About this property

Brophy Reflections 4BR/2BA, 2 Kitchens, Firepit, Year Round Rental, Lic#1798

Welcome to Brophy Reflections! Built in the early 60's this rambler boasts beautiful sunset views from a bank overlooking Lake Brophy. Bring your personal items along with some food and come stay in our comfortable, tastefully furnished home. You will be drawn to the large living room windows and look out over the lake. Cozy is what you'll feel when you turn on the gas fireplace. We have two Roku TVs &DVD players.

The dining table seats 6-10 with the two leaves.. The fully furnished kitchen has microwave, coffee maker and dishwasher.

Upstairs there are three bedrooms and one bath are at the south end of house and can be separated by closing the pocket door. Great for napping and quiet time!

In our remodeled upstairs bathroom you'll find towels, and a limited supply of tp and kleenex. There are wash cloths, hand and bath towels for our guests to use. There is a compact washer/dryer upstairs, and full size machines downstairs.

The Blue Bedroom has one queen bed, and one twin. A full size bed is in the Purple Bedroom which looks over the lake. The Master Bedroom has a queen bed and a corner window with a lake view.

Downstairs we have a fourth bedroom with a full Tempur-pedic (firm) and a twin bed.

Downstairs you'll find a cozy spot with a sofa bed and loveseat. The large ottoman also has a pull out twin bed. Wifi is provided.

The Kitchenette downstairs is furnished but has no dishwasher (dishwasher is in upstairs kitchen.) The downstairs bathroom has a walk in shower with a seat. The downstairs is like an apartment: kitchen, bedroom, bath and living room with a gas fireplace.

Go out the downstairs door and walk onto a shaded patio. The steps down to the lake are many but there is a landing with a bench where you can take a rest or watch the lake action. Brophy is a quiet lake on the chain. A sand beach area(depending on water level), and a small grassy area is there for you to enjoy. A dock with a boat slip is for your convenience, along with a Kennedy paddle boat, kayak and paddle board. You may swim, jet ski, water ski, fish or whatever. Please have lots of fun but at the same time respectful of the neighbors.

Our front yard is family friendly. There is a fire pit with chairs out front. Yes, you may bring your dog with prior approval and additional fee . Dogs must remain on leash, kenneled or downstairs. A Dog Addendum must be signed.

Brophy Reflections is less than 10 minutes to Alexandria. Beautiful sandy Latoka beach is only 1.5 miles away and Lake Brophy has a new public beach with a beautiful play center, and bathrooms on the west side of the lake. Go another direction and travel that same distance, just around Lake Cowdry to the bike/walking path; take this path west to the new Brophy beach. Alexandria offers so many outdoor opportunities. During the winter Brophy Reflections is less than half a mile to the snowmobile trail. After a great day of sledding you will come home to a cozy warm house. If you enjoy skiing and snowboarding Andes Tower Hills is about 15 miles away. You can fish on Brophy or go to one of the area lakes. Golfing is convenient as ArrowWood is only a 10 minutes drive. The museums in town are so interesting, shopping is unique, AAAA theatre offers entertainment throughout the year. There is bowling, miniature golf and cinema. Tennis courts, playgrounds and restaurants are right in town. There is always something to do in Alexandria! Most of all you can take advantage of your vacation and relax.

Thank you for looking at Brophy Reflections!

Lake life
We very much enjoyed our stay at this property! It was on a smaller lake which was great for kayaking, paddle boarding and they had a paddle boat to use which was great! We were able to enjoy the other lakes that were very close and bigger where we took our ski boat to do more water sports! We also enjoyed the bike trails that were located very close! The house was spacious and supplied everything we needed to cook , grill out and just hang out with the family! We would stay here again and recommend if to other families or groups to enjoy!

Family vacation
This was a nice house. The only issue was the picture of the lake view seemed to have less obstruction that what really was. Overall it’s was a good stay and a clean property.

Son's 21st birthday!
Every year my kids like to take their friends up North for a fun time in a cabin on the lake. Always Alexandria bc it's their mother's favorite place on earth! It's getting harder and harder to find a cabin big enough and affordable but this place hit the spot! The lake front wasn't as friendly but there are so many things to do: Fishing; paddle board; kayak or paddle boating! Along with other beaches that are sandy wo weeds. And the cabin was full of amenities!! Great place owned by very accommodating people, the Persons!

We are Ken and Susan Persons. I, Susan, grew up in this very house, graduated from Alexandria in 1982. I taught middle school for 12 years, then decided to homeschool our own children. We have been married for over 30 years. Ken currently runs an Elevator manufacturing company in Andover, MN. We love being outside enjoying God's creation!

Why they chose this property

After my dad passed away in Jan. of 2013 we felt called to purchase my home. Let's face it, I couldn't bear to sell my childhood home. I know the love my parents had for this property. As a child my dad used to collect arrowheads he found on the shoreline of Lake Brophy. He built this house with the help of my grandpa and uncle. Cousins came for a week when they were young, relatives came for reunions, neighbors came to swim, Tech students rented the basement, we fished, water skied and enjoyed the lake. We would like to offer hospitality and memories as part of that same family legacy. May you be blessed staying at Brophy Reflections.

What makes this property unique

Ahhhh, the view. Brophy Reflections is a year round vacation rental which sits on the bank overlooking Lake Brophy this home offers enjoyment and breathtaking sunsets. This home has the benefits of the lake and a large front yard. Close to town (3 miles), the Central Lakes Bike Trail, the snowmobile trail, and much more your stay can be as busy as you want. This house has 2 kitchens and 2 living areas so you can have multiple families stay together and yet have privacy. We have furnished the home with you in mind. It's not too fancy that your children and grandchildren have to be still, but not rustic at all. This doesn't have a 'cabin' feel, we welcome you to 'our home'. Perfect for large groups or small. Want to visit friends and family in the area but would like your own space? Brophy Reflections is for you! Maybe you'd like to vacation with Grandpa and Grandma but they need their quiet time, this house is designed for you. Though not set up for a wheelchair, the floor plan works well. The bathroom is large and the counter is right next to the toilet which provides leverage. The bathtub is upstairs, however, downstairs there is a walk in shower. There are plenty of linens and towels with washer/dryer on site.

In the summer we will put out the patio furniture, get out the gas grill and put out the dock for you to enjoy. Come, stay at Brophy Reflections and be blessed!
