We had a great stay at Jeff Kooris' studio in Missoula, MT. The place was clean and well appointed with a well-equipped kitchen and a gas fireplace, and located steps away from a lovely park. Despite the woodland setting, the studio was close to downtown Missoula and the University of Montana. Jeff is a friendly and helpful host, giving us lots of tips for seeing the area. We would certainly recommend this studio apartment.

Very cozy and in a great location! I walked out to the park and river just steps away from my door. Just a minute to downtown but secluded. I loved the gas fireplace! I hated to leave. I would definitely stay here again! Jeff was very accommodating . The place was clean and homey

Cozy Getaway
Jeff's property is tucked away at the end of a wooded road, the perfect spot to escape. It was clean, quiet and cozy. The fireplace was perfect for the chilly, wet weather. A great little place to stay when in Missoula.

Tranquility
This was our third stay at Jeff's property. We return to it because of the excellent location, the warmth, cleanliness, and comfort of the apartment, and the peace that comes with knowing a property's attributes: the highlights being that it sits on a park in a quiet location, has a full kitchen, and a lovely fireplace for heat and ambience.

Great studio apartment. Clean, cozy and close to where we wanted to be. We could walk downtown.
The fireplace kept us warm and was an added plus. The area is very quiet. We will stay here again when we visit family in Missoula.

About the host
Hosted by jeff kooris
I've lived in Missoula for over 40 years enjoying the many recreational opportunities. I love whitewater canoeing and rafting. Lightweight Backpacking with a pack raft into the wilderness is my newest interest . I ski quite a bit in the winter, both downhill and xc. I still strap on a snowboard now and then. My main job, other than managing/maintaining a 100+ yr old apartment building, is keeping my Australian Shepherd entertained and worn out.
Why they chose this property
Great for two people. Includes one queen bed, fully stocked kitchen, wireless internet, and cable t.v. Easy access to wilderness areas and Historic downtown Missoula. Our location is what makes us unique. The property is tucked away and borders the north end of Greenough Park, a local favorite. Greenough Park , a preserved natural area, provides opportunities for wildlife viewing, jogging or just an easy after dinner stroll. Some of the best bird watching can be found along Rattlesnake Creek which runs through the park. Also close by are hiking opportunities in Missoula's North Hills and Mount Jumbo, both offering views of the Missoula Valley and an abundance of wildflowers in the spring and early summer. The Rattlesnake Recreation area, just up the road, offers great mountain biking, hiking, backpacking, and cross country skiing.
What makes this property unique
It feels more like a quiet retreat in the woods than an apartment close to downtown. It's also close to many hiking and biking trails on either the numerous open space lands owned by the city or forest service land. It's also a short walk to the Clark Fork River. The Univ. of Montana campus starts just across the foot bridge. Avoid the parking hassle and walk to a Griz football game.
