A stunning property. A magical location on the banks of the Douro river. The property is exceptionally modern, with a brilliantly equipped kitchen - perfect for cooking meals to be enjoyed on the outside terrace. The pool area is the perfect spot for enjoying the sun and taking in the surroundings. I would recommend a stay here.

It’s a perfect Douro Holiday

Family of 5 , house is better than expected , pool in particular is spectacular. Great house , we were are welcomed by the family and given all the details we needed Very well equipped house , and we loved sitting in the deck with a meal or drink . It is close to the railway , but the trains that do pass really never bother you . It passes quickly and stops early in the evening. The rural location, the pool, the deck , the view are all grand . Wish I had booked several more days there.

Amazing stay at the Lakeside House

Our stay has been absolutely fantastic from beginning to end. The architecture of the house was exceptional and worked really well for a family. The area is beautiful and peaceful, and we spent hours sitting and enjoying the view from the terrace over the Douro River. The train runs close by, but it passes quickly, and we just found it charming. We must also mention that we have never been received with such hospitality as in this house. We were welcomed with a lavish fruit platter, a fully stocked fridge, and all sorts of delicious treats. We cannot thank you enough for a fantastic stay, and I give this place my warmest recommendations.

Séjour dans l'ensemble plus que réussi hôte facilement joignable et arrangeant. Petite touche d'attention en arrivant avec panière de fruit vin du pays et un frigo avec quelques aliment pour le premier soir. Nous avions un bébé et lhote a même pris le temps de nous acheter une bouteille d'eau pour nourrisson et a fait et mis à disposition un lit parapluie 👌 Le seul point un peu négatif et axe d'amélioration c'est les terrasses en bois extérieur qui à mon sens ne sont pas assez entretenues et commence à se casser par endroit (cela devient un peu dangereux).

Ein tolles Haus in traumhafter Lage. Wir wären gerne länger geblieben. Wir haben die Terrasse direkt am See sowie den Pool sehr genossen. Wir sind mit dem Kanu (gehört zu Haus) auf dem Douro gerudert, sind mit den SUP (unser Eigenes) gefahren. Das Haus war sehr sauber und komplett ausgestattet. Sogar der Kühlschrank war gefüllt. Die Kommunikation hätte gerne etwas proaktiver sein können. Alles in Allem: traumhaft

Beautiful riverside location

We had a fantastic, relaxing week staying at this property. We were greeted with a very warm welcome on arrival and a fully stocked fridge which was much appreciated. The house has been newly decorated and is very modern and stylish. The outside areas have been beautifully planted and we enjoyed the amazing views from the house, swimming and kayaking. The host couldn’t have been more helpful, highly recommend.

Peaceful bliss by the water

Exactly what we were hoping for: quiet, peaceful and secluded. The house is absolutely amazing and the view cannot be explained in words. We slept with the curtains open many nights so we could still enjoy the lights from the hills across the lake. The beds are incredibly comfortable, more than enough warm blankets, the kitchen had everything you need for a self catered stay and the fridge is large enough for a long stay with a deep freeze. The garden is beautiful and the house is like the photos. The owners are wonderful people, extremely responsive and attentive, they really made the stay special with treats for Christmas and beautiful decor in the house. A very very special thank you to Helena. The outside furniture needs a little maintenance but this did not take away from our experience. The parking is a long walk from the house and you have to cross the rail road. There is a crossing point for you to use. Just take this into account when traveling with small children as the train comes past at high speed. This did not take away from our experience though, the beauty of this house is it's seclusion and unique location. A perfect stay, we will be back

In die Jahre gekommen - mässiges Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis

Zuerst das Positve: - sehr netter Empfang - spektakuläre Lage + Immobilie - toller Garten nicht so dolle: - das Haus ist in die Jahre gekommen, und wirkt estwas herunter gekommen, es waren viele Beschädigungen/Abnutzungen, bei dieser Preisklasse fühlt sich das ungut an.(Verkleidung v Kühlschrank fehlte, unschöne Spachtelstellen an Wänden in allen Räumen, abfallende Bretter am Pool, Kayak gerissen, altes Schlauchboot (defekt) liegt daneben, vermutlich seit Jahren, Scheibe im Schlafzimmer gerissen, Möbel zum Teil beschädigt, usw. - Bahn fährt zwischen 6 - 23:50h, tagsüber kein Problem, aber morgens wenn man von dem herannahenden Zug geweckt wird, krass das passt nicht zum Mietpreis - Am Wochende ist es sehr laut bis spät in die Nacht, Lärm kommt von Jetskier und Discoparty aus gegenüberliegendem Dorf, - die Bilder sind vermutlich über 10 Jahre alt. - Vermieter ist nicht kompromissbereit.

Die Villa liegt in wunderbarer Alleinlage direkt- wie auf den Bildern ersichtlich- am Douro.Nette Vermieter und gut gefüllter Kühlschrank bei Ankunft. Nächster kleiner Supermarkt in Eiris,15 Minuten entfernt. Das Ambiente ist drinnen wie draußen wunderbar- eine grüne Oase,toller Garten und Pool. Difícil colocar em palavras a beleza do local. Pelo menos uma vez na vida deveria passar aqui uns dias. A casa é espetacular e fica literalmente dento do rio. Super bem equipada, a cozinha em particular. O conforto térmico também é muito bom. O deck permite tomar refeições com uma vista fantástica sobre o rio e a piscina dá a sensação que estamos a tomar banho no rio Douro. O comboio passa junto à casa, e não sendo incomodativo, para quem sono leve aconselho a ter isso em atenção. No entanto entre as 11h30 e as 06h não passa nada. Deixo apenas 1 crítica positiva para melhor os black out nos quartos. Os mimos dos anfitriões também é de registar desde a fruta, aos doces. Em suma adoramos.

Nice home with beautiful view, but a lot of bugs

Host was quick to respond to questions, and even provided specific GPS coordinates to help us get to where we needed to be. We were greeted by the host's parents who welcomed us into their home and gave us a wonderful tour of the place (including their wonderful garden with various ready-to-eat fruits you can pick). They even presented us with a welcome pastry, and offered us some complementary wine. Overall, the hospitality was excellent. However, if you're accustomed to living in the city and you're not good at coping with pests and potentially wildlife, this property may not be right for you. There were numerous ants crawling around both floors of the building, in every room, and a couple will get on you while you're sleeping. Since we are not used to this sort of thing, it made it very hard for us to get comfortable, let alone sleep. We also found a gecko in the home which startled us, but we just simply ignored it and never encountered it again. Similarly outside, the pool had a lot of bugs in it (to be expected), so we were not comfortable in using it. Don't take this the wrong way, this is a beautiful, spacious property. The garden was by far our most favourite part of the home. But be aware, homes along the Douro Valley like this one may not be suitable for people who are afraid of bugs/pests/wildlife.

Great house and location

The house is right on the river, and to get to it you have to cross the railway line and follow it down for a bit. There's a kayak to use on the river and a nice deck with a barbecue and we arrived to find a well stocked kitchen with plenty of fresh fruit.

The Casa D'Água is a great hideaway nestled in a natural setting, right on the river... Close to Porto, the Douro region is a natural sanctuary and offers one of the most beautiful landscapes in Portugal.
It is located in Vendas das Caldas, Ancede in the Baião region, close to the Aregos train station; the train line shares a slope with the house making it all the more bucolic...
If you want to catch the train to Porto, you need only go down to Aregos station. The owner of Casa D'Água will pick you up by boat and you will arrive along the Douro River, you cannot get more of a countryside feel than that.
Casa D'Água is perfect for a holiday retreat or a weekend getaway, sleeps six (two more can be added), and is designed to compliment holidays with family or friends.
It has everything you could possibly wish for in a house, just arrive with your personal belongings and prepare to enjoy...
There is a wide variety of activities if you want to make the most of your day, for example, canoe or boat trips, fishing, and trips to the Caldas de Arego hot springs (facing the house, on the other side of the river).
You can also take a lovely train ride to Régua and visit the Douro Museum, reach the Douro wine region on a sailboat (Douro by sail) and in the same Baião region see the Eça de Queirós Foundation.
Casa D'Água Douro is ideal for those who want to holiday with family and/or friends or who desire quiet moments. It is set in a great location, far from the urban hubbub, in the wonderful Douro region, quite literally in a natural setting!
