3 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom Rental Home On The Edge Of The Wilderness.
About Bill Russell
After growing up in Wisconsin I finally moved in 1980 to Yosemite to climb the rocks and mountains. In the winter I enjoy skiing the winter snows and when the snow melts into river water I use the same water for kayaking, rafting and fly fishing. I have worked as a rock climbing guide and instructor at the Yosemite Mountaineering School since 1993 and I'm very familiar with all the scenic and recreational opportunities available in and around Yosemite 12 months a year.
Bill Russell purchased this House in 2012
Why Bill Russell chose Yosemite West
7164 Yosemite Park Way is at the end of the road and in a less built-up part of Yosemite West. This insures less noise and traffic.

Nice place to stay with the best film dvds ever seen. On the negative side, there is no TV here, cable or any other way. TV does not exist here, and that should be clear. Also, the hot water is sketchy. This is a three bedroom, two bathroom and we were two. One night we had two showers and three hours later tried to wash the dishes and the water went cold! Tried to reach Bill and he was out of town. The next day an alarm went off, and as before tried to call Bill and his phone messages were full. So, we had no person to contact for a problem with the unit. We finally got some help with the guy next door. There needs to be someone to contact with a problem with the unit. Didn't exist here.
Perfect Yosemite Getaway
We had an amazing stay at this VRBO! The location is perfect. The property is very clean and we had everything that we needed. The DVD collection is incredible! I would definitely stay at this VRBO again and would recommend it to others.
Great Yosemite location
This property is in West Yosemite away from the crowds in the valley but close enough to get there easily. It’s close to Badger Pass ski area and a short drive to Tunnel View. The condo is nice and had enough room for our party of 6. No TV or cell phone service. There are 100s of DVDs to watch. Wi-Fi service was slow but we could access email and messages. Bill was a responsive host throughout the booking process and during our stay.
Perfect location for a Yosemite vacation
The home is only 11 miles to the famous Tunnel Viewpoint of Yosemite Valley that Ansel Adams made famous, and 17 miles to the Visitors Center. Bill Russell was an excellent host, and contacted us prior to our visit reminding us about rigid chain requirements inside the park. We had an AWD. We had a minor issue with the wifi, but he worked with us to resolve the issue. we would defintely book again for a future trip.
Nice property in Yosemite West.
We enjoyed our winter stay at this property. The kitchen is well supplied with everything you need to cook meals. The property was clean, orderly and spacious. It's a great location for exploring Yosemite NP. Our only issue was that the Wifi was not working during our stay, but we enjoyed being fully unplugged for a few days.
Clean, new, and inside Yosemite National Park
Quiet and convenient location, very clean, home is like new, excellent communication with owner. Our family of 5 had plenty of room. As advised by the owner, we brought in food and used the fully equipped kitchen to make all our meals. The wifi is weak and we didn't have cellular service, but there's tons of dvds and we brought games. Badger Pass is 5 miles away, Yosemite Valley is under an hour away. Got to snow shoe and ice skate, without feeling like it was this big all day event, which it typically is when we stay father from the park. This was a perfect home base for our winter family getaway!
7164 Yosemite Park Way, Yosemite West is located approximately midway between Yosemite Valley, Wawona and Glacier Point. This gives you easy access not only to the many attractions of the Valley but also the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoia, historic Wawona, the beautiful Glacier Point road and last but not least Badger Pass alpine and nordic ski area.
