Really Nice house on Moose Lake! The location is just perfect with a great view of the lake. The large yard was perfect for games and for our dog to explore. The large deck is big enough for cornhole or just sitting back and taking in the beautiful surroundings.
We had a wonderful time! The cabin and property were great and just as listed. The yard and pier were especially fun for our West highland Terrier. We enjoyed kayaking, fishing and hiking.
Thanks for a wonderful stay!
Our stay at Lazy Moose cabin was all we hoped it would be. We had stayed at other cabins on Moose Lake before but none as nice as this. The cabin was spacious and very neat. The view is incredible. We had our twelve year old golden retriever Molly with us. She was like a puppy again. We did some fishing but weather kept us off the water for a couple days. We enjoyed the quiet as well as the beautiful night sky. Overall a wonderful experience. We will be back next year. Mike, Bambi, and Molly
Quiet, very comfortable, full amenities. Close to dining/bar, 3 established locations for our needs. W/D was a plus. There was just the two of us but will sleep 8 very comfortably. Nice boat dock. Fire pit. A+

Thank you so much! That is exactly how we feel and what we hope all of our guest experience with every visit. The Lazy Moose Cabin is a perfect choice for families looking to enjoy a quiet and peaceful lake with each other!
This is a nice cabin. Its quiet, and comfortable. The property is nice with a nice deck and a nice dock. we did have to run the dehumidifier to help with the musty basement, but certainly not a deal breaker, perhaps if the tv was moved upstairs then there wouldn't be any need to go to the basement. We liked the cabin very much!
This comfortable house is only a few steps to one of the best lakes in northern Wisconsin. Spent the week fishing and swimming right off the dock and enjoying evening fires at the firepit only a few feet from the lake as well. The house fit 4 adults, 1 child , and 2 dogs very comfortably and was very clean. I cant imagine any complaints with this rental and will recommend it highly to anyone looking for a great northern getaway and the hosts were immediately available with answers to my questions. Many great memories with my daughters, granddaughter, and son inlaw were made this week at this cabin, big thanks to the hosts for putting together the perfect rental on the water!

True to pics and description. Nice and private with great water access.
Cabin was great size for family of 4, kitchen was very well equipped. Close to the water and quiet and secluded. The windows all need to be replaced, we could not have them open at night as the screens are falling apart and wood rotting so bugs got in. Bedding needs to be updated, master was the only bed that the sheets actually fit and stayed on the bed. It would have been great to have some firewood as we couldn’t find any in the area for a campfire. We were also hoping for a few more chairs maybe a few loungers would be great for relaxing by the water! Overall it was a great stay, we went to enjoy the outdoors and it was perfect for that.

Thank you for your input! We just arrived home from our cabin this past Saturday and while we agree with you completely about the integrity of the front picture window--the storm sliders are broken--the remaining windows inside the cabin are in great shape. While staying at our place, we did collect estimates for the replacement of that window and a new/larger one will be installed this fall. As for the bedding, I purchased 2 new "lighter" comforters for the queen beds and there are 2 extra comforters (warmer) still located in the master bedroom--sheets must have been a mix up with our cleaning service.
While we do not provide firewood and it is not included in our Confirmation Letter there is an abundance of it sold at local gas stations, grocery stores, and road side establishments. Thanks again for your constructive comments and we're very happy that you still enjoyed the area and the serene nature of Moose Lake.
Pictures were accurate , house was clean and comfortable. We had 2 small dogs nd my sister-in law found 25 nails in the yard alongside the deck. Could have been a disaster if we or the dogs stepped on 1 of these nails.
The dock and the access to the dock were both safety hazards. To get on the dock you had to step on 2 rocks and step up to get on the dock. The deck is a "T" dock the right side of the tee is sunken to the point where it is almost submerged. Again a safety hazard. No TV in the living room upstairs , we found it in the closet of the master, does it work ? we don't know .
Great cabin/house on a nice lot. The lake is just gorgeous. Peaceful and serene. We had a couple campfires which were very nice. Inside the beds were good, kitchen was very useable and it had everything we needed.
Lazy Moose offered everything out young family needed for a relaxing and sun fun filled week vacation in the Northwoods. The location is far enough away from Hayward to feel remote, but close enough for shopping and events if needed. However, we enjoyed swimming off the dock, renting a pontoon boat, and biking in the forest. We’ll be back!
My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Lazy Moose. Found the place to be very clean and comfortable during our stay.. Look forward to booking again in the future.
The Lazy Moose was wonderful. The kitchen was well stocked with plenty of dishes and utensils. The living room is large with a beautiful view of the lake. One bedroom has twin bunks and a full size bed. The main bedroom has a queen and there is plenty of room if you need to setup a pack n play. There is seating for five at the kitchen table and two folding chairs. There’s also a table and four chairs on the very large deck with a gas grill. The house was clean and beautifully appointed. We had a question when we arrived and Joann responded quickly and was very kind. The lake is large and fairly quiet. It’s not as developed as many other lakes are, which we liked. It’s an excellent lake for kayaking or skiing/tubing. The water is “tea stained” from the Tamarek and Cedar trees but very clean. Lazy Moose is about a half hour from Hayward which has a lot to offer for shopping, eating and entertainment. There are many good restaurants to choose from even closer. Our family highly recommends this beautiful home. It’s a perfect vacation spot. We hope to come again.
We spent the week at this home with our immediate family and our children's friends. It was remote and was a nice getaway from the city but we were still close to town. There was lots to do with a restaurant just across the lake in sight where we decided to kayak making it a fun excursion. Enjoyed fishing and were able to catch some fish each day. We were more than comfortable staying in the home and would love to be back. The owners were so nice and helpful and gave any information needed to make the best of our trip.
This was our second visit this summer & it did not disappoint! The lake is beautiful & so quiet, the cabin is comfortable & the view fabulous! I hope we can come back some day!
Over all, we really enjoyed our stay. The only issue we had was that the lower level had extreme mustiness issues. We arrived and there was some mold on the recliner in the lower level. We contacted the host and they were awesome. They responded right away allowing us to set the recliner outside for the week and opened up windows to air it out. It did not stop us from having a great week. I would highly recommend this cabin for families. We really did enjoy the week!

About the host
Hosted by Kevin and Joanne Renfro
We bought are home in November 2000. With friends originally in the area, we had been visiting Hayward for over 10 years prior to our cabin's purchase. Over the years we have made many improvements to our home, most significantly our basement, kitchen, and our bathroom. We enjoy our cabin, Moose Lake, and Hayward very much and would love for others to have the same enjoyable experiences that we have year after year. We attempt to provide all amenities in our cabin that are needed for a relaxing visit. We have 3 children who won't even let us consider selling and relocating somewhere closer; it's a home filled with many memories and good times. Our future renters can be assured that our place is maintained in a way that is reflective of our own standards since we vacation there as well.
Why they chose this property
Why Moose Lake. It's magical! Truly. There is ample fishing. The lake is large enough for skiing, tubing, sailing, and shallow enough for some warm swims. Moose Lake is a seemingly "Quiet Lake" but without mandated motor restrictions. The roadways surrounding the lake have very light traffic, if any. Numerous ATV trails provide miles of motorized adventure and also carve out well groomed hiking routes. Eagles live here and are often seen flying around and also hanging on a tree branch by the dam. River otters will greet you as you kayak or canoe around the shorelines, loons can be heard in the evening. Renters have sighted both deer and even a bear swimming across the lake. Why this property? Because wilderness abounds and quiet nights, peaceful days are an actual reality.
What makes this property unique
It's true that Moose Lake is quiet and once the refrigerator is stocked, visitors have no reason to leave. However, the flip side to being 23 miles from Hayward's city limits is that commercial entertainment is only a short drive away as well as some very fine dining opportunities. A family can have it all while staying on Moose Lake and 1 week never seems long enough!
