Charming Bed & Breakfast

A lovely B&B just a short walk to the sea and the city center of Saint-Malo. Patrick and Louise were lovely hosts and made an absolutely fabulous breakfast for us and our two children. It was a wonderful stay!

We had a lovely stay at this property. We were staying over St-Malo to catch an early ferry. The rooms are very clean and well furnished and the Kids loved exploring the various cupboards and trunks. The owners were very hospitable and booked us a table at a Restaurant which was wise given it was a French holiday and very busy. The breakfast was lovely and include delicious homemade cake. Well worth a visit and made for a nice relaxing end to our holiday.

Patrick and Louise could be right out of the Hamptons!

This lovely retired executive powerhouse team appears to have left the corporate world and successfully transitioned to hospitality. They are professional and kind and seem to truly enjoy hosting guests and ensuring each visitor has a great experience. Patrick had many ideas for how to spend our time in St Malo and we did most every interesting suggestion. Small observations- the bathroom and tub are lovely, they have art and collectibles from their works travels, the back garden is a serene place to hang out. Gorgeous wood and craftsmanship all through the property, The listing does not clearly state how terrific the beach actually is!!! We should have devoted an entire day to this fantastic benefit of traveling to Saint Malo. In the winter one can beach surf. We enjoyed a late night walk in the moonlight at low tide. Thank you Patrick & Louise from the Boyce-Erickson’s Minnesota USA

Hôtes sympathiques qui donnent de bons conseils pour les excursions. Très bon petit déjeuner avec une bonne sélection des fromages et confitures. Excellente situation à une courte distance de la plage. Aucune communication avant l'arrivée; les hôtes sont chez eux et on sonne pour entrer. Le logement consiste en une chambre et deux salles d'eau au même étage mais pas ensuite. La toilette est très étroite et nous n' avons pas réussi à la fermer à clé. La salle de bain a une baignoire avec un long tuyau de douche qui ne peut pas être suspendu et il n'y avait pas de rideau ou paroi, alors on s'est assis pour prendre la douche.

Gezellige B&B op wandelafstand van het historische centrum

Op wandelafstand (ongeveer 20 minuten) van het centrum, aangename route langs het strand. Lekker en uitgebreid ontbijt met elke ochtend een verrassing. Eveneens een leuk tuintje en plaats om fietsen te stallen. Parkeerplaats voor de deur is minder evident maar toch steeds een plaatsje gevonden op paar minuten stappen, niet betalend.

St. Malo kurz, aber intensiv erlebt

Auf dem Weg von der Normandie ins Finistère (Süd-Bretagne) haben wir einen Zwischenstopp in St. Malo bei Patrick und Louise Vandermeeren eingelegt. Als Paar mit zwei (gerade) erwachsenen Söhnen bewohnten wir die Wohnung im zweiten Stock, die viel Platz bot und über hervorragende Betten verfügt. Die Räume sind sehr hübsch eingerichtet, sehr sauber und mit individuellem Charme. Das Bad verfügt über eine Badewanne und ist ebenfalls sehr hübsch, mit zwei Waschbecken und großem Spiegel. Mit den Gastgebern kamen wir schnell ins Gespräch (französisch und englisch), erhielten Tipps uns Wissenswertes und verbrachten eine sehr ruhige Nacht. Über einen separaten Hauseingang konnten wir kommen und gehen, wie es uns gefiel. Das Auto stand unterdessen beinahe direkt vor dem Haus, auf dem Gehsteig. Das Parken ist kostenfrei möglich. Das Haus ist umzäunt und sehr sicher. Über eine Straße gelangt man direkt ans Meer und man kann in ca. 20 Minuten in die Altstadt laufen, die schätzungsweise rund eineinhalb Kilometer entfernt liegt. Das gepflegt servierte Frühstück im Wohnzimmer der Gastgeber war sehr reichhaltig, mit frischem Obst, knusprig-leckerem Baguette und Croissants sowie hausgemachten Marmeladen. Auch Käse und Wurst (Schinken) wurde serviert. Wir können sowohl die Gastgeber, als auch die Unterkunft sehr empfehlen! Merci Louise et Patrick pour votre hospitalité et le délicieux petit déjeuner!

Liebe Familie Vandermeeren, wir haben uns sehr gefreut, unseren Urlaub bei Ihnen in dem schönen Appartement verbringen zu können. Die Aufteilung und Einrichtung ist sehr geschmackvoll und für eine Familie mit 2 Kindern ideal. Morgens wurden wir von dem tollen bretonischen Frühstück verwöhnt. Unsere Gespräche waren interessant und oft hilfreich, wie wir unsere Tagesplanung vornehmen konnten. Neben dem Sandstrand, der nach der Straßenquerung sofort erreichbar ist und sich sehr weitläufig über die gesamte Küste erstreckt, haben wir viele Tagestouren mit ein wenig Kultur unternommen. Vielen Dank nochmals für die guten Tipps und Ihre Gastfreundschaft.

Der Griff ins Klo

unfreundliche Vermieter, kein Ferienhaus (statt 180 qm nur ca. 60 qm, 2-Zimmer & Bad im Dachgeschoss), keine Küche, kein Essbereich, in der Wohnung sind Essen/Trinken verboten, (keine Weingläser!!! und das in Frankreich), es steht kein Kühlschrank zur Verfügung, kein Balkon, keine Waschmaschine, kein Wäschetrockner, kein Bügeleisen & -brett, kein Fön, im Wohnraum nur eine kleine Couch für 2 Personen und zwei Stühle, Chek-in erst ab 17 Uhr möglich, Parken auf dem Bürgersteig vorm Haus (15 cm hohe Bordkante/Reifenkiller/Sportwagen nicht geeignet), Vermieter selbst gibt B&B an, kein ruhiges Frühstück möglich und wenig Auswahl, das angegebenen Inserat entspricht nicht der Wahrheit- so M. Vandermeeren, das ist die Wahrheit - Punkt

... ein wunderschöner Urlaub!

Unser Urlaub bei Familie Vandermeeren hat uns sehr gut gefallen! Von der Buchung über unsere Fragen (die schnell beantwortet wurden) bis zur Anreise war alles perfekt! Die fehlende Küche - da hatte ich wohl die Objekt-Beschreibung nicht richtig gelesen - wurde durch das authentische Frühstück und die Restaurant-Empfehlungen unserer Gastgeber nicht vermisst. Auch dass die Gastgeber im selben Haus wohnen, haben wir nicht als störend empfunden. Im Gegenteil: Wir haben gern die Vorschläge für Ausflüge aufgegriffen und wurden nie enttäuscht. Die Räume sind sehr sauber und liebevoll eingerichtet. Durch die alte Bauweise hat das Haus zudem seinen eigenen Charme... Saint Malo ist ein wunderschöner Ort, der viele Ausflugsmöglichkeiten bietet. Die Strände sind für Segler und Kite-Surfer perfekt. Uns hat hier besonders die Nähe zum Strand gefallen...

Gorgeous Getaway

We had a very comfortable stay at Louise' s BnB. Each morning a scrumptious breakfast awaited us and Louise made sure that every detail was attended too and variety was always there each morning. The rooms were very comfortable and well appointed and for our last night which was separate from the other three, we stayed in their downstairs room which they had fitted out beautifully for our stay. All rooms were clean and hospitable. Their back garden is beautiful and, weather and time permitting it would be great to spend time there. The first rooms are at the top of the spiral stairs and were a challenge for me, but when I have my new knee I'm sure I would be able to manage them. We took their recommendations for dining and enjoyed both of their suggestions.
