Superior-Category Country Houses in a Natural Park. Nature and comfort.

The Camino del Castaño rural retreat consists of two separate houses (Chantarela and Gurumelo) classified by the Andalusian Tourism Registry as superior-category rural retreats (CR/HU/00212 and CR/HU/00213). They are located on a magnificent 8.5-hectare estate within the Sierra de Aracena and Picos de Aroche Natural Park, in the Sierra de Huelva. The Gurumelo cottage (sleeps 8) has four double bedrooms with beds measuring 1.80 × 2.00. Each bedroom has its own bathroom. One of the bedrooms is accessible for people with disabilities or limited mobility. The Chantarela House (sleeps 7) has four bedrooms: three doubles with beds measuring 1.80 × 2.00 m, and one single bedroom with a bed measuring 1. 35 × 2.00 m, and three bathrooms. All rooms have wooden floors and ceilings (chestnut), are spacious, and very pleasant. In addition, the beds are very comfortable, with medium-firm Flex mattresses.
Both houses feature heating in all rooms, a living room with a fireplace, a dining room, and a kitchen equipped with a dishwasher, ovens, an 8-burner stove, utensils, and cookware. Outdoor and indoor barbecue facilities are available. Our houses are listed by the Andalusian Tourism Registry as “superior category” accommodation.
The farm is accessible by car from the national highway (5 minutes from Galaroza) and on foot (15 minutes from Galaroza) via the Camino Real, the trail that runs from Galaroza to Castaño del Robledo, Jabugo, and Fuenteheridos. We are therefore in an ideal location as a starting point for some of the most beautiful hiking and Nordic walking trails in the Sierra de Aracena and Picos de Aroche Natural Park. We’re also very close to the La Suerte equestrian centre, in case you’d like to go horseback riding. The region is rich in cultural diversity, with small white villages scattered among pastures dotted with oak and cork oak trees, valleys, streams, and gallery forests… Rich in history and gastronomy.
Our pool features a natural water purification system, thanks to water filtration through plants, gravel, and a water circulation system. We use no chlorine or chemicals of any kind. The pool is fenced for added peace of mind with young children.
