About this property
River-front Cabin is affordable retreat after hiking or skiing! Pet friendly!
Welcome to beautiful Flathead Valley, Big Mountain, and Glacier Park! We know you will have a wonderful experience and create lasting memories when you visit this lovely cabin located on the Flathead River where you can watch the deer, eagles, bears, coyotes….. and maybe the wolf or elk along the River! We’re a short drive to Glacier National Park, Whitefish, Columbia Falls, and downtown Kalispell. Rainbow’s End Vacation Cabin is the ideal location for a restful retreat or home base for adventures and exploring. You are welcome to fish from the shores of the river in front of the cabin and explore the 20 acres on which it is built!
Bring nothing but your clothes and choice of foods to eat, as everything else if provided! Rainbow’s End is designed for a family up to six, with one king bed in the master loft, and on the main floor, a queen in one bedroom, and a full with trundle in the other. Though only 8 miles from the very heart of Kalispell, this cabin feels like you are near the wilderness with ‘end of the road’ privacy.
The Cabin: The views from the cabin are simply stunning; guests love the sight of serene Flathead River, the majestic Swan Mountain Range, and the ever present wildlife. You are guaranteed to see deer, eagles, turkeys, and the occasional bear. The entire east side of the cabin is windows - a sliding glass door leads to a beautiful deck for hosting outdoor dinners in the summer and year-round stargazing . An open kitchen, dining and living area is perfect for entertaining and gatherings with loved ones. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you will need to craft the perfect meal – cookware, small appliances, plating for 8, and much more. The comfortable living area is the ideal for getting cozy with a book, playing board games, or merely soaking in the view. A large master bedroom encompasses the loft with a king bed, a sitting area nook, and water closet. Two cozy bedrooms located on the main floor provide a queen bed, and full captain's bed with trundle. The main bathroom contains a walk-in shower and is stocked with plush towels and a hair dryer. A utility room, also on the main floor, contains a washer, dryer, ironing board, and iron. This lovely cabin was constructed in early 2014 therefore the amenities are fresh, new, and ready for you to use.
The Property: A one mile drive on a gravel road through the country will lead you to the cabin. The river boarders the east of the property, and we’ve kept the river side of our property open with a few tall trees for shade. Our property is kept natural and is not overly manicured – we love our connection with nature! The remainder of the property has a couple outbuildings for storage, and is covered with tall spruce and cottonwood trees. Guests are welcome to fish along certain sections of the riverbank or use property as a put-in or take out location for river float and fishing trips. Our location is an unspoiled place to retreat and relax to after a fun day of exploring all the region has to offer.
Recreation: Nearby recreational opportunities are endless! Guests have close and easy access to hiking, skiing (all forms), fly fishing, sport fishing, mountain biking, cycling, rock climbing, sight-seeing, bird watching, boating, whitewater rafting, and the list goes on and on. The cabin is fully stocked with games, movies, and books. A fire pit for story-telling, marshmallow roasting and stargazing is available nearly year round. The river is wild, cold, and unpredictable therefore swimming is never encouraged or recommended.

About the host
Hosted by Glenda D. Brown

Robert and I have lived here on the Flathead River for 33 years in the A-frame built in the '70's. I grew up in the Valley, attending Evergreen Elementary till 8th grade, and Robert is a transplant from southern Idaho. We both attended FVCC, and he graduated valedictorian in the first class of land surveyors, and is still surveying here in the Valley after a 12 year hiatus in Alaska. My family has been here in the Valley since the 1920's, with each generation moving away (or being moved away!) and coming back, irresistibly drawn by the unforgettable loveliness of this Valley. I am excited to meet the people who want to experience our Valley and enjoy it's riches! You are welcome here.
Why they chose this property
We just finished building this Amish cabin 200 feet from our 'A Frame' home, to share the lovely serenity of this place with travelers. When we bought this property, the realtor kept saying, 'They don't make places like this any more...!' and he was right. This is a unique property for your complete rest and relaxation, combined with as much adventure as you want to pack into your time here! The owners nearby give you the opportunity for fast answers to questions about things to do, places to go, ... or complete privacy, as you choose!
What makes this property unique
'Wilderness' eight miles from two city centers is a huge benefit I enjoy about this property. I used to drive 45 miles into the 'Swan' to visit friends, and I have the same feel here, so close to town. Privacy combined with close proximity to all the attractions make this a special place. (Owner's property is 200 ft. away, screened by trees.)
