Perfect House

The owner was great and accommodating, the house was absolutely perfect for a family place. The kids had more fun at the house than at cedar point. While it’s right off cedar point drive it felt secluded and private. They had e erythema g you could possible think of!!! I would definitely recommend renting this house to anyone!!!

Great stay

Excellent property and stay. Only thing that could be improved is replacing many of the side rail bumpers on the pool table. The current ones are not good at all prevent play. Other than that it is an excellent property, location, and stay.

Had a great weekend relaxing and cooking on the grill!!!Great location for shopping and cedar point. Only 20 minutes to the ferry to put n bay ..clean environment great host. Nice pool table and game room for kids of all ages

Perfect for Our Needs

We stayed here as an alternative to Kalahari while in town for a competitive dance competition. We had a 5 families, 19 people across the house and apartment. Great location, plenty of room and everything as advertised. As shown in pictures, it is an older home, but is still in really good shape. Kevin was very responsive to any issues or questions we had.

Decent stay - needs new beds

The house is older so we didn’t expect it to be perfect and it was clean and it did have all of the amenities listed. Our main issue was that the beds were terribly uncomfortable/old and the sheets were horrible. They were pilled and the elastic did not hold. The bed I was on had full sized sheets on a queen so the fitted sheet wouldn’t stay in place. Luckily we had some extra sheets with us and the local target was close by so we bought more. As a pro the house had great amenities and was the perfect location for going back-and-forth to Cedar Point as well as some other local attractions. However, unless the beds and bedding were updated, I probably would not stay there again.

Great for Families

The McKinley house allowed three families (siblings and kids!) to stay together, share meals, play games and get to Cedar Point with ease. From age 2-54, we all had fun. The host noticed that the game table was not working and sent us a partial efund even though we neither complained nor requested a refund. Hotel options in the area are pretty bare bones and the McKinley house is a welcoming home that was a soft place to land after the long days at the parks. I recommend without hesitation.

Great for a large group

This is the perfect spot if you have a larger group going to Cedar Point or doing activities in the area. I will note that the temperature fluxuates room to room and the beds/pull out couches aren't the most comfortable, but it's clean, a great space and affordable if you want a fun space to have some down time together. Aside from food, they had everything we needed from linens to utensils.

Great space for team travel

We came up to Cedar Point for a basketball shootout and the property was perfect for our team and adult chaperones. Plenty of rooms, spaces for the girls to hang out, and house was very clean. The outdoor space was fun for the night and the girls enjoyed the fire and cornhole games. Thank you for allowing us to stay.

A Great Place for Family

We enjoyed this property so much that we decided to "stay in" each evening after spending our days visiting family, enjoying the near-by attractions, and Cedar Point (of course) which was only 5-10 minutes away. Some family came by to visit us, and we had plenty of room in the spacious backyard to enjoy. The owner supplied us with all the cooking hardware and sleeping spaces we needed. My family had plenty of room to spread out if we wanted to. If you want to enjoy the close proximity to downtown and attractions, have a large group, or even a small group that would enjoy a larger living environment, this is your place to be.

We got in a little late and the code we got was incorrect, but Kevin responded immediately to a phone call and resolved it right away. The house was beautiful. There were places it was showing its age but for such a classic it was in excellent shape. Just wish we had more time to enjoy all the amenities.

Cameras are not for security-you are watched the entire time on camera.

We were excited to stay here until arrival when we got a very long message of all the things we can’t do and the consequences if we did them. There are cameras all over the place. We understand security, but the manager wrote in our message that it is used to watched who and how many go in and out for head count. So he admitted the cameras were to watch us and not just for security purposes. We did not let our children out the entire time because we didn’t want him watching them. We even felt like he was watching us from inside the house, but could not find interior cameras. Overall, it was not fun at all and we stayed away from the house as much as we could. We have stayed in many places and never had this kind of awful experience before. When you book this property, you will receive all his “fine print” dos and don’ts and will make you extremely uncomfortable. We talked to a lawyer during a consultation because we were so upset about the cameras, but ended up not going forward with it as it was not worth the time and money in the end. The nice big patio you may think looks fun has 4-5 cameras on it. And he will tell you that he has a property manager that lives directly across the street and will be watching how many are there too. Then if there are extra people on camera, they will send you $90 bill for each. Again, he messaged me that the purpose for cameras was to watch how many are going in and out and that his manager across the street watches. We also had 9 people in the “sleeps 21” house. If anyone over the headcount shows up it is an extra $60-$90 even though the house accommodates 21.

My name is Kevin and my lovely wife, best friend and business partner is Anita. We purchased the house initially as an investment property to rehab and sell it. Shortly after purchasing it I suffered a near fatal stroke at work which had me in the critical care unit at the hospital for over 6 weeks and over a year of very aggressive rehab therapy afterwards. With the support of my wife, my family and friends and great care givers I eventually regained my ability to move, walk and talk again as if the stroke never happened!
This whole experience has definitely given me a greater appreciation for the VALUABLE LIFE SAVING WORK that Care Givers provide on a daily basis. I would like to say "Thank You" by offering a 10% discount (on your headcount fee) to any group that has a verifiable doctor, nurse, physical therapists, occupational therapist , speech therapist and care givers that treat treat stroke patients and help them to live a better life. (NOTE- The discount will be applied only if proof of medical credentials for guest are provided before the reservation is confirmed and booking payment has been made). I long for the day when we won't ever need them anymore. When everyone is healthy!!After a failed attempt at selling the house to help pay off a mountain of medical bills we decided to change direction and use it as a vacation rental and it all just fell into place. The neighbors have been great (The Austin's!) and I have met some wonderful people in Sandusky and we are happy to share our home with you.
