We loved this place - it was even cozier and cuter than the pictures said. We stayed two nights and loved the short walk to the gondola as well as a block to liquor stores or the market. Very great stay!
The location (near the gondola) was terrific. The accommodations were adequate, but not spectacular. In my view, I think that the accommodations were a bit pricey, but that’s Telluride. The property manager was very nice.
The walls are paper thin and we were unable to sleep—we could hear the person in the room next door snoring! It was horrible. And people didn’t follow the rules and take their ski boots off outside so could hear people stomping up and down stairs of their room early in the AM—and our room was a top floor room.
Property manager was very friendly and we received a partial refund due to the disruption as we left a day earlier than planned because of the poor sleep due to noise. If the walls were soundproof it would be a perfect place to stay in Telluride as it’s a nice property in a great location.
This property was perfect for my husband, myself and young daughter. We loved being so close to the river, walking distance to all of the shops & restaurants and to a few hikes too. The community kitchen was perfect and very convenient as well.
The biggest advantage of this property was being such a short walk to the free gondola, the lifts, and downtown Telluride. Access to the slopes is literally the next best thing to a ski in/ski out unit.
The unit itself is tiny, like REALLY tiny, and the bed is in a loft above a small area on the lower floor that includes a bathroom (shower and toilet) and a living area (couch and sink). The bathroom was clean and functioned well and the pullout twin couch was plenty big enough for our 8 year old daughter, but I would highly doubt a grown adult would feel the same. The stairs between the upper and lower floors is very steep and narrow and the gripper strips on the top two steps were missing. As a result my husband ended up falling halfway down the stairs due to slipping on those top two steps. So be careful.
There's a mini fridge and a coffee maker, but no stove or microwave. The common room kitchen also lacks a microwave (I really HIGHLY suggest the unit owners all pitch in for a microwave, that was a big downer). Labeling the cabinets and drawers of the common room would also be very helpful.
We were also super disappointed to discover that the hot tub was out of order for repairs of some kind as we had been looking forward to a hot soak after skiing all day.
The unit was very warm, we never had a problem staying cozy, one night we even opened the upstairs window it got so toasty even with the thermostat on 68.
It has a really pretty view of the river and the whole building and area was very quiet and chill. Plenty of bars and pubs in the neighborhood and a specified area for public consumption but no one was a donkey and everyone behaved responsibly.
It was clean, conveniently located, just big enough, and reasonably priced. It isn't perfect, but it's a budget friendly place to lay your head that is super close to slope access. Check in and out process was super easy. The staff were extremely helpful, even let us use packing tape at the office when our gear rental company neglected to include it. They also helped us to coordinate returning our parking tag we forgot to leave behind to avoid a fine. Overall I give it 4.5 out of 5 stars.
This place was fantastic. Right on the river and a short 2 minute walk to town. The room itself is very small but reminiscent of a European chalet style rental and we loved it. If your in Telluride you shouldn’t be spending the that much time in the house anyway.
clean, efficient. Space looked bigger when booking online, some pictures may suggest the lounge was inside the suite, not common place. Overall, recommend it heartily
Manitou Lodge is a short walk to the gondola and bars/restaurants in Telluride. The management immediately dealt with a thermostat issue, and was very friendly. We were pleasantly surprised that the room came with breakfast. The hot tub was a great feature after a long day of skiing. For a ski lodge, Manitou was kept very clean. Although our room was tight for three people and some of the furniture needed a refresh, overall Manitou offers a great value and location that are tough to beat in Telluride. I would definitely return!
The rental service was very thorough in the information provided before I arrived. With construction and squirrelly street sign, it was initially hard to find, but it got better. Love the property! Right on the river, and I could sit downstairs, open the deck door, and just listen. I did not turn on the TV the entire time 😊. It's truly very close to the gondola, and 3-4 blocks at the most from just about anything. I would have liked a fan upstairs, but it was still comfortable. The only real issue I had was it was not clear from the website that my unit was on the second floor, and the second to last on the floor. I use a cane, and trying to get me and my luggage up/down stairs was a challenge. (There were, luckily, other guests who came along at a couple of opportune times to help with luggage.) I would stay there again, but call ahead for a first floor room 😁.
Cute little place convenient to Telluride. Wish there had been a television downstairs. We spent quite a bit of time in the lodge and didn’t like sitting in the bed for television.

Old world charm
Room was a great value during Xmas week. Tight quarters for sure, but otherwise excellent. Upstairs bed had a nice firm foam mattress (rm 10) . Pull out bed springy but my son didn't seem to mind. Frank the keeper was great, had warm cookies waiting after the slopes. Excellent location in village with wonderful French restaurant La mamotte one block away. For the price, you can't beat it. The skiing was Epic!!!!
