Just 20 min. from downtown Chattanooga, this 5 bedroom 5.5 bath home is located high atop Walden's Ridge near Signal Mountain and The Tennessee River. Gorgeous Mountain Retreat is complete with wrap around decks, indoor and outdoor fireplace, Full Kitchen, Dining, and Living Space and all the amenities to ensure you never want to leave! The Game & Movie Room on the lower level provides plenty of entertainment for the kids and kids at heart in your group! High ceilings and exposed beam work create a warm open lodge atmosphere.

WE DO NOT ALLOW pets AT THIS LISTING under any circumstances. This includes service dogs.

Rates are based on an occupancy of 8 persons. Additional charge of $15 per additional guest per night apply.

Be sure to check out listings #1280202 and # 920261, Serene Mountain Retreat and Sparrows Nest. These quaint cabins are the sister properties to Gorgeous Mountain Retreat and can be rented in combination with Gorgeous Mountain Retreat for large reunions and/or retreats.

Let me start out with the house is nice, its just needs some care to get it to being great. The biggest problem we had, which after reading other reviews was mentioned is that the house is not entirely kid friendly. The wood floor is splintering and has chunks missing and there are nails coming up all over the house and stairs. We took care of a few of them after a few unfortunate instances. Crawlers be alert. I would also caution to be aware that the house is only about 15 feet off the road, so there is very little places for the kids to safely play and the ticks in the yard were terrible. The kids would sit down once and come back in with 3 or more ticks on them. Overall, the house was very nice and accommodated our group of 5 couples and a few kids very well. The house was extremely clean and just needs some touch ups to make sure it’s completely family friendly, which I did provide the hosts with a few things. I would also say make sure you watch the trash cans, the animals can go around the cords keeping it closed.

Great getaway!

Beautiful home tucked away on a mountain road. Nicely decorated, well stocked, comfortable beds and a great fireplace with wood provided, all made for a wonderful stay to catch up with long time friends.

Christmas on the mountain

We had a wonderful stay at this mountain house. We were close enough to the downtown Chattanooga area to go do things, but far enough away to be in a quiet area.

The house is generally nice. The great-room is much smaller than it looks in the photos, but it worked okay for 5 of us. The bedrooms are good sized. The 5th bedroom is actually a game room with a bunk bed in it, but it does have its own bathroom. That bathroom and the other one in the basement in the 4th bedroom were a bit of a problem. Both those bathrooms have showers in tubs that you need to climb into. The one in the 4th bedroom is a claw foot tub. It was very difficult to get in to, and to stand in. There is nowhere to put soap or shampoo. I ended up using the shower in one of the other bathrooms because I felt mine wasn't very safe. They look cute, but aren't very practical. There weren't any towel bars either or anywhere for me to put my things in the bathroom. It only had a small pedestal sink. A table of some kind would help. There were several lightbulbs burnt out. The smoke detector in my bedroom was missing. There were just wires hanging from the ceiling. The directions posted in the home should be updated. Between the instructions in the house and the instructions I received at check-in time their is conflicting information. The garbage cans outside should be replaced. They are plastic. Animals have chewed them up. There is a warning in the house about containing garbage carefully or losing your damage deposit, but the cans make that hard.We enjoyed our stay, but feel maintenance is lacking.

The perfect family atmosphere

Lovely stay

We enjoyed the kitchen as well as eating in Chattanooga at some nice restaurants. It was about a 30 minute drive and we spent a lot of time in the city. The house was very comfortable. All the beds and bathrooms were well equipped and nicely done. We played some of the board games that were provided by our host and had a wonderful time!

Perfection in the mountains

This is our second stay at the property. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. It’s perfect for a group. Host is very responsive and helpful. All of their efforts are very much appreciated. It’s a beautiful place.

Perfect for Family Vacation

We had a family vacation with 7 adults and 4 children. Everyone had ample space, the kids enjoyed playing outside and with the provided games. Host responded quickly to small issue and corrected it.

Delayed family Christmas

A great property for our three generation family Christmas in January. There was even a beautifully decorated tree in the living room. With three levels, there was plenty of space for eight adults and three toddlers. The fireplace was an added bonus

Lovely home, great set up for multiple families. Spacious rooms and great bathrooms. Well furnished but could use a cookie sheet or baking pan in the kitchen. Was hoping for something a little more secluded feeling and further off the road, but road is relatively quiet. Overall I would recommend and would stay again.

Lots of room for all of us, 6 adults and 2 kids!

The cabin was spacious and already decorated for Christmas when we arrived, which was a nice touch. Would have like to had extra blankets as the basement bedroom didn't heat very well and extra towels would have been a plus as well. I would recommend this property for large groups looking for a peaceful getaway.

Large Rustic Home in the Clouds

Overall we had a great stay! We loved the accommodations as each couple had their own room and bathroom. This home is on top of a mountain and has wonderful views very nearby. The only problem we had was poor communication with the host. We reached out a few times before our stay and once during and never heard back. Would recommend this home to any large family or group looking for a quite rustic stay.

Amazing Trip!

We LOVED this home! We had so much space inside the house with 4 adults and 6 kids under age 7! It was a perfect location also with not much traffic and space outside to play! The owners were amazing and accommodating and such a blessing! We will back for sure!!!!!!!

Wow! What a beautiful home! Perfect spot for a girl's weekend, or family getaway. Plenty of amenities, easy drive to downtown Chattanooga, nearby grocery options. We LOVED the front porch fireplace! Owners super responsive and easy to work with. Would definitely come back!
