About this property
S Nags Head, Great Location, Awesome Sunsets, Secluded, Bikes, Linens and Towels
Located at Mile Marker 18 in South Nags Head (pretty quaint compared to Nags Head, Kill Devil Hills, Kitty Hawk, Duck and other areas in the Outer Banks) we are close to all the major attractions (Fish Heads Bar and Grill -1/3 mile away easy walk or bike ride, Pea Island, Jockeys Ridge, Manteo, Oregon Inlet Fishing Center, National Beach w Beach Driving, Bodie Island Lighthouse, Nags Head Woods, Jennette's Pier are all within 6 miles of the house) and hidden away on our quiet street . So you can enjoy the day exploring the OBX and come home to relax in a peaceful environment. We are only 222 yards away from the ocean so you can hear the waves crash on the deck at night. The Backyard connects to the Cape Hatteras National Seashore Parkland for a great view and amazing sunsets! Added Privacy. We leave a starter welcome bag with coffee, sponge, couple trash bags and a couple of rolls of toilet paper and a roll of paper towels are left in kitchen and bathroom. Motion activated security camera is under deck and provides a security view of the front entrance and parking pad. A three to four minute walk (6 houses back) takes you to your private deeded access(directions in picture frame near TV upstairs) that guarantees you a place in the sand and no folks are sitting on top of you. Our house is a good choice because you can walk to the beach with only one road to cross. Trying to find parking at a public access can be a pain. Walk 3 to 4 minutes to one of the most beautiful beaches in America. The sunset off the back deck can be amazing- nothing but nature and the sun setting over the sound or the far off distance woods (miles). It is truly beautiful and the focal point of our home in the evening. Our deck off the back is 23 steps high and is key in providing the view off the deck, but also from the kitchen window and dinning area. Upstairs, the preserve view out the back sliding door is super cool and peaceful if you like nature. The National Parkland and Sound out back. Watch the Sun Rise and Set from the same spot- half bath upstairs. 3 Bedrooms below with a full bathroom below if someone wants to go downstairs for a nap. Cool open shower in the back. Very quite on Street and house backs up to the National Parkland offering great sunsets and wildlife viewing. We provide 4 Bikes and they are Jamis Cruisers (to use at your own risk) for riding the paved walk/bike ways and are great to ride to beach (park on left in cleared area 20ft from our access). We also provide a beach cart, 4 Tommy Bahama beach chairs, 4 to 6 boogie boards (do not pull your kids by the boogie board leash, it will weaken it and cause it to break, this is needed for safety purposes for kids, if you break one replace it- or do not pull your kids), few kid beach toys for your use. We only ask you treat them well for the next guest by returning clean and rinsed off(or you can be charged $50 to wash off chairs, bikes, boogie boards, cart, please rinse them off before putting up at hose station up front for next guest, Please!). All the items above are provided at no charge and cannot be guaranteed especially the bikes (flat tires, chains, etc.) but we leave a couple extra tire tubes and an air pump for the bikes. We service these bikes at the beginning of the season( please use the bikes at your own risk- we also do not provide helmets). Linens: We do supply 1 king, 1 queen, and sets of twin sheets, 6 bath towels, 6 wash clothes, 3 hand towels. We do not make the beds, but have them on dresser or bed if you would like to use. Outdoor Grill - we have a charcoal grill but do not supply charcoal 272 Yards from Our Private Community Beach Access. Great Views from Back Deck- SUNSETS and Wildlife. Private beach access, guarantees you a spot in the sand that you can walk!!! (wagon, toys, boogie boards, cooler, couple of beach chairs) 1/4 mile away from FISHHEADS Bar and Grill and Outer Bank's Pier . Very peaceful, relaxing setting. Small views of Bodie Island Lighthouse, Sound, Bridge. Jeanette's Pier 1 mile away, Bodie Island Lighthouse 5.5 miles away, Oregon Inlet Fishing Center Charter Boats and Public Boat Ramp 7 miles away (close to inlet), 7 miles away Manteo (Elizabeth Gardens, North Carolina Aquarium, Historic Downtown) 10 miles to Wright Brothers Memorial, 1.5 miles to local Grocery Calhouns, 3 miles to Food Lion, West Marine, 7 miles to TWs Bait and Tackle, 1.5 miles to Whalebone Tackle, Sam and Omie's Restaurant 1 mile away, Tale of a Whale 2 miles away, Basnight's Lone Cedar Lounge 2 miles away, Corolla Lighthouse 36 miles away, Hatteras Lighthouse 47 miles away, Ocracoke Ferry 57 miles away, Tortugas Lie 6 miles away. If you want to go exploring - head south down Hwy 12 - just across the Oregon Inlet Bridge there is a side road on the left, turn here, park and walk out on to beaches that are protected- arrive in the morning to go shelling- you probably will not see a track in the sand!! All the way to the Ocracoke Ferry is a wonderful pretty ride that has many accesses to the ocean. The stars off the back deck at night are great, you are close to the heavens in South Nags Head! Very private quite area, you may have people on the left and right but not behind you (park) or in front (street) not like a condo where people can be loud and you cannot get away. Just remember to take your time and relax in the OUTER BANKS or as many say the Big Sandbar. If you like to fish- please don t hesitate to email me. I know many places and will help out. The quick access to walking/bike riding paths and the Ocean are great to start your day, without waking anyone or getting in a car. Put on your shoes and walk or ride one the cruisers we supply(ride at own risk and bring your helmets). An early morning ride or walk in the cool air watching the sun rise is pretty cool. Pipers Watch is in a great location and provides a place to relax after exploring the Outer Banks!

Check in is so easy the property owner went out of his way to give us early access to the property. House is awesome and location is impossible to beat! Definitely want to stay here again!
We had an amazing trip! We visited many of the different areas in the Outer Banks and this was a perfect central location. The sunsets from the deck were gorgeous and the bed was very comfortable. John, the host, provided wonderful suggestions for places to eat, visit and how to see the bears! We were very grateful for the recommendations! We would absolutely stay here again.
Awesome. Perfect house for small family or couples. Very clean and well maintained. Beach is close by and most everything you may need for a day on the beach is available from host. The host was also most accommodating, gracious, and respectful of privacy. If available our next visit to S Nags Head area, we would definitely stay again.
The property was clean, comfortable, and close to the beach. Great view of the sunsets off the back deck. Our family really enjoyed our trip to Nags Head!
Great! John was responsive and helpful! The house was perfect for our family. The living space was open and a great place to spend time with each other. The walk to the beach and one of the piers was quick and easy.
Excellent communication and accurate description. Great place to stay!!!

It's a great cottage feel.
Easy check-in, cute cottage style beachy house, plenty of room and a nice layout. The deck is great for relaxing on in the sun and the walk to the beach is easy especially with the cart.
Perfect for us, with amazing communication before and after. Beds were comfortable, towels were great quality, common space upstairs had great views and was very comfortable, and kitchen was all we needed. We were on a winter birding getaway, and between cold temps and howling winds, we didn't have the opportunity to enjoy the deck, but it would be wonderful for nature lovers in other circumstances. The good news is that the heating system in the house kept up with the cold so we were always comfortable. Our host, John, provided lots of good information in advance. When a rare snowstorm looked like it would prevent us from arriving on time, he offered to let us switch to another week or arrive a day later with extra days at no charge. He went out of his way to make sure that we had a great stay no matter what, and that we had alternate date options if we chose. I highly recommend!

We love the beauty and peacefulness of the Outer Banks. We are big into the outdoors - fishing, surfing, boogie boarding, hiking trails and hiking the beaches. We do share our favorite spots with our guests to improve their time on the Big Sandbar!
Why they chose this property
The main reason we choose this property is the view off the back deck. The SNH area is quaint and a very unique area because the area borders are the Ocean and the Park. Certainly the most peaceful area on the Northern OBX. If you want big crowds our place is probably not a good fit for you. The house provides an ever changing view off the back deck and the quick 3 minute walk to our private neighborhood beach access also added to our choice.
There are only 6 houses between us and the beach(not 100 homes deep and crowded beaches!!!) to the National Parkland, so the beaches are not crowded! YARD CONNECTS TO CAPE HATTERAS NATIONAL SEASHORE PARKLAND FOR AMAZING VIEWS! Deck is perfect height for sunset. Location is near everything but very, very quite road which helps when you want to reset. A short walk to the deeded private beach access guarantee's you a spot in the sand, try finding parking at a public access every day. No worries here about that!!!! Beautiful Water. Great feeling on top floor with awesome views out the back sliding door of the parkland. Enjoy the Beautiful Atlantic Ocean, only272 steps away- the view of pure nature off the back deck is super peaceful. Many great places to eat within a short drive away. Our place is a great to relax after exploring the Outer Banks, we
What makes this property unique
*Provide 4 Bikes to cruise the bike paths!!!!!!! We provide Boogie Boards and a beach cart, few kids toys, small cooler and a few other things are in our beach shed. Quiet area. Great swimming, boogie boarding, walking trails or beach, surfing, fishing, shelling, crabbing, bike riding path, view from back deck. South Nags Head is a very peaceful, relaxing area. South Nags Head borders the National Wildlife Preserve and Pipers Watch backs right up to it. Beautiful Sunsets from the deck or though the sliding glass door, or kitchen window. Wildlife abounds with deer and birds. 1/3 of a mile walk down a sidewalk or beach is a really cool bar and grill that is right on the ocean FISH HEADS We provide 4 Jamis Cruiser Bikes for the bike path located 50 yards from driveway. The Bikes are to used at your own risk and we do not provide helmets. Our houses provides a great launching pad for the day of activities and a quite place to chill after a busy day- not like a condo with stacks of people all around you - privacy is a must. The preserve off the deck provides a great view of nature with deer, foxes, ospreys, all types of birds- early morning coffee on the deck is great. The bike paths are great and a short ride to many places Fish Heads, Jennette's Pier, Sam and Omies, Dune Burger and Cahoon's Market.
