We stayed as a family group, aged 6 to 78. The house, the grounds, the gardens, the pool, everything was picture perfect. Nathalie was very helpful and always approachable, sorted any issue immediately. Despite the heat wave, the house remained comfortably cool. Star sky at night incredible. Lots of things to do in the area. Walks straight from the house. Complete tranquillity. Lots of wildlife to be observed. Will definitely come again.
As a slight caution, there are several little stairs/steps all through the house, which could be difficult to manage for the very young or old.
This is a beautiful property, lovingly designed by the owners who along with Jeremy were very contactable during our stay. Sadly the previous guests had accidentally taken the only key fob that controlled the pool lighting making it unusable in the hot evenings. In a heatwave it was too hot in the bedrooms without fans, the owners could not have predicted this weather, but lack of sleep due to the bedrooms being too hot did spoil the holiday for us somewhat. Plenty of shops a short drive away including the vet in Thiviers that can arrange the tapeworm treatments needed to return your pet to the UK.

Charmantes, altes und großes Steinhaus, leider etwas ungepflegt
Gut war:
Charme eines alten Steinhauses mit Holzdecken
Ruhe, Lage.
Amazing house, pool and gardens. Kitchen fully equipped, comfy sofa and beds. Hubby loved the sauna. Beautiful home! Great communication with owner and the man who looks after the house. No faults really. Only thought would be to have some basic staples of salt, pepper, tea, sugar etc in the kitchen which you dont want to buy for a week and maybe some basic kids toys such as colouring pencils and bricks would be beneficial for overseas guests when its hard to pack everything for the young ones. Much quieter area of the dordogne which appealled to us, Brantome a particular highlight and Saint Jean de Cole. Lisle river beach area was great for the kids combined with Bourdeilles. We also travelled north to Oradour-Sur-Glane about an hour away.
Unfortunately we had a weather affected stay but on the plus side the pool area is very good, beds are very comfortable and the property and grounds are spacious and attractive. Criticisms would be that two WC’s for six or more persons is inadequate and the vehicle parking/turning space needs extending.

Tolles Ferienhaus

Relaxing Country Retreat
We spent a fabulous week at Le Havre, enjoying the heated pool, the range of seating areas, good size kitchen - and very comfy beds.
Whilst it is in a very rural location, Thiviers is only 10 minutes away and has a range of supermarkets, shops and cafes. St Jean du Cole is a beautiful ancient village with a good range of restaurants and is a similar drive in the opposite direction.
We would strongly recommend Le Havre and Nathalie is a really helpful host

Incroyable
