WHAT YOU GET
-A connected, proven property owner, personally involved in the all cleanings and the maintenance of the property, who has a high attention to detail and strives to have you remember him for the right reasons. A consistent 5-STAR review recipient! A rustic, clean, well-maintained property that has three bedrooms, two added rooms with sleeping apparatus and sleeps 9. The exterior of the home is wrapped in natural rough-cut hemlock wood with natural field stone foundation. The interior walls all feature random width knotty pine wood. My parents and our family grew to become great friends of the Eckardts, the original builders of this cabin and managers of the Indian Rocks Community. In 1965, my parents purchased the home from them. The second floor, added in the early 1990's, was Mark's mother's dream. The home grew by the tastefully-built addition of a second floor with two bedrooms, a full bath, and a laundry area.

The cabin at Tanner's Point offers a destination that will help create lasting memories for your group. Between the spring and early fall seasons, enjoy the cabin side patio with your group, where you'll cook on the Weber propane grill, enjoy the lake views while dining at the 8’ picnic table, and relax on chaise lounges during the day, and during the evening, roast marshmallows and make s'mores at the fire pit. Enjoy the views, your favorite beverage, and conversation on the covered front porch, furnished with comfortable outdoor furniture. Bring your boat, up to 24’L, and moor it in your own slip located directly across the street, in protected, no wake water. Navigate the Big Lake, 13 miles long, where you'll swim, tube, ski, and fish, or throw out the anchor and enjoy captivating scenery. Enjoy the convenience of the no-wake zone opposite the cottage, about 1.5 miles in length, great for kayaking and canoeing enthusiasts. Please note that two 11.5' Pelican fishing kayaks are on site. These kayaks are not offered as part of the rental, but you may use them for free! (At your own risk) Walk or take a short drive to the private Tanners Point and Bear Track beaches on Lake Wallenpaupack, or to the outdoor recreational area at Indian Rocks, where you’ll enjoy the clean, heated, outdoor swimming pool(swim at own risk) and kiddie pool, open between Memorial Day and Labor Day, or play tennis, shoot some hoops, play volleyball and horseshoes, or take a well-deserved break and watch the children as they enjoy the playground. Poconos vacation
Mark, the property owner is very nice, and easy to communicate with. We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The property is not really big, but the house is very clean and comfortable. We had 5 adults and 2 children in our group, and we were comfortable in the cabin. We would consider staying there again if we go back to the Poconos for vacation.

Why they chose this property

My parents bought this cottage in the mid 1960's, when I was 5 years old. I have many fond memories of my childhood, our cottage, and the Lake. My parents worked very hard to provide our family a vacation home to enjoy and be proud of. I always knew that it was important to keep the Lake in my life as I grew older. I fulfilled my dream of staying firmly connected to the Lake, and bought the cottage from my siblings in 2010. I am grateful for the compromise by my wife and daughter, as owning a second home comes with sacrifices. We have made many upgrades to the cottage, and I enjoy providing a great environment for guests to create their own memories!

The location of the cabin is great. There is convenience to the lake and the availability to rent a community boat slip for only $25/night, located only 200' from the front door of the cabin! The location of the cabin is also in walking distance of the complimentary use of the community Clubhouse and gym, fishing, lake swimming, and a short drive to the community heated swimming pool, kiddie pool, tennis courts, and playground. There are also pleasant views of the lake, especially after the leaves fall. Our cottage offers a blend of rustic charm with the modern conveniences of Wifi, HD cable TV, two new Sony 43" 4k UHD TVS, Blu-ray player, AC, and free long distance. The property is enjoyed and maintained by the owner. The property owner is hands-on, and is involved in all cleanings. The owner is assisted by a cleaning woman, not a service, who is paid a living wage. The cabin is cleaned to a level you would expect. The owner's reliability and life-long connection to this property translate into a commitment to the property that will assure satisfaction with your rental experience! Owner actually pays a higher electric rate and subscribes to a 100% renewable electric service provider. Electric supply to this property compliments of 100% wind energy!
