About this property
A charming Grade II listed former Chapel in a tucked away peaceful location
Luxuriously appointed the Old Chapel provides a comfortable and tranquil base from which to explore the delights of Somerset and Wiltshire. With the charming town of Bradford-on-Avon on your doorstep and the Georgian city of Bath close by as well as Longleat, Stonehenge, Castle Combe and many more great attractions you won't be short of things to do. Equipped to a high standard with pocket sprung mattresses, crisp cotton sheets and fluffy towels the Old Chapel provides a great base from which to explore.
The Chapel is situated on the Bath side of Bradford-on-Avon in a tucked away location. It is a lovely quiet spot in an historic row of stone cottages. Parking (which is unrestricted) is on a nearby minor road and although there is a narrow road in front of the Chapel it is not advisable to drive down it as it is very easy to get stuck! It is only a 50m walk from the parking to the front door. You can easily walk to the town centre which is approximately a 15 minute walk, downhill. Please be aware that it is a steep walk back up the hill. Alternatively you could take a bus or taxi. There are a couple of pubs 5-10 minutes walk away, without having to walk down into town. The Castle also serves breakfast. There is an excellent Co-Op supermarket 5 minutes walk away which is open everyday from 6am to 10pm. On the ground floor is the kitchen/diner and living room. The kitchen is well equipped; from kitchen scales and sharp knives to garlic crushers and hand mixer. There is an induction hob, electric fan assisted oven, cooker hood, fridge freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer, small microwave and coffee machine. The sitting room, has a TV, DVD player, comfortable sofa and armchair and is perfect for relaxing in the evening in front of the gas effect fire. There is a cupboard containing a few board games, children's toys, DVD's and novels. The first floor has a shower room with toilet, basin and shower and a bedroom with kingsize bed, floor length curtains and black out curtains. . On the second floor there are two single (3ft) beds which can be made into a superking. There are black-out blinds on the velux windows and reading lights next to the bed. The bed linen is all high quality cotton. The bath and hand towels are all thick, white and fluffy. The house is gas centrally heated. I like my guests to feel completely at home, and so the cupboards are stocked with basics such as tea, coffee, sugar, olive oil for cooking. I also supply milk and one or two bits and pieces for the beginning of each stay.

A wonderful little house in a charming area of Bradford-on-Avon a short walk to the lovely town centre. It’s very spacious with a well stocked kitchen and sweet living room. We particularly enjoyed the gas fired stove. We also appreciated the welcome basket and milk in the fridge. Our host was very easy to communicate with and allowed us an early check in which was very kind.
We really loved staying at Dinah's place. She was so quick to respond to texts and made sure we had everything we needed. I only wish we could have stayed longer!
This property was very attractive, very well equipped and very comfortable. We loved the location and it was easy to walk to the local pubs. Bradford on Avon is a beautiful city.

Thank you Allison I am so glad you had an enjoyable stay.
We have great fun staying at the Old Chapel. We enjoyed the lovely house, the well appointed kitchen and relaxed having breakfast in the front garden. It was a super place for exploring the area and an easy walk into town for dinner at a number of really lovely restaurants.
We’ve just spent another wonderful few days at the chapel. It’s such a hidden gem in a beautiful area. So well equipped, so clean, so spacious quiet and peaceful. It all makes for lovely relaxing holiday.
Great property in a quiet location. Easy access for countryside walks and the train into Bath. House had everything we needed and was clean and nicely furnished.
We had a lovely 2 night stay in the Chapel. Good central location for day trips to Bath, Bristol and Cardiff, Wales. Well equipped kitchen, clean bathroom, comfortable beds and quality linen. The village is gorgeous too!
Lovely cottage, home from home. Lovely furniture and bedding. Slight smell of damp when entering property but nonetheless an enjoyable stay

Thank you for your review. I am very sorry for the slight smell of damp. I have traced it back to a damp mop in the utility cupboard!

We have just returned from a 3 night stay. It is an absolutely beautiful property, decorated to a very high standard, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Would definitely stay here again.

Thank you for your kind review. It was a pleasure having you to stay and hope I can welcome you back one day soon.
This former chapel is so cozy and lovingly furnished, everything is harmonious. It was a wonderfully relaxing few days here.
We enjoyed it so much and maybe we like to stay here once again and definitely we will recommend it to our friends.
Stayed at the Chapel as it was less expensive than properties in Bath. The place is gorgeous and the host has gone above the norm in providing luxury towels, a welcome package, everything you will need in fact. The place is spotlessly clean and very well presented and has all high end extras like an induction hob. Easy 20 minute drive into Bath, walking distance to a coop for supplies and walks around - and a lovely pub just up the road! Would recommend for sure and would stay here again.

Lovely short stay
Enjoyed our stay. We were a short walk into town but in a quiet location down a little lane. Everything was well equipped, nicely decorated and the bed was very comfy. A slight shame that there was no bath and that the log burner is actually gas but these are minor points in what was a lovely stay. Also really appreciated the welcome basket.

Thank you for your review. I am sorry you were slightly disappointed that there was no bath and that the fire is gas however these details are included within the description. Best wishes Dinah
A very comfortable and well equipped terraced cottage. If parking next to the property and a back garden are not essential then this is a great base for a family of four or two couples. One of the best places I've stayed at in the last 10 years.
Lovely cottage, home from home. Peaceful location, within walking distance of the town although the hill was steeper than expected. Cottage well stocked with everything you could want/need for a relaxing weekend. Welcome pack a lovely touch, much appreciated.
Your place offered a perfect slice of “quintessential England” right down to the gorgeous aroma of wisteria! Such friendly people in your community… Would love to come back soon!

I was born in Bradford-on-Avon and have lived here all my life. I now have the opportunity to share this great place with others and my aim is to provide high quality accommodation in a peaceful and tranquil location.
Why they chose this property
The Old Chapel combines period charm with modern convenience in a really lovely location. It is located in a car free road ensuring total peace and quiet and a short walk from the centre of Bradford-on-Avon. The chapel is Grade II listed and built of the local stone with attractive arched 'ecclesiastical style' windows and exposed beams in the second bedroom. It benefits from facing south and enjoys sunshine throughout the day.
What makes this property unique
This recent review from one of my guests I think sums up the Old Chapel perfectly!
Beautifully clean, peaceful stay with charming character Bearfield Buildings, 2b, Bradford-on-Avon, BA15 1RP, United Kingdom Date of Stay 9 Nov 2018
We had one of our best ever stays - the property is exactly as shown in the photographs, immaculately clean everywhere and full of charm. The fresh flowers and hamper on arrival was a lovely touch along with fresh bread and milk/butter in the fridge. The kitchen is very well equipped with plenty of new pans, cutlery, mugs, glasses, knife set, spices, serving bowls and more. The beds were extremely comfortable with fresh towels and little shampoos/conditioners provided. The parking is not an issue because you can park for free on the main road (only a residential quiet road) and there were always spaces. The property is down a pathway just 1 minute walk away. You can walk into town very easily, just follow a straight path for about 10mins. There is also a small Coop nearby for groceries which was handy. We had such a peaceful stay and would not hesitate to return again. Thank you!
