The accommodation was lovely home from home best equipped I have ever stayed in. Plenty of storage ,beds made up and lovely and comfy. towels provided too. Spottlessly clean. Nice quiet site within 5 mins from Bude and on main road so good accessibility to cornwall/Devon. Would highly recommend.
Nice property although steepness of hills a bit of an issue, could do with a bit of a refresh and a new kitchen was good base for all that I wanted to see

Nice Little Place...Could Do Better
On arrival the outside of the chalet was green on the door mat and entrance...
The outside patio was very neglected !!
Entering the property... at first glance thought was ok...
However the mattress on the double bed was terrible... and we couldn't sleep in it..
We swopped to the other bedroom with 2 single beds they were a bit better but we were very cramped..
The lounge area was ok and pleasant...but the skirting boards and the patio door along the bottom was very dirty..
The kitchen area was notvery clean and the cutlery drawer was filthy... the fridge hadn't been cleaned out properly and was an odour
I had to clean it all before we could buy food...
We were booked for 12 nights...
Stayed 11.... went home early as weather changed for the worse...
The area is ok... has what you need...
Holiday attraction places... Great... Not far to Port Isaac, Tintagel Castle, Bude, Cloverlly...
Enjoyed the places we visited....
However the chalet was a disappointment...
Could be "lovely" little place.... if it had more care and attention and most of all cleaning....
Therefore... "Could Do Better".....
I wouldn't return.... 😔
A handy place to stay with very friendly staff and locals and locals.
Handy place to stay.very friendly locals. Only downside there was a steep slope which I wasn't very confident with especially when wet. So had to go round and walked the flat bit.
We're on our way home from a lovely week here! The Poppies was equipped with everything we needed and the owner was extremely helpful. Our teenage daughter had a sickness bug on day 2, we felt awful having to ring for clean bedding but it was no trouble to the owner at all.
Lovely location with plenty to do in the surrounding areas. We also took our 2 dogs with us. We'll definitely be returning here again, we really enjoyed it!
A clean, bright chalet in a quiet holiday complex not far from the sea.
The chalet, all rooms at ground level, is in the middle of a group of 3. It has all the essentials you would expect, with car parking nearby. Well situated for exploring Bude and the Cornwall/Devon coast. We found the chalet comfortable and easy to use. Note: this chalet like quit a number of others is off the main complex road, easy to find in daylight a little more tricky in the dark.
It is a small property but has everything you need. We were very comfortable there and enjoyed the facilities, the pools, squash court, entertainment etc.
We had some good trips out to Bude, Port Isaac, Westward Ho! etc, all within easy reach. Beautiful coastline and coastal walks.
The local village Coop was handy for food.
We would be happy to stay again.
Lovely property in peaceful, but accessible location
We had a fantastic week in The Poppies. The property was clean and comfortable and in the perfect location for exploring Devon and Cornwall. We even spent a day at the Eden Project which was only an hour’s drive away.
Cannot say how beautiful this place is. The host is definitely the BEST so helpful, friendly and accommodating. Moving to Cornwall but will definitely book with Alwyn again just for the relax it achieves
On arrival found chalet to be pleasant & clean great location for us as good walks With our dog on coastline & valleys close by.
Village close had good meal & few drinks at the London inn.
Spotlessly clean and well appointed. Location affords a good base for exploring North Cornwall and Devon for a plethora of diverse interests. The owner has gone above and beyond to give the property a thematic personal touch, "The Poppies" as a result affords a true "home from home" atmosphere. There is a well thought out information file , complete with maps, compiled by the owner detailing the surrounding area and amenities, together with a fulsome pack of diverse attraction leaflets. Both the film and games libraries have been well thought out so as to appeal to a broad range of ages and tastes, and, although we didn't use it, there is a shared barbecue facility with the chalet next door. Outside of the property there is a locked store containing beach toys and chairs, again for shared use with the adjoining chalet. The owner left some very nice welcoming touches that were much appreciated upon arrival following a long drive. The property is also very well situated for accessing the complimentary swimming pool facilities together with the Holiday park entertainment and eatery establishments. My husband and I could not fault this property and would not hesitate to recommend it. We hope to be able to return in the near future as , blessed with exceptional weather for some of our stay, we have only dipped a toe into the many attractions and activities to be enjoyed in the area.
Wonderful little chalet. Spotlessly clean and so homely. A lovely touch was essentials in the fridge, some delicious cake and fresh flowers. Communication with Alwyn was spot on. Lovely amenities on site. Quiet swimming pools, pizza shack was awesome and The Stables pub serves great meals and a very friendly atmosphere
It's our second visit and will most definitely be returning. Recommend a visit to Port Isaac and Boscastle if you're exploring as both are breathtaking places. 10/10 for The Poppies ❤
A fantastic place in which was home for the past fortnight and so peaceful.Lots of little extras which was great fully appreciated .All the facilities you need.Bed was so comfy and after being out early and home late was much needed.
We never got time to try out the Manor Facilities but heard great reviews.zThis is a fantastic place and can't recommend enough.Already looking to re book.
My husband and I have just had a very relaxing holiday with our two dogs. The chalet is conveniently situated so you can easily explore both Devon and Cornwall. On arrival Alwyn had left us some very welcomed provisions ,including some yummy cake and lovely fresh flowers which were a lovely touch. The chalet had everything we needed and we had very enjoyable stay and we would definitely like to return. Highly recommend.
We had the most amazing week staying at the Poppies. The chalet was spotless and perfect. The added touch of milk, bread etc made our arrival easier after such a long drive. The games, books and DVDs offered things to keep us entertained in the evenings as we are not into site entertainment. The site is in a great location and were that we had only booked for one week.

Lovely holiday
We enjoyed our first visit to Cornwall staying in 'Poppies'. The chalet is welcoming, cheerful and in a great position on the park. My daughter enjoyed the swimming pool (at least once a day!), and the playground which we only discovered just before leaving. The pizza shack is only a few paces away, and the village shops a 5 minute walk. The curtains and ample bed linen and towels were all fresh, some looked new, and everything is provided (even a few thoughtful essential groceries, which were much appreciated after such a long journey, fresh flowers, and meter coins). Although some furnishings have seen better days, and the bathroom isn't great, this is only to be expected for the price paid. We didn't expect top notch - these are not new chalets - but we definitely were not disappointed. This comfortable little chalet has everything you need, down to a bench and brolly for patio dining. As requested, we kept the dehumidifiers on most of the time while we were out, which did a great job, and also heated the whole chalet for a couple of chilly afternoons and evenings, and with 3 occupants, we put around £12 in the meter for the week. Alwyn answered queries efficiently and also kindly allowed us to stay an extra night due to unforeseen circumstances. Will definitely stay again for a great budget break.

Pretty and cosy chalet.
We had a lovely week away . The chalet was clean and bright and charming. Set in beautiful grounds too. Perfect as a base for all the exploring we did . Thank you Alwyn .
