Check in was very good. Property is an old barn converted completely suited our needs. Shop and restaurant on the campsite that we could use were both excellent.
Château du martragny is set in a beautiful location in the French countryside. Thé gîte is very spacious and well equipped for our group of 9. The pretty good restaurant and well stocked shop make life easy. The pool is beautifully set and maintained, as is the tennis court. The area provides many locations for a day trip, with just a short drive. Bayeux is a stunning town, can be tricky to find parking, really useful to download the Flowbird App for the parking which covers most car parks in Normandy!
There is a good gym in the town too … the shop Fresh is a must is you want to make life easy in the kitchen! It’s only just over 1 hour from the ferry in Cherbourg which was great . Thank you
Beautiful house, close to lots of beautiful sites. Use of campsite pool, shop and restaurant brilliant. Few small comments. Could do with more kitchen equipment - would be hard to cook properly for a large group. Larger bbq needed. Had to cook in shifts. Upstairs bed and fridge could do with an upgrade (I’m pretty sure this will be done as was no problem when we mentioned it) Another comfy sofa in lounge would be good for cooler nights. All in all though I’d happily go back - just some ideas to make it perfect

Rustic yet modern
As a North American renting a Gite in France was exciting as I wasn't sure what it entailed. The Gite was very cute and spacious. It was remote and connected to a campground with a pool which the kids loved. Unfortunately, we were told there was wifi then told it was temperamental but we could never find the actual wifi we were suppose to connect to. We tried and tried to connect with the owners, they unfortunately never returned our email and we never saw them around the property. First world problems but when being away and trying to plan the rest of your trip via the internet it gets quite difficult. I would go B&B while travelling around Normandy as it is more social, a bit less (we were charged extra for towels and sheets so read all the instructions)money and the B&B includes breakfast. Great experience but we don't know the ways of the French vacationers.

We will try to communicate better, also on the rental of linens. Thank you for your understanding and hope that your stay in Normandy will remain a good memory.

The property had plenty of space and was really tastefully decorated. The house had everything we needed and the kids really enjoyed everything the campsite had to offer too. Was good to be able to use the restaurant and have self catering as well. Close to good beaches and historical sites and a good place to chill out, with a garden that gets the sun all day.

Lovely country home. Great for our party of 8
This gite was so lovely, located next to a beautiful chateau, in a charming village. The home is completely updated and modern, but with the key architectural details highlighted -- exposed beams and rock walls. The kitchen is completely outfitted and worked well to prepare meals for the eight of us. The washer and dryer were great to have. The whole house was clean. The large living area upstairs and the large dining table were great. Quiet location. In the off-season right now, it was simply delightful to walk the chateau grounds with all the spring flowers and blossoms. My family loved staying here and keep asking how I found such wonderful rentals in Europe. Thanks, HomeAway!

Cordialement.
