First time to the area-family trip

The proximity to the beach is amazing! We wanted cute beach cottage for our family of 5, this is exactly it. Clean and simple living space with a quick walk to the beach made it a great place to unplug for classic family fun.

Perfect Stay

The home is in a great location and has the perfect beach vibe. Home was very clean and they have everything you will need to cook with in the kitchen. Host was great at communicating and I will for sure look to stay at this house again :)

My intention is simply to provide an honest account of our experience so future guests can make an informed decision. We enjoyed our time in Nags Head because it is a beautiful destination, but the rental itself did not enhance that experience. Issues were: clogged toilet (plungers were old and inadequate and toilet unusable for the week, no follow up after host was informed to offer a solution), 2nd shower and sink would drain very extremely slow, no linens (hidden in the listing), no basic toiletries like hand soap or dish soap, spare TP, hand or bath towels, walls peeling in bathroom with appearance of mold. Listing pictures embellished the actual quality of property. home hasn't had TLC or updates in 20 years, musty washer/dryer. Check out tells you to leave behind things you paid for for next guests. Would not recommend it to friends or family. Price does not match value.We hope these issues are addressed for future guests. With better maintenance and attention to the guest experience, this property has the potential to better reflect both its location and its price. Unfortunately, based on our stay, we cannot recommend it.I also recognize that this is someone's personal home rather than a professionally managed vacation rental. That comes with both pros and cons. Owners naturally have a personal attachment to the home and can skew the reality of the value. I believe there will be a rebuttal refuting this review but as the customer, this property fell short.

Thank you for your feedback. I’m sorry our home did not meet your expectations. For the benefit of future guests, I’d like to clarify a few points. Our listing clearly states that guests provide their own linens and towels. The home offers high-speed Wi-Fi and Smart TVs for streaming with guests’ own accounts; cable TV is not provided. We also provide a starter supply of toilet paper, while additional paper products and other consumable items are the responsibility of our guests. Regarding the toilet, it was functioning properly upon your arrival. After your departure, our cleaning staff documented that it had been clogged during your stay. Had we been informed that the issue was a clog, we would have been happy to help resolve it. We appreciate all guest feedback and continually maintain and improve our home.

Great place!

The house was very clean and nicely kept. Plenty of room for 6 people. Nice short walk to the beach. Close by to everything we wanted to do...Jockey's Ridge State Park and the Wright Brother's monument and of course the beach! The beach cart was a huge help!

Our family loved our stay here. The home was very clean and well stocked. We had one small issue which the owner responded to immediately. The location was great! It is a quick walk to the beach and there are a ton of shops close by.

Awesome week. Older home but well maintained. Very short walk to beach access. Use of there beach cart was a great benefit. Easy to communicate with the owners. Would definitely stay again.

Great house for split family!

The location is great with easy access to groceries, beach, shopping, restaurants. The best aspect was that with two different families the house worked perfect and it didn't feel like we were living on top of each other. Our second time in the OBX and it just keeps getting better!

Great location!

We really enjoyed our stay at Sea Sun Greetings. The house is adorable and in a fantastic location. Our *only* complaint is that you have to provide everything for yourself supply-wise, down to the trash bags. We were left with one trash bag, no laundry detergent and no dishwasher soap by the previous tenant. Come prepared and you’ll have a fantastic time!

AMAZING Place!

This house was fantastic for our family of 6. The bedrooms were perfectly sized and beds super comfy. The house was clean, appliances worked perfectly and the AC was COLD! Couldn’t have picked a better location….one block to the beach. The beach cart was fantastic and several chairs for us to use. House was located in the heart of everything! Owners were awesome when we had questions. HIGHLY recommend this house and would definitely stay here again!!! Thank you for everything!

It was a nice place

We enjoyed the house very much. The only issue we had was there were ants in the kitchen. We bought a few ant traps and that took care of them. The deck was nice to sit on at night. It was a little issue to have to go under the house to do laundry, but it wasn't a huge deal. Beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was a nice size.

Thanks so much for your review of our lovely home. Beautiful beaches sometimes bring "friends" who aren't welcome. We have a service that sprays regularly for us & comes out the same day we call if there is an issue. Sorry we didn't know you saw any ants as this was the first we've heard of any being seen this summer. We would've had them come out to treat during your stay if we knew.

Beautiful beach cottage

We enjoyed our time at this beautiful beach cottage with our two kids. There are 4 bedrooms so there is plenty of space. The beach is just a short walk away and there is a cart underneath the house you can load up with chairs and toys. You are very close to restaurants and Jockey's Ridge. We also enjoyed sitting out on the porch in the evenings. We appreciated that we did not have to carry keys around with us. The code entry was so convenient! This place is great for families!

Upon their arrival, you were contacted & advised of the concern as non-family groups under the age of 25 are not allowed. The dishonesty on your part does not warrant a poor rating on our part.

Cozy Home

Our stay at The Sea Sun was amazing. Very comfy cozy. We took multiple trips per day to the beach because the walk there is quite literally 2 min.!! Not to mention the distance to Harris Teeter w/Starbucks, ha! That is a short drive of maybe 0.3 miles; you could walk there too, although crossing the highway isn't exactly a chance I'd recommend. Multiple restaurants as within walking distance as well! Though we did drive to all of ours, knowing our bellies would be full of the local, fresh seafood and we wouldn't be much for walking after! We would definitely stay again and recommend anyone else choosing The Sea Sun.
