We love our house from 1930 because, above all, it feels like we’re living in a cottage. We get this feeling because there are windows all around the open-concept kitchen and living room, which is the heart of the house. It feels as if the garden is spilling into the rooms. It’s a very light-filled house. We can see the sunrise from one side of the house—the kitchen—and the sunset from the garden on the other side. We’ve decorated our home with furniture and art that we love, but everything we own is functional, because with two boys in the house, it’s important to us that we can actually live here. We love our kitchen because it opens directly onto the garden and a huge terrace with a large Weber gas grill. From both doors in the combined kitchen and living room, you can step out onto a 45 m² wooden terrace. Our garden is 1,200 m² and is surrounded by a hedge, so during the summer it feels like you’re on a private island. On the ground floor, we have two bedrooms for our boys, along with the master bedroom. In the newly renovated basement, there is a laundry room with a washing machine and dryer, an additional bathroom, and a large playroom for children equipped with a TV, PlayStation, Netflix, and games. There is also a guest room downstairs.
