Large, quiet, high-altitude chalet, close to snowshoeing and walking trails

Ideally situated, facing south, in the middle of a magnificent pine forest, calm. Very nice view of the Aulps valley and mountains. A few kilometers from the Portes du Soleil. In the hamlet of cottages Great Pres, Choucard cottage is located down the road. We park the car there, before getting thirty meters walk through the pine trees to find quiet, facing the Aulps valley and its stunning views.

Great house, great host and great communication

Although we were a larger group than expected, we were comfortabely accomodated in this very well situated house. There was a table extension available, as well as additionall sleeping space. The kitchen was very well equipped. We were especially happy about the very large pot. We spent a lot of lovely evenings on the couches around the fireplace. Luckily it snowed during our stay, so we were able to do some scenic hikes straight from the house which is only a half an hour drive away from the Avoriaz ski area.

8 nights stay for hiking and recreation

I went to chalet choucard with 8 friends to have some quality time in the French alps and Vincents' chalet was very well located for that kind of vacation: On the one hand closely situated to the Lac Leman with its numerous bathing opportunities; on the other hand with an extraordinary mountain scenery like the range of Les Cornettes des Bises, Le lac des plagnes or the roughly exposed peak of Mont Billiat. Only backdrop for a hiking purist like me has been that some villages like Chatel have specialised catering skiing tourism, but influence of skiing is rather soft and the vast majority of the valleys have still preserved their natural beauty so skiing seems to be more sustainable there than in other regions of the Alpes. The chalet itself is also very nice: It has everything you need, is clean, super cosy, bright and well maintained. The contact with Vincent and Amandine was very pleasant; probably you'd have contact by phone and mail with them and they respond quickly. They are easygoing, speak English and help you with any question. In total, absolutely recomendable!

A very cozy place

My partners family, their dog and I (6 persons in total) spent 10 days over Christmas and New Year 22/23 at the super cozy chalet choucard. We were immediately in love with the warm atmosphere the house had. There is plenty of space and with 8 people you still do have enough space around the table. The kitchen is equipped with just nearly everything you need. Vincent and is wife Amandine were always here for us whenever we had questions. This made our stay perfect. Walking up the 30 meters from the parking space to the chalet with luggage was a bit of a struggle for the older members of the family but apart of that everything was managable. We sat every evening in front the cheminee, played games and drank redwine. I can only recommend this beautiful place to everyone who appreciates to have some peace and enjoy a bit of a romantic atmosphere. In order to do a bigger grocery shopping, we can recommend Carrefour Express at Saint Jean d’Aulps (15 minutes commute). Due to bad snow conditions we went skiing at Chatel (30 minutes car commute) but I think if there is enough snow, the next closer skiing area is Roc d’Enfer or les Gets. In order to do some sight seeing and visit nice restaurants, Morzine, Chapelle d’Abondance and Chatel could be something interesting. Wishing everone who decides at this chalet a peaceful and relaxing stay. Le chalet Choucard a été apprécié pour nos vacances en famille, nous n’avons pas eu froid et aucune remarque sur la propreté n’a été à faire. Les propriétaires sont très gentils et soucieux de notre confort avec un appel pour l’arrivée et un pour le départ. Également très bien organisé avec un book d’informations remis quelques jours avant. Vous y trouverez énormément de DVD dont le fameux « les bronzés font du ski » indémodable surtout en vacances au ski ! Petits plus qui serait encore plus apprécies : un petit peu plus de verre à eau, une chaise haute ou réhausseur pour enfant. À savoir : le chalet est situé dans un endroit très paisible, avec une très belle vue et nous avons eu la chance d’avoir un temps magnifique avec de la neige, cela nous a permis de faire de la luge et sans emprunter la voiture et aussi de boire un verre en terrasse avec le restaurant qui est tout proche à pied. Proche de la station d’abondance, St Jean d’Aulps ou même Morzine et les Gets. Vous pourrez aller skier non loin en voiture. Néanmoins, cela est précisé et ce n’est pas faux ! Prévoyez d’arriver de jour pour descendre les valises, le chemin n’est pas éclairé et très pentu puis glissant avec de la neige.Ceci dit cela ne nous empêche pas de passer de très agréable vacances. Merci encore à Amandine et Vincent.

Chalet très confortable, cosy, bien équipé, ambiance montagnarde assurée. Propriétaire disponible et à l'écoute. Chalet éloigné de 15 km de la station de Morzine où nos enfants prenaient leur cours de ski, mais la distance n'a pas posé de problème, les routes étant bien dégagées.Très satisfaits du séjour.

Super chalet

Nous somme venus à 6 au chalet Choucard pour une semaine de vacances. Le chalet est joliment décoré et confortable, la cheminée fonctionne bien, et il y a tout ce qu’il faut, on se sent très vite comme chez soi. Question ski, il y a plein de stations à moins d’une demi heure de voiture, entre Roc d’Enfer, Abondance, Chatel, Morzine, etc… on a eu l’embarras du choix. Et pour ceux d’entre nous qui ne skiaient pas, de belles randos à faire depuis le chalet en montant au-dessus du Col du Corbier. Le restau juste au dessus du chalet au col ou on mange très bien et qui fait dépôt de pain et croissants, c’est pratique pour les petits déjeuners. Un super séjour et un très bon contact avec le propriétaire qui a répondu à toutes nos demandes. On espère bien revenir.

Voir à précisé que l'accès est très dur à monté. La cuisine est très petite pour un chalet pour 10 pers . Au niveau propreté, peut mieux faire surtout en bas toile d'araignée, derrière les lits très sales. Bref . Mais nous avons passé une très belle semaine en famille.

Excellente semaine passée au calme, à proximité immédiate de sentiers de randonnée et à une vingtaine de minutes des commerces. Maison très confortable et chaleureuse. Ras si ce n'est un peu d'humidité à l'étage inférieur et des ampoules dans le salon qui pourraient être remplacées par des modèles plus éclairants :) Je recommande absolument !

séjour détente

chalet rustique mais plutôt bien équipé (merci pour le barbecue neuf!). Les difficultés d'accès notamment pour les personnes âgées sont un handicap bien compensé par un intérieur très sympa et par le calme du lieu. une coupe des arbres autour du chalet permettrait de mieux profiter de la vue! contact très sympa avec les propriétaires.

Chalet bien caché dans les sapins. L’aménagement est fait comme pour se sentir comme à la maison. Cheminée et bois pour les soirées plus fraîches. Situation extra pour faire pleins de balades en montagne (vallée d’Aulps et Abondance) où aller se baigner au lac Léman. Propriétaires joignables et très gentils. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié les différents espaces de vie à notre disposition, le salon et sa cheminée étaient bienvenus par temps de pluie, les chambres parfaitement adaptés à notre groupe. La propriétaire s'est montrée particulièrement charmante et réactive ! Le lac et ses plages à un peu plus de 30 minutes ainsi que la possibilité de rayonner de la maison et dans 2 vallées pour se promener sont un bel atout. Super séjour malgré une météo capricieuse !

Tres bon contact téléphonique dès le début avec les propriétaires : a la fois pro, claire, tout en restant très humain et décontractés. Le parfait équilibre. Le chalet est chaleureux, on sent un peu partout les petites attentions des propriétaires pour que nous passions un bon séjour des les 1ère minutes. A recommander.

Nous avons passé un super séjour dans ce chalet au milieu des sapins. Nous étions 8, capacité idéale car sinon la pièce à vivre peut être un peu petite pour 10. Vincent est très disponible pour répondre aux différentes questions. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié et recommandons vivement ce logement
