We had the best stay at this West Bay, Roatan house! It's in a nice, quiet neighborhood in the luxurious West Bay area, and exactly as pictured — stunning furnishings, well-equipped, with a pool overlooking the ocean that made for gorgeous sunrises (head to West Bay Beach for sunset). You can't walk directly to the beach from the house along the sand, but you can walk there via the road. Just know there are steep hills, so it's a bit of a workout — driving is easier if you're short on time. Favorite snorkeling spot: Tabyana Beach Resort. Get a day pass for lounge chairs, shade, parking, restrooms, and a restaurant. We used the host's gear and loved it.Food favorites: TotallyTaco Roatan for lunch, Sea Salt (#1), and Luna Muna for dinner. Nancy's cooking was affordable and delicious — Kelley can help set up a meal with her, so be sure to ask! Ernesto (Tio) was so helpful with rental cars and airport transfers and was quick to help when we had trouble with the car. Tips: ask about additional guest fees before booking, since adding a person to your trip can add big fees. Stock up at the large grocery store right after the airport, since local shops are limited, and stop there again before flying home for great deals on chocolate, coffee, and sauces (at a third of West Bay prices).Kelley was an amazing host — quick, helpful, and went out of her way to help us plan the trip. We were very grateful for her! We can't recommend this place enough! Still feels like a dream!
