The Yosemite Paradise Chalet is the perfect getaway for Yosemite Park. Completely renovated so everything is new, fresh and clean. The Chalet is a private home in a unique community INSIDE the gates of Yosemite Park with easy access to the Park attractions. It is located near the Glacier Point road and HWY 41, the main road in the park.

This is a beautiful 2-story home with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, loft, 2 decks, a full kitchen with granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances, eco-friendly bamboo wood floors, fresh paint and new furniture.

The kitchen is equipped with all the major appliances, dinnerware and organic supplies you will need for a quick snack or gourmet meal. We have stocked organic fair-trade coffee and teas and over 30 organic spices, in addition to a large microwave, quiet dishwasher, coffee maker, tea kettle, blender, stand mixer, food processor, slow cooker, fine cutlery, 5-burner gas stove with custom griddle, convection oven and a large refrigerator with in-door ice and chilled water dispensers. A reverse osmosis water filter and LED lighting complete this luxury vacation home.

The Chalet has full house air conditioning, remote control heating, Dish HD TV and satellite internet. We have stocked the home with games, books and park information. The covered rear deck is tucked away in the back to provide you a quiet and private place to relax and enjoy the birds, animals and forest views. The front deck is large with chairs, tables and special lounge chairs for children. A gas barbecue is provided for your grilling pleasure.

The bedrooms are furnished with quality mattresses, linens and plenty of storage. There are remote controls for AC, heat, ceiling fans and even a heated bed cover for your personal comfort.

There is a king bed with day bed and full closet in the main floor bedroom. The 2nd floor bedroom has a comfortable queen bed, dresser and windows with forest views.

Each bathroom is stocked with organic soap, shampoo and conditioner, and has a Jacuzzi jetted tub to help you relax after a long day of hiking and exploring the wonders of Yosemite.

The Chalet is finished with eco-friendly bamboo wood floors, a modern color palette, scenic artwork, LED lighting with dimmers, new windows with forest views and new mahogany doors throughout the home. All the furnishing are new and designer quality.

Please note there are security cameras outside the chalet that monitor the front door, back door, shed door, and the driveway.

This is the perfect getaway for two couples, a small family or friends in search of a new Yosemite adventure.

We thoroughly enjoyed this home as our home base! Plenty of room and bathroom upstairs for an adult family member. Then room downstairs with plenty of room for us with our son. The kitchen was well-appointed with everything we needed.

We loved our stay here! It was in a good area away from the crowds in the valley. Kitchen had everything we needed, beds were comfy and we even tried out the whirlpool tub a couple times. We loved relaxing on the deck out front planning our next day’s adventures. We did not use the back patio. We enjoyed doing the puzzles in the evening, as well. TV and internet worked great!

Cabin is newly updated and very well appointed with all amenities you might need. 20 minutes to tunnel view. Beds were comfy after a long day of hiking. Would stay again!

Yosemite vacations

It was a very nice vacation rental with almost all the amenities that a family with kids can need. The owner took extra care to make sure there are multiple toys, play cribs, kitchen appliances, dishes etc that made our stay much more relaxed and enjoyable. The things are vey well labeled and makes it easy to find/use. Will definitely recommend this place.

Perfect Sibling Getaway!

My brother and I were looking for somewhere to stay near the park as we had won a Half Dome permit and would need to get on the trail early. This was the perfect pick. The community of Yosemite West is quiet and gorgeous and about a half hour from the Valley. The house was the perfect size for us, the beds were comfortable (MUCH appreciated after long hiking days), and we loved the front porch. We didn’t cook, but the kitchen was very well-stocked. There are many books about Yosemite, some puzzles, and children’s books and games. I would absolutely stay here again.

Perfect Home Base

I've been to Yosemite several times but, this was my first stay in West Yosemite and it didn't disappoint! This was the most well stocked and best organized rental I've experienced. It was perfect our group of three that includes a toddler. It puts the renter in easy driving distance to Yosemite's biggest attractions. If you don't feel like driving, sit on the peaceful front porch where we had the privilege of seeing a momma bear and cub cross the street below. Truly an amazing place!

Water supply is vital

Overall, pretty clean and comfortable with plenty of essentials. Only bummer was when we returned from a beautiful day of hiking Yosemite on our last afternoon and found that the water had been shut off by Public Works. Scraped through the night and had to leave early the next morning. Better check with the owner about that if you’re interested in staying there…

This chalet was exactly as described and more. Well stocked kitchen, lots of quality cooking equipment a wide range of spices (I had forgotten those). Warm, cozy living room with two great bedrooms and bathrooms. All well kept, clean and ever worked just great. I will definitely keep on my repeat list for the future.

Yosemite Chalet

Great little place inside the park at Yosemite West. Easy access to Glacier Point, tunnel view and the valley floor. We’ll designed house with great kitchen and dining area.TV and internet worked very well. Nice sitting areas on front porch and back grilling pad. And LABELS! Everything was labeled so well that it made it extremely easy to find things and use the electronics and A/C. Highly recommend it.

Convenient and Comfortable

Our Yosemite vacation rental exceeded our expectations. We didn't think we'd need it, but the on-site washer/dryer proved very useful after our full day hikes. And for a parent like me with a child with dietary restrictions, I appreciated the fully equipped kitchen that had everything we needed. The prime location within the park itself immersed us in nature and saved us time so we could maximize our Yosemite experience. Our kids loved the loft area. It was filled with carefully curated books and there were some days we had to drag them out into the wilderness. Highly recommend for an unforgettable and comfortable Yosemite adventure.

Beware

8 days before our schedule trip, all roads were closed to the property due to the unprecedented severe winter storm. We tried to ask the owner for a refund or to reschedule in July 2024 but they refused. We told them it was unsafe to travel with 2 kids in such snowy conditions, especially since tire chains were required for travel and only 1 trail was open at the Park, but the owner refused and said that weather is unpredictable and even in July there could be forest fires. We lost out on our money.

Cozy paradise

This property is fabulous. Quiet street, cozy, comfortable, full of natural light, air conditioning. The kitchen is very well stocked with lots of spices, kitchen tools, quality appliances, quality dinnerware and silverware. The owner has even provided baby items such as a playpen and toys. Entry and locking the property is very easy. Communication with the owner was easy, timely, informative and friendly. It’s private, quiet and the neighborhood properties are beautiful too. We went for a nice evening stroll with cups of tea and saw massive pine cones! Easy to drive to the valley, with a STUNNING lookout point on the way. Check it out at sunset! Absolutely breathtaking. Love the porch on this property too. We were able see so many stars just from the porch! Would definitely stay at this property again. Thank you Simmy for such a wonderful stay for my family and I. Btw, my kids said they loved Yosemite more than Disneyland during our trip to California! It’s that spectacular!

Perfect Yosemite location

Our family stayed here three nights to enjoy our first time visiting Yosemite. We were thankful for picking a place to stay inside the park and a place that didn’t have lots of stairs to get into the house (like other vacation rentals we saw). The host had a very nice welcome gift for us. The two level house was perfect (our daughter took the upstairs bedroom/bathroom). One evening I enjoyed the upstairs loft recliner with the host’s huge Ansel Adams book. There is also books on Yosemite hikes, etc. We bought a Styrofoam cooler & loaded up with groceries at the Von’s in Oakhurst. We planned our Saturday Yosemite arrival for 5:00 PM so only had a 15 minute wait at the gate. The kitchen at the house was well stocked & perfect for preparing/cooking breakfast & dinners. We packed lunch/snacks/water bottles in the cooler each day for exploring the park. The park is so huge that you do spend a lot of time driving to get from place to place. We did 5 hikes. On the last day we drove to the village to buy souvenirs, watch the Yosemite film, go to the museum, gallery, and hike to a waterfall. We heard the parking there fills quickly so we arrived at the village area before 8:00 AM.

Beautiful house but no laundry

This is a beautiful house, with a better equipped kitchen then we’ve ever seen in a rental property. We had a lovely stay, but we probably wouldn’t rent this house again for several reasons. The first is that it’s listed as having a mountain view but there’s actually no view of mountains at all. In a location like Yosemite, that’s important. The second is that the internet connection is even worse than previous reviewers have indicated. Some days we couldn’t use it at all; other days we had a few minutes before it disappeared. Finally, not having a washer or dryer is a problem in a place where there’s really no good alternative. Clothes get dirty when people are out hiking, and not being able to wash them is a major headache. There are several locked closets in the house, and I would guess that there are laundry facilities in one of them, so that the housekeeping service can wash the linens and towels. There is also a sentence in the notebook provided for renters, recommending that they only do full loads to save water. This would seem to indicate that at one time renters did have access to the laundry facilities and for some reason the owners decided to change that. In my opinion this was a mistake, and would probably keep us from returning to this rental.

The Kitchen was equipped. The kitchen sink grate bottom side really needed cleaning. The stove top had spattered grease from previous guests. When the oven was turned on smoked filled the house, our son jumped out of the shower yelling "somethings is burning in the oven!" The oven was not cleaned from previous guests and filled the house with smoke. We couldn't find the smoke alarm since it hadn't sounded, found it. We opened the doors and windows to clear out the smoke. I had to scrape the bottom of the oven before putting our dish inside to heat up.Since we were not familiar with Vrbo it would be helpful to attach information about the amenities so we would not have brought so many dishes, pots and pans with us, & seasonings. There was a lot and we were thankful for that.There were so many labels and switches but could not find one to turn the loft fan off. We did leave a note explaining that on the island. The entrance code did not work to open the back door to enter. So, if we wanted to use that area, we would have had to leave the door a jar. Is there an area we could have emptied the trash, we were not aware and did not of course, want to leave it outside so, we left it in the house.We did email Simmy a couple months before our stay and asked for information with no response.The driveway Really needs attention! We have a Tundra truck, not a four-wheel drive and at some points the tires would spin in areas, the weather was clear, dry. More Towels too.

Stayed here 3 nights with my family (2 teens and 1 pre-teen). Had everything we needed, all amenities, especially the kitchen, were great. Everything was labeled well, host was super responsive. House felt both cozy for spending time together but roomy for when we needed space. Not too far drive for main park spots. Def recommend staying here.

We had explored Yosemite Park for years before finding the Chalet in 2014. The house was a diamond in the rough. After a year of extensive remodeling we have created our dream vacation home that we are proud to share with travelers to the Park.

What makes this property unique

The Chalet is a private home on a large lot in Yosemite West. This special community is located inside the gates of the Park at 6000' elevation in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

We're the perfect location to base your exploration of Yosemite. It's 25 minutes north to Yosemite Valley, 25 minutes east to Glacier Point, 15 minutes to Badger Pass and 25 minutes south to Wawona. The three main attractions of Yosemite are easy and scenic drives from the Chalet.

We are one of the few properties to have air conditioning to help beat the summer heat.
