A romantic country house escape

A lovely sunny hideaway on the ground floor of Broadmeadows House.
Large south facing fully fitted kitchen with dining area, leading through to a delightful sitting room with large bay window looking outonto the west lawn. From here an array of wildlife can be observed, pheasants, rabbits & early morning roe deer are all frequent visitors to our garden.
I double bedroom - bed linen provided
Bathroom with bath and separate shower - towels provided
Outside paved terrace can be used all year round whether for "al fresco" dining or winter evening star gazing.

Spacious property in great location for walking. Very helpful & friendly host.

We loved this property. All rooms were spacious and well decorated with everything we required for a short break. There were several breathtaking walks from the door and Diane (the owner) was very welcoming and helpful in showing us places to visit. Would definitely recommend a stay.

Lovely place and nice people. Immaculately clean and everything there. Was extremely peaceful. We enjoyed our stay very much. You did need a car and restaurants a drive. We were happy to buy at a local shop and eat in.

It was so warm and comforting. We were gone everyday exploring, and when we got back each night it was like coming home. Dianne and Richard were great hosts. The coffee, tea and hot chocolate were very welcome. We had 0 Celsius on our last morning. And 4 and 5 degrees. Each day. So was wonderful for them to have that for us.

Country peace and quiet

Lovely, spacious apartment and very homely. Used as base to visit various towns in the Scottish borders - many lovely walks and places of interest. Also, lots of helpful material on local area in the apartment and helpful hosts.

We had a wonderful stay at Broadmeadows House!

This was our first time in Scotland and the owners were so kind and helpful. Dianne greeted us and showed us to the apartment and told some of the history of the mansion. She and her husband, Richard, are very hard workers and have made the apartment feel like home. It was a perfect location for seeing many Borders attractions and learning some history. I highly recommend a stay here!

The apartment was spacious, tastefully furnished and more than adequately equipped for a self-catering holiday. It is set in extensive and beautiful grounds also well-equipped with chairs and tables. I would recommend it, but with one reservation. I am a good age (88) and carefully chose this apartment for myself and my younger companion because, amongst other things, it was all on one level and had a walk-in shower. I was more than a little dismayed therefore to find it was part of a basement qand could only be accessed by several stone steps not equipped with handrails. I needed considerable help negotiating them. I think this should be made clear. On the lst day I had a fall due to a wonky leg, I suffered and injury to my foot which made it difficult to walk, it took me ages, helped by my friend, to make a tortuous ascent of the stairs, so difficult thhat at one point we called for an ambulance. This was no-one's responsibility but mine, nevertheless i emphasises the desirability of clarifying the position re the stairs. With this one caveat I shall recommend the place unreservedly.
